Asmodeus took a deep breath, as she stepped out of Mirrorspace and back into her apartment. She scooped up the bag she'd packed full of her favorite things (bless spacebags for compacting her dresses and petticoats and other clothes; they'd likely be messes when she pulled them out, but that could be fixed), slung it over her shoulder, and jumped out the window, glad she was only a second-floor unit. Her powered resilience could more than handle a jump from that height.

She wandered a ways, clutching the strange Mirrorseal to her chest, until she stopped int he park not far from her complex and set her bag down, and looked up at the sky.

"Cosmos?" she said, softly, "I don't know if you're listening, but...I was told you could find people who were in need. And I need you, right now. Please."

She really, really hoped this worked.

Cosmos' descent to Earth was always something to behold; she was a beacon in the sky, small and far away, that drew closer until she fell onto the ground like a shooting star. She had come from far away, a speck in the sky, traveling at unfathomable speed from her safe haven at the Cauldron.

As she always tried.

If the journey was taxing upon her, she didn't let it show.

She had landed upon the Earth only a few feet away from the Dark Mirror Senshi and regarded her with a curious eye initially. She held her staff in her hand, not quite a weapon but there to give her more of a presence as she gripped it tightly.

"You have called," she broached; it was not so much a statement as it was a question. She let the silence linger as she sized up the Dark Mirror Senshi.

She did not seem to pose a threat, but Cosmos stood tall and defensive, regardless.

It was like something out of a storybook, that star streaking across the sky and landing at her feet. Asmodeus stared in wide-eyed wonder at the woman that stood before her, like something out of a dream.

She almost hadn't believed. But here it was--undeniable proof.

"I have, yes," Asmodeus said, and she uncurled her hands from her chest, offering the Mirrorseal. "I...want out. Of the Mirror. I can't stay, not anymore." She let out a breath. "So, I guess you need this thing to be able to purify me? I went into Mirrorspace, and found it, and brought it back, and..then I called for you. I don't really know what happens next?"

Cosmos watched for a few seconds, either to get her bearings after her travels or to process the situation with a clearer mind. Gently, she reached out to accept the Mirrorseal. She cradled it for a long moment, rolling it over in her hand, examining it.

"Next," she murmured softly, finally holding the Mirrorseal steady, "I free you."

She focused her energy; her face was impassive, but her eyes were fixated, focused, on the Seal she held. She was careful, as she always seemed to be with such matters.

"Relax your mind," she said softly. "Be at peace. Find comfort knowing that you have a new world, a new future, within your grasp. Free of Chaos. Your starseed will be free again."

Asmodeus nodded. She watched, for a moment, as Cosmos stared at her starseed and focused her power, and then she closed her eyes, and waited.

"Okay," she said, "I'm ready." She wasn't sure she was, really, but how could you ever be ready to do something like totally shed Chaos? Burn off the poison infecting your very soul?

It didn't matter. She'd be free, soon. And that was all she wanted.

Cosmos nodded slightly, reassuringly. Her touch was gentle but determined. She had done this before. She would do this again.

"Good," she said, voice soothing.

She worked effortlessly, tirelessly. She took this task seriously and she would not do something to endanger Asmodeus. Her eyes remained trained, occasionally flickering to the girl's face to make sure she was all right.

Sometimes, she would glance to the horizon; Asmodeus may have been sincere in her desire to purify, but Cosmos would do all that she could to avoid a trap if ever anyone else would have chosen to spring one.

But, the night was peaceful.

Tonight, Chaos failed.

"There," she soothed, pushing out the last of the Chaos. "...How does it feel?"

Once upon a time, years and years ago, a fiery teenager sought a prince she knew from her dreams, to be thrown through a mirror and embrace her destiny. That had been cold, and dark. It had been an answer sought and found and found unsatisfactory.

This, too, was cold and painful, like a hand gripping something in Asmodeus's chest and squeezing. It hurt, and she didn't bother pretending it didn't, but what else was it supposed to feel like? This was warfare for her very soul.

Finally, it was done, and Asmodeus could breathe again.

She spun around, briefly, watching the glittering translucent tails of her new bow spin with her, and then she gave Cosmos a broad smile.

"Good. I feel good," Asmodeus said, and she patted herself just to make sure it really was real. The feeling of a solid leather corset, brand new, under her hands confirmed that yes, what she was seeing was definitely real. She was finally free.

"Thank you. Thank you so much."
