Abilities:
> Blade of Shades: Nothing particularly powerful, just like any other sword but forged from shadows around him. As such he doesn't carry it on his waist all the time but he can create it. Something he doesn't really wish to use and so far only called it more than once for the wish to be able to control it to avoid accidental injuries. He isn't really a fighter however, only ever strikes out to protect those dear to him. (And it rarely includes this blade)
> Shadow Orb: He can call upon an orb of shadow. It can be thrown at people but it's not very strong as an attack. At most it might leave a burn-mark.

Personality:
Unlike you would normally hear about demons and other shadow creatures, Damen is very friendly. He doesn't like to fight unless he absolutely has to. He is very protective about those he cares about and has a wish to take care of the ones he loves. He is not naive or gullible however, you'll find it difficult to trick him. He is very intelligent, but also somewhat of a dreamer. Yet it is this dreamer mentality that makes him so good at what he does.
Bio:
He was born in the bare plains of Iral in Odoraen, an island far onto the ocean. His parents were well known among the community of darker entities but they weren't really home a lot. And as result, neither was Damen. His parents were both pretty hit with wanderlust and since the child always came with them, he hasn't grown up among the fiends. This resulted into the boy growing into a man with a soft and gentle heart. However on his travels he did see a lot of creatures and he began mimicking them as a young boy just for play. Seeing their child grow up as such, eventually his parents decided to never return Damen to the stretches of Iral, to safeguard the boy's life. Instead the chose to leave him behind at a trusted elf they met on their travels.
It was from then on that the boy received a normal education. As he grew into a fine young man and went to High School, his talent with engineering first came to light. Not just did he have the talent, Damen also enjoyed it thoroughly so once he finished the school at age eighteen, he went on to university for engineering. This soon proved to be a great decision. As he learned more, his natural talent with creating machines and repairing them soared high above the rest. This was why he was offered an exclusive offer to follow classes to earn a Master's degree. Since he loved it so much to be tinkering and putting together all sorts of things, Damen happily accepted much to the pride of his caretaker and his parents once they learned about his prowess. They would still visit a lot after all.
When he graduated for the Master's degree, Damen was 23 and he was ready to go out into the world. By doing so, he was suddenly exposed to a lot of different creatures while no longer confined to a campus. It was at this time that he met a lady who quickly became his closest friend. However she wasn't without her secrets and one of these secrets caught up to her after a while. As the two were walking down the streets one night from a bar they had been, they were set upon by some men with ill intentions. Damen disliked fighting, but he wasn't unable to so he took it upon himself to protect his friend. The fight dragged on for a while until one of the assailants made a move towards the young lady and in an instant reaction with a deep desire to defend her, Damen unexpectedly unlocked a ability his people have to call upon a sword as black as the shadows. With it Damen managed to fight back the men after recovering from his initial surprise. The fight ended in pretty much a draw as they ran off but at least his friend was safe.
This all puzzled the young man, but the sword had already disappeared and left him rather exhausted. The duo went to her home, as it was closest and Damen stayed the night there, but unwilling to face her after what had happened he left before she woke up, never to return. Instead he left the land behind and moved to a different country where he picked up an as normal as possible life, though afraid he might need the sword again, Damen practiced so he could control it better and over time he managed to overcome the exhaustion that came with it. Between those practices he looked for odd jobs.
At first he just took up any job that needed engineers, but soon he decided to strike out on his own. Damen started with a small company that worked on projects on their own accord and if the product was up to their high standards they would sell them. This was all going really well, but what Damen really wanted was to make people happy. So his attention shifted to making automation toys for children. These days he is 26 and that is still what he does, but he has been getting rather overworked with requests and expectations piling up lately and wanted a calmer environment, take a vacation for a while as well. As he looked at places to go, his attention fell on Soleil. It looked absolutely like paradise and it would help the man to wind down and take a step back. It didn't take long for him to begin his journey and he was headed for his new home in paradise.
After arriving at Soleil, Damen was still heavily pre-occupied with his work for quite a while. But slowly the calm and serenity of Soleil has eased him down a bit. Some shocking events (Halloween, shooting, stabbing among other RPers) have happened since he arrived, but it wasn’t enough to make him tense again. After a few weeks, Damen went to the coffee shop for the first time, to see how the coffee was at Moonbucks. This is where he met Mark. An insecure young man that seemed a little shy. But Damen welcomed the company. After that day they met up more often and as they met more, the demon was falling for them, heavily. However due to his heritage and his history he kept it a secret for a long time. That was until a series of events happened. Mark was at his home and a burglar broke in thinking the house was still empty. When they ran into Mark they attacked and tried to kill the young man. Damen however had not trusted the situation after hearing his friend joke about the door and had rushed to their home. Mark escaped himself already and Damen was just in time to incapacitate the assailant before they got to the other to finish the job, this shocked Damen to the core. And then soon after Mark’s parents came and wanted to take him away. By a series of bickering between the parents and Damen they found out that Mark’s father works at the company that Damen owns and they managed to send off the parents without Mark. That was the day Mark and Damen became a couple as well and Mark learned what Damen truly was. After that their relationship has been going swimmingly. They spent a lot of time together and Mark is more at Damen’s than their own home.
In the aftermath of Mark and him breaking up (amicably) and Mark moving far away, Damen has completely reverted to his usual work behavior, spending almost all his time on his company, to just not think about it. He is currently in the middle of business discussions with John Castle. These business meetings with John Castle are about investments. By now, Damen has completed several deals in both directions. Some are an investment in his company, others are an investment from him in another's company and equal trades in shares.
