As Caper entered the library, he was a bit self conscious and rather self aware. While he didn't mind reading, he didn't really come here often. It probably didn't help Wednesday had almost gotten him kicked out and scolded by the librarian about half a dozen times in the past as he tried valiantly to help her with homework, but thankfully his spitfire girlfriend was not here today. Walking as quietly as possible, the Geist had the print out of his homework assignment in hand.
Wandering the aisles, a sense of anxiety quickly began to swell in his chest. He couldn't find what he was looking for for the life of him. Even his characteristic glow began to dwindle, the tendrils barely tracing his skin. Caper really didn't want to ask the librarian encase he flared her temper (there was no way she didn't associate him with Wednesday). Licking his lips nervously, Caper glanced around.
At the nearest work table was another Junior. She looked almost festive, her colors green and red. Most of all she looked friendly, and while he didn't think he shared any classes with her, he approached as kindly as possible. "I-I'm sorry," he murmured to interrupt, trying not to jerk the Dryad from her book. "Do you know how things are organized here? I'm sorry." Caper repeated himself, clutching onto his assignment for dear life. Now his anxiety was filled with regret. Who liked being interrupted in the library?

Cuileann, as usual, was in the library. She loved it in here, it was quiet, so many books to read, a quiet place to do her schoolwork, the printers/computers were better than what she had access to in her dorm so she always seemed to wander here for one reason or another.
Sitting at a table situated in the middle of the library she was working on her English assignment. The books she had chosen were scattered about the table in what appeared to be an unorganized pile but she knew where each book was. Currently, her nose was stuck in a book reading a passage she needed to rewrite in her own words for part of her assignment.
Engrossed in her work it took a moment for the stuttering voice to be heard which caused her to look up in shock. There stood a Geist who was clutching what appeared to be an assignment of some kind as if it was the most important thing to them.
"No need to be sorry, be happy to help you. What do you need?"she asked in a soft voice. The librarian was known to be a tyrant about the rules but she tended to favor Cuileann since she was always respectful when in the library.

The boy didn't realize he had been holding his breath, his tendrils growing in intensity as he awaited a response. He let it all out at once, the sound like a soft sigh. Thank the nine she was willing to help him. Caper glanced down to his paper before responding, though he had already memorized the assignment.
"It's for my biology class," the Geist explained quietly, maintaining an appropriate volume as he leaned forward slightly to make sure she could hear. "I need a scientific reference on the plants of Below," he informed, gesturing vaguely at nothing before continuing, "and then something less scientific. It can even be a manual to maintaining house plants."
Glancing around, he chewed the inside of his cheek. "I don't think they'll be next to each other, and I couldn't find anything specific to just plants in Below that actually talked about, well, the plants..." he trailed off. Caper knew enough about growing plants on his own but of course, he couldn't cite himself for his paper.

Cuileann could not help but notice the young Geist seemed to be distressed. His tendrils seemed to appear more vibrant then become as if they were not there at all. Curious she watched his face for a clue as to why.
She noted the sudden rush of breath that he expelled as his tendrils become more intense is the only word she can describe it as. She was fascinated. Since she was considered a "geek" among her classmates she tended to be a loner and kept to herself as much as possible. But if a fellow classmate was in need of assistance with class work she would happily help.
Listening to his dilemma she knew which aisle for him to find the appropriate text to help with his assignment. She nodded and slowly and quietly pushed her chair back, got to her feet and motioned for him to follow her. She noticed the librarian eyeing them as they spoke even though it was very quiet she seemed to be slightly perturbed at the rule-breaking of no speaking loudly which to Cuileann was odd since they were whispering very low tones even she was having a hard time understanding.
Looking back over her shoulder to make sure he was following she quietly made her way 4 aisles back and 2 over to the section on Botany that also contained Plants and Flowers texts as well as manuals and illustrated handmade books done by former and current students of the Academies.
Pointing to the shelf she spoke very quietly "You can find what you need for the scientific texts here and for something non-scientific you can find manuals and student made books for that" she stepped back so he can start to look to find the suitable materials he needed. She wanted to stay in case he needed further help.W/C: 309

The Dryad suddenly got a spark behind her eyes, and Caper took a step backwards to give her space. Giving a glance to her belongings on the table, he only paused for a moment before falling in step behind her, not expecting the other Junior to dote on him and bring him his books.
They got deep into the maze of book shelves, and Caper felt almost a sense of claustrophobia fall over him. He didn't think he had ever gone this far back into the reference materials. Usually he stayed on the edges where the popular fiction and nonfiction books lined the short stacks. The boy noted the word 'Botany' above their heads, trying to commit their journey to memory so he was better prepared to do his own work next time.
He blinked a few times as the red head stopped, her accuracy impeccable as the books he sought were on the shelf in front of them almost like magic. Caper slowly pulled out the biggest book in the row, leaning back as he held it with one hand to flip it open and check the pages. "Thank you so much," the Geist stated sincerely, his voice a bit louder as they were in the dense maze of books. He was a little bit in awe that someone could know the library that well despite not being a librarian. He wondered briefly if she intended to be one after graduation.
"I'm Caper by the way," the pink-eyed boy introduced himself as he closed the book, sliding it under his left arm. He held the spine firmly with his other hand, not wanting to drop it accidentally.

Cuileann stood only a few steps away to give him room to find what he needed for his assignment but close enough in case he needed additional help. He seemed fixated on his task, as if measuring which book would best suit his needs.
The biggest book on the shelf seemed to catch his attention and then it was in his hand. He flipped through it a bit before closing it and holding onto it.
"I am happy to help someone in the library. I love books so much so I am studying literature. I may become a librarian or own my own book store have not fully decided as of yet, all I do know is books are like home to me" with that she smiled. "My name is Cuileann, pleased to meet you Casper""If you need anything else please do not hesitate to ask, I know my way around this library very well as I am here most of the time" with that she motioned to walk back towards the table where she was sitting.W/C: 177

"I think you would be good at that," the boy confirmed hurriedly, smiling softly. Cuileann did seem to know her way around, and her personality seemed to radiate the perfect fit for both archival and knowledge.
He nodded his head as she pointed back to her original spot, taking a step backwards to get out of her way. Clutching the book now with two hands, he pivoted on his heel to examine the rest of the books on the shelf. He still needed to find a second text to cite after all!
Browsing quietly, he took a bit more time to find a match that interested him when it came to the hand written works. Some of the books seemed quite old, though none of the authors really sparked a memory to him. They must have been important to the Academy at some point to have been honored on the shelves. Finally selecting the perfect title, the Geist began to wander back towards where he came from.
Doing his best to follow the rules, he sucked up his nerves to brave the librarian at the desk, passing over his student card silently as she beeped both books in. Not a word was exchanged between them other than a timid half-bow from Caper in thanks before he scurried away. Honestly, his little heart was racing now. He had done nothing wrong this time, but past memories still danced in his head. He needed to stop letting Wednesday drag him into things, he was getting some serious issues from it...
Looking around, the Junior honestly just wanted to finish what was left of his schoolwork. Before he had not noticed how crowded the library really was (as he had homed in on Cuileann's personality so quickly), leaving him standing there like a dummy. He didn't know any of the others to ask for a spot.
A bit sheepishly he drifted back towards the Dryad, placing a hand on the chair diagonal to her. "May I? Just to read and write some?"

Cuileann walked quietly and swiftly back to her table, she glanced back over her shoulder and smiled. Seemed Casper remembered to get the second text needed to complete his assignment. He seemed to be focused on finding just the right text. Slowing her stride down a bit she browsed the section she was in and found a few books for her to peruse at her leisure. Some of the texts in this section were on a Senior level but she had no difficulty reading and understanding the chapters contained within.
She turned the corner to browse the section on the other side and she glimpsed Casper making his way towards the "Behemoth" which is what she secretly called the librarian. She was a stickler for the rules and did not tolerate any disrespect to her or her library as she called it. Cuileann understood her passion about the books and information contained within but swore to herself she would never be like that to the patrons when she became a librarian. She wanted to encourage those who came to her for help, pass on her knowledge and hopefully make someone feel special like her first trip to the library many years ago.
Glancing back over she noticed Casper was doing his best to make himself small or at least that is what she saw. He seemed really uncomfortable with the librarian. "Odd} she thought to herself. "The librarian did not react sternly when Casper came in" because Cuileann noticed everyone who entered since her table was in the middle she saw everyone.
She moved to her table and sat down with the intention of completing her schoolwork. She picked up her pencil and the one text she laid down to help Casper and picked up reading where she left off.
She heard his voice ask if he could sit and write some which caused her to smile. "Of course you can, please sit. If you need anymore help please ask I will be happy to help" with that she nodded and began to work on her assignment again.W/C: 348

The Geist smiled warmly in thanks, picking up the chair as he pulled it out to ensure the legs made absolutely no sound as they went across the carpet. "Thank you," he murmured softly, setting down his two new reference books first with the softest of hands.
Caper settled in, doing his best to take up as little of the table as possible as to not interrupt the Dryad's set up. Thankfully, the boy usually found his school work easy to get into, and other than a few soft ahs and hms, he began to write out his report for science class.
The junior honestly didn't know how long he had been working until he noticed the librarian was being relieved with night shift - just some bored senior student holding down the fort until the library closed for the evening. He blinked wildly, moving to rub at his tired eyes a** he quickly came out of his homework brain haze. "We've been here quite a while," he whispered to no one in particular, squinting to read the clock from across the room. It was late and his mother probably had already made dinner. It was most likely cold by now, but he doubted Evan had even noticed he hadn't returned home yet.
Standing up carefully, Caper gently closed his books. "I am done with homework for today," he informed Cuileann with a soft smile. "Thank you again for all your help. I hope you have a good night," he told her sincerely, gathering up all his materials in his arms.

Cuileann was absorbed in her schoolwork, she prefers to do all her schoolwork in the library. It is quiet and she can find reference materials when she needs them.
Suddenly Casper stood up as if tired said he was finished with his schoolwork for the day and bade her a good night. Looking up at him she nodded then said "I was happy to help you, the library is a quiet place to do schoolwork. I usually am here every evening after school. The dorms are too noisy I can not concentrate" she explained. "If you ever need help again you can always find me here, I hope we can be friends" she waved and told him "Goodnight" before returning to her schoolwork.
