Fav. Food: Potatoes. He has no particular preference for how they’re prepared. He likes them mashed, whipped, baked, roasted, boiled, made into soup, cut into fries, sliced into chips, or shredded into hash-browns.
Lovely’s also grown quite fond of pizza, but only if the crust is thin. He won’t eat any of that deep dish s**t. His favorite is margherita pizza, but in the absence of that he’ll eat plain cheese, or sausage and pepperoni when he’s feeling adventurous.
Hated Food: Soggy bread, and anything slathered in condiments. He likes ketchup and mayonnaise (separately, not together), but he doesn’t need to drown s**t in either one of them. Also, brussel sprouts and peas are absolutely disgusting.
School/Occupation: He was homeschooled until moving to Destiny City, where he attended Azure Valley from 2014 to January of 2016. He then tested out of school and got his diploma early. He has absolutely no intention of going to college and now does support/visual work at a local department store.
Hobbies:
Drawing – Lovely has always been something of an aspiring artist. While he has absolutely no desire to share any of his work with the world, he nonetheless puts a lot of time into developing his artistic abilities. He’s spent quite a while exploring different mediums, but he’s found the most success with drawing. Lovely is frequently seen with a sketch pad and pencil at hand, sketching and doodling whatever happens to strike his fancy at any given time. He has a realistic style honed from years of practice, with a particular fondness for drawing an array of animals, monsters, and people. Sometimes he considers taking up painting again.
Music – At his mother’s insistence, Lovely began playing the piano at a young age. He was considered a prodigy, but he never thought much of his success. To this day, he insists he is a mediocre pianist. Even so, he’s always had a fondness for music. Once, he greatly preferred classical pieces, but he’s branched out over the years and enjoys a wide variety of genres these days. He prefers to listen at random rather than choosing anything specific, always on the search for something new. Lovely hates the silence and prefers to have music playing wherever he happens to be.
Cooking – Lovely grew up in a household that did not require him to cook on his own. He ate at fancy restaurants, or had one of his brothers or (in some instances) a chef to prepare his meals for him. Since becoming estranged from his family, he’s had to fend for himself, and he’s discovered that he actually likes cooking. Is he good at it? Not particularly, but he also isn’t horrible, and he’s gotten better as the years go on. At this point, he’s collected and perfected numerous recipes. He tends to experiment on the weekends, when he has the time and motivation to try something new.
Work – One might not think a pampered rich kid would want to get his hands dirty when he could easily sit around living the life of the independently wealthy, but Lovely actually likes his job at the department store. Are the customers annoying? Yes. But he doesn’t work the register so he can duck into a stockroom and escape from them when he needs to. He likes the routine that comes with it and doesn’t mind the hours. He’s been known to work overtime for no other reason than his desire to keep busy. If he wasn’t busy, he’d be bored. Lovely and boredom do not mix well. (The employee discount doesn’t hurt either.)
Virtues:
Adaptable – Lovely isn’t afraid of change. Not so very long ago, he went from relying on his family’s money for everything to being broke and living in a dump of an apartment with his one-time rival for company. Did he struggle at first? Yes. Did he complain about it at the time? Absolutely. But he came out of it with more resilience and tenacity, and a greater sense of independence than he would have gained otherwise. Lovely isn’t the type to give up. He’ll attack a situation until he solves the problem or finds some way to live with whatever the outcome turns out to be. As long as he still has something to live for, he can make the most out of anything.
Loyal – Though he lacks an interest in acquiring friends, Lovely is at least loyal to the few he has. Admittedly, it isn’t easy to earn his respect, trust, or affection, but when someone does manage it, Lovely will stand by them through thick and thin. Often, he might seem arrogant and callous; he doesn’t care to draw close to or open himself up to very many people. When he does, it is with a stubborn sort of dedication that borders on obsession. For the special few, he will overlook their flaws and put everything he has into supporting them, even if it means making a few sacrifices along the way. Being as sullen and dramatic as he is, Lovely will of course make a point to remind them of the inconvenience at any chance he gets.
Cautious – Lovely isn’t the type to jump right into things without giving it some serious thought first. He would rather hang back and assess a situation until he’s determined the expected outcome (and level of danger). In the event that he ignores some concerning signs, he still won’t proceed without ensuring there’s a plan in place to deal with it. He isn’t exactly methodical, but his course of action is at least partially thought out. Lovely also possesses a healthy dose of skepticism. He doesn’t trust others without proof of honesty and reliability. He figures if he assumes the worst about everything (or close enough to the worst) that he’ll be pleasantly surprised when things go well, rather than disappointed when things go wrong.
Reliable – For all of his flaws, Lovely is at least dependable. If he says he’ll do something, he’ll do it. It might take some time depending on current circumstances, but it will get done. He used to be the responsible type — he paid attention in school, he made good grades, he did his homework, he never partied or misbehaved in any way that might earn punishment or disapproval — and while he’s relaxed his standards quite a bit in recent years, he’s rerouted that energy into ensuring that he is at least a reliable friend, partner, and employee. He keeps his promises and gives those he’s allowed into his life few reasons to doubt his dedication to them.
Flaws:
Hostile – Lovely is not a nice or agreeable person. He is caustic and mean. He is intentionally rude, especially to those who’ve found themselves on his bad side. He can find fault in anyone or anything. He doesn’t know the meaning of the words “constructive criticism” and refuses to sugarcoat, with the result that he tends to come across as exceedingly negative. His insults rarely lack bite; Lovely will aim as low as he can go. He will brood when things don’t go his way, he’ll lash out when he’s stressed, and he has a bit of a snappish attitude when challenged.
Selective – In general, Lovely doesn’t like people. People are stupid and annoying, and he’s convinced himself that becoming acquainted with more people than he has to won’t benefit him at all, so he doesn’t try. He’s picky about who he accepts as friends, and insists he hates everyone else. He might be loyal, but it takes a lot for anyone to earn that loyalty. He will judge people by what they can offer him, he will make them jump through hoops before he even considers lowering his defenses, and if they happen to succeed, there’s a very good chance he’ll never vocalize his decision to allow them into his life.
Apathetic – Unless you’ve managed to earn his respect or affection, Lovely does not care about you. He doesn’t care about your life. He doesn’t care about your comfort. He doesn’t care to hear any of the words that come out of your mouth. He will ignore those he deems unworthy and ensure that they are aware that he’s ignoring them. “Who are you again?” he might ask. “Oh wait, I just realized, I don’t care.” He sees no point in pretending to like or tolerate someone he has no interest in. It’s a waste of his time and energy and, frankly, he has more important things to be doing.
Possessive – If Lovely has claimed something — whether it’s a person or an object — it is his and his alone, and he will not share. If he’s forced to share, he will make his displeasure known loudly and repeatedly. Lovely is selfish and he knows it, and as in many things, he just doesn’t give a damn. He will fight for whatever it is if he has to — viciously, depending on who might be trying to take it from him. He’s been known to act with jealousy, particularly when someone he cares about turns their attention to someone else. If people aren’t turned off by his hostility and his apathetic nature, the possessiveness tends to accomplish it easily enough.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Lovely’s eyes are a light purple that would seem at odds with his acerbic nature if they weren’t often narrowed in a show of arrogance or annoyance. They’re arguably his most expressive feature and generally display his every mood, even when he’s making an effort to keep his expression neutral. If not for his perpetually moody disposition, Lovely’s eyes would show themselves to be large yet striking, fringed by long blond lashes that would otherwise help soften his appearance a bit.
Hair: Lovely’s hair is a pale golden blond and naturally wavy. He’s grown it out over the years and it now falls over his shoulder blades. He insists he just keeps forgetting to get it cut, which might be a believable excuse if he wasn’t friendly with the hairdresser who lives in one of the apartments upstairs. He lets his hair hang free a lot, sometimes with his bangs and the sides pinned out of the way to show off his ear piercings. When he’s at work, Lovely has a habit of pulling it into loose ponytails and messy buns to keep it restrained. He doesn’t usually buy his own hair accessories, though, choosing instead to “borrow” bands, clips, and pins from his co-workers and the aforementioned hairdresser upstairs, all the while pretending as if he has every intention of giving them back.

Face: Lovely is a pretty boy with a bit of a baby face. Despite his status as an adult, he still looks quite young, with soft, fine features that give him an androgynous appearance he used to rebel against, but which he has now grown into with a notable level of fondness. His face is heart-shaped, with a delicate jaw and small chin. His nose is small, slim, and slightly upturned. His lips are full and often petulantly pouty. Scattered across his nose and cheekbones, one can see a splash of light freckles.
Skin Tone: Lovely is very fair skinned — not so pale as to look sickly, but he definitely burns easily under the sun.
Body Type: For Lovely, the gangliness of adolescence has evolved into more of a willowy frame, with long, slim limbs on a short, narrow torso. He is naturally thin, with only the slightest hint of muscle definition. Lovely has a hard time putting on weight and can look quite scrawny next to someone with a fuller figure. He isn’t too terribly short, but he isn’t tall either, standing at 5’8”.
Clothes: Once upon a time, Lovely used to dress like a posh little rich kid, with a wardrobe full of cardigans and crisp button-down shirts, neatly pressed trousers, silk ties, and a "modest" collection of designer shoes. Since moving out of his older brother’s house and losing access to his family’s money, Lovely’s wardrobe has become notably less dapper — but also, in Lovely’s opinion, notably more fashionable.
He favors jeans peppered with rips and tears, usually in a dark wash, low slung and as tight as he can realistically squeeze himself into. He likes faded band t-shirts — all for bands he’s never seen in person and doesn’t particularly like beyond a few songs — which tend to sport noticeable holes in the fabric as well, some of which occurred as the fabric was naturally worn, but many of which he put there himself. He also owns quite a few t-shirts printed with random logos, or phrases he thinks are funny, or vulgar terminology he thinks might offend the more hoity-toity crowd he used to hang around. He uses flannel shirts as accessories, leaving them tied around his hips unless he happens to get cold and has nothing else to use for a jacket. He’s cut the sleeves off of a few and will wear them over tank tops. He loves hoodies and has a growing collection of leather jackets in a variety of colors, but his favorite is bright blue. For shoes, he tends to stick to Converses, and a well worn pair of combat boots. The most common colors in his wardrobe are black, white, gray, blue, purple, and sometimes red.
Lovely’s also discovered a fondness for jewelry. He likes to layer necklaces, usually plain, thin chains, but he’s not against a small pendant or simple charm. He owns a couple of different chokers, and he likes simple rings — nothing huge or gaudy, but he wears multiple rings at a time to make up for the lack of bling. He has a few bracelets, too — usually leather, sometimes a few chains, but rarely anything beaded unless he likes the colors. The most prevalent type of jewelry he owns are earrings. He has several piercings in each ear now and likes to mismatch them, so he ends up getting a lot of random studs at the department store he works at.
