The tournament is taking place in the Castle in Negaspace, in a large room that has been designated towards the event. It is very spacious and there is a ring where the participants will fight, as well as seats around it for viewers. You are greeted by General Aurostibite and General Xenotime standing off to the side to monitor
The rules are simple: fight your opponent using whatever methods you have available to you - physical strength or magic - and whoever is left standing at the end is the winner! Aurostibite adds, in a tone of voice that doesn't quite indicate whether he's joking or not, to please try not to kill anyone.Quote: OOC RULES:
- Battles must be completed within 72 hours. If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.
- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.
- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.
- If you have any questions, please contact kuropeco or Beejoux through Discord or PM! Quote: THE MECHANICS
There will be 2d20 rolled in each intro post. The person with the higher number is the first to attack!
Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )
Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!
The person the higher HP at the end of the battle (or the one that does not reach 0) is the winner! Quote: DEFENSIVE / HEALING MAGIC
For healing magic: roll 1d4 (first stage), 1d6 (second stage), 1d8 (third stage); whatever number you roll is how much HP you gain back. This takes the place of your attack roll for your turn.
For defensive magic it must be rolled PRIOR to the next attack. Roll the same dice as above, and subtract that amount from the damage done by your opponent.
i.e. :
- Person A rolls a 6 instead of rolling for an attack - Person B attacks with 7 damage - Person A receives 1 damage (7-6) xBeejoux Nissonite will be going first!

HP: 30 DMG: The sign ups had gone up and Nissonite wasted very little time before signing up to participate. It seemed like a valuable opportunity, not just for the fighting experience, but as a means to meet more of his fellow officers, perhaps even get to know a few. Like the captain he was standing across from now. Blue hair, blue eyes with color smudged around them. Cornetite, as announced, and Niss offered the other man a dip of his head in greeting, lips tugging back in an easy smile as he summoned the chained ball of ice that was his weapon. "Let's do this." Wasting no time from that point, Nissonite jerked his arm back, chain rattling loudly as it and the large ball of ice flew back, and with a quick step forward her swung it around in an overhead arc to bring the ice down in a glancing blow to the other man's shoulder.

Captain Cornetite :: 29 HP There was very little that Cornetite remembered about the tournament the year prior. Newly recruited at that time, he had only 'signed up' because the mad woman in charge of his introduction and plan for succession in the Negaverse had insisted. It was a way to find out what they were capable of, and a way to get to know one's peers. This year it had taken less coaxing and before General Tourmaline could throw his name unknowingly into a hat he had signed himself up. It was another first for him this year -- his first outing as a Captain, learning his way around a weapon upgrade. Wonderful. He started with the poi in the same hand, testing the weight of them before splitting the balls up so that one dangled from its handle in each hand. He would have given them a swing to see how they rolled, but his opponent had other ideas... And a similar weapon. Nissonite's chain rattled with his movement, drawing Cornetite out of his thoughts and into the real time actions of the moment. A sharp pain jolted through his shoulder where the ball had grazed reminding him that now wasn't the time for stalling or 'getting a feel' for things. If, by whatever means, he won this round he could count it as a warm up but he had to actually act first... And so he did. As though preparing for a spinning performance, Cornetite began to whirl the poi in his hands, getting a good momentum going before striking out at the other man with the one in his right hand. [ 4 damage dealt]

HP: 26 DMG: 3 Similar weapons and a similar range. It would make for an interesting fight, as would the other man's willingness to just go for it. He'd wondered what it'd be like. If the fighting in the tournament would be more like casual sparring, or if his fellow officers would give it everything they had to win. That it was closer to the latter had him smiling. The poi had hit, point of impact making his shoulder sting and ache, but it wouldn't slow Nissonite down. His general had trained him better than that. Destiny City and prepared him better than that. The ice ball had struck the ground with a clattering crash, sliding against the stone, and Niss jerked it back a second time to set it spinning at his side with a flick of his wrist. "Not much of a talker?" Another quick step, but this time the swinging weight came around in a diagonal arc aimed for the other man's chest, the length of the chain hooked beneath the point of his own elbow to keep it from smashing against the floor a second time as it swung back.

Captain Cornetite :: 26 HP "Actions speak louder, don't you think?" He tightened his grip on the poi in his left hand, giving it a twirl to wrap the leather cord one loop tighter around his fist. There was no telling what sort of tricks the other man had up his sleeve and it wouldn't help anything to lay all of his own cards out at once. If they started off slowly they had a chance to get a feel for one another and maybe learn something in the process. His opponent seemed to have other things in mind, sending the ball of ice in his direction again. He took the hit while turning sideways so it scraped across his shoulder instead of knocking him flat, using the momentum of his own movement to take an idle swing at the other man again. [ 1 dmg]

HP: 25 DMG: 5 The poi bounced off his arm with a stinging little smack that would probably leave a bruise late but was not ultimately damaging. At least not on it's own. There was always the argument about death from a thousand cuts, but Niss wasn't sure if that also applied to bruises. "I'd say that was all very subjective." It didn't matter though, not right in that moment. The blonde pulled on the chilly chain again to draw his weapon back to him, but he was moving himself, rushing forward as he gathered the length of the chain around one arm. This time his strike came in the form of a chain covered elbow aimed at the other captains stomach.

Captain Cornetite :: 21HP Sometimes in order to move forward one had to be knocked down a peg. An attack was coming. That he was going to be hit was inevitable. How he reacted to the hit -- now that was something he had control over. When the elbow hit his stomach he was ready for it, muscles tense and ready for impact and breath expelled so he couldn't be forced out of him. Nothing could have quite prepared him enough for the force behind it, though. It would have been enough to wind him had he not braced for impact, and it was enough to keep him doubled over briefly as he processed the pain, quickly assessing the best way to protect himself from something like that happening again before moving. As he straightened out he swung the poi up, starting the arc low in an attempt to end it high, ideally striking the other man somewhere that he'd feel it -- shoulder, chest, face. It wasn't exactly as though he could aim well from his starting point and beggars couldn't really be choosers. [ 7 dmg]

HP: 18 DMG: 6 The poi hit him in the shoulder and across the side of his face, hard. It made him grunt as his head snapped to the side, and a quick steps jerked him back and away to regain a little safe distance between them, but not far enough to limit his own weapon's reach. It was yanked up and into a another twirling swing, the arc of the circle going higher and higher until the icy ball was spinning over his head. Then he let it go with a twist of his arm, 'pitching' the weighted end in a curved throw at the other man's torso.

Captain Cornetite :: 15HP The ball of ice caught him in the gut, doubling him over around it as though that would be enough to protect him from further assault. Well.... It might be enough to protect him if he could keep the other man from drawing his weapon back, although he honestly wasn't certain as to whether or not this was a game of tug-o-war he could win. Cornetite grunted, trying to catch a breath as he dropped his poi in order to reach up and catch hold of the chain, giving it a tug in an attempt to catch his opponent off-guard while ignoring just how badly the blow to the stomach made him want to wretch. [ 1 dmg]
