Prologue: C'POW! It Works!Chip was looking properly ridiculous, with a very small crossbow-like thing sticking up above his little hat, walking through the halls of Nega HQ. In spite of that, though, he had a fairly serious look on his little face. He had Business to conduct...and that business was... "Hey, you!" he declared to the very first Lieutenant he could find. "I need your help!" His voice wasn't desperate, worried, or anything. It sounded almost commanding...except for the fact that he had a very childish voice, and of course the fact that he was a tiny cat that could be held in one hand easily. "C'mon!" He waved a little paw and turned, clearly expecting the Lieutenant to follow him...although his voice had shifted to a more happy, excited tone--He was much too pleased with himself to keep up a serious tone long. "Just come right over here..."

Mourite didn't often go to the Negaverse HQ. He'd gone once or twice to fill out reports or other mundane tasks, like dropping off energy orbs, but he tended.to stay out of it. It creeped him out, and being under the ground did weird things to his head. Reminded him too much of his dad's basement. Today though, he dropped off his orbs and was on his way out when a small cat bounded over and talked to him. At first he thought it was a youma, but then he noticed the star on its head. A Guardian Cat. He didn't t really know what the cats were used for, except energy damping during meetings, but there certainly were a lot of them. This one had a crossbow thing on it's hat. That was. Odd. "Uh... What do you need help with?" He asked, one thing eyebrow raised. He figured it was nothing but something about this...

"Testing, of course!" Chip answered in a very chipper tone, and led the way to a side corridor not too far away. There was a suspicious taped X mark on the ground in a corner, with a couple of small pebbles scattered around. "Stand on the X there, if you would, Lieutenant!"
He kept walking past the mark and spun around, waiting with his little crossbow. Once the man got nearish to where he'd asked, Chip called out, "Now try to dodge this without going anywhere!"
There may have been a small explanation he forgot to give, but with any luck, the suddenly plinking little rocks shooting down the corridor at a respectable--but not all around dangerous except possibly to eyes--velocity would probably clear things right up! Chip's left ear flicked rhythmically, like tapping a trigger...because that's exactly what it was doing. Each flick of his ear caused a tiny pebble to launch forward from his odd little crossbow with an audible pop, and then a snap as the crossbow rocked back into firing position, a new pebble dropping onto it.
Pew, pew, pew! The little rocks slung forward with satisfying regularity, only occasionally slinging off to the side entirely away from where he'd been aiming...giving the lieutenant ample opportunity to duck, dodge, and hide around corners to get away. He fully expected his "willing test subject" to try to get out of the way, of course, so was prepared to give chase.
Unfortunately, however, after a few dozen shots of pebbles...he ran out, and discovered a rather important oversight on his "cunning weapon:" Firing empty caused it to bend a bit, so when he clicked empty a few times, it ended up actually causing his little crossbow to pop right in half.
"Oh," he said softly, looking down at the pieces that ended up on the floor. "Too bad. That was fun." He put his head on his forepaws as he looked at the pieces, in a 'ready to pounce' sort of pose as he regarded them. "Using pebbles is too limited," he muttered, "Gotta use more energy instead. Yeah, no reason to wrap myself in something... Hmm," he muttered about new design ideas to himself for a bit, before remembering there was a Lieutenant there, likely annoyed and confused.
"Oh yeah!" he said cheerily, popping back up to face the human. "Thanks for your help! You can go!"
And that, as they say, was that.
