It had moved on from the frosty, early part of spring where crocuses had to fight their way through the cold earth to something warmer and more alive. The April showers came in the afternoon, and every morning the grass seemed to be perked up, soft and strong from the water with its leaves the bright green of new beginnings. It was the kind of thing that made Pendour want to come out. She liked seeing leaves and flowers unfurl from hibernation.

There were things that made her want to stay in, too, wrapped up in a slightly lighter pile of blankets with some Netflix. She was still all jumpy about the way she could feel Chaos auras drifting around her own when she powered up, the way the lump formed in her throat when she thought of how just one more encounter could leave her dead, or fully blind. She was getting better about it. She'd started out carefully, and met people, made a few friends, even talked to a corrupt senshi without coming away more scarred. That success had her feeling a little bolder. It also had her feeling a little more driven. Any answers she'd found in that time had just led to more questions. What was the nature of Chaos, exactly? What could she do to help?

Those weren't answers she would find in her bedroom, and so she called her power to her and she walked the city. She still kept to the scenic routes, and she used to plants to bring her courage. When she felt a Chaos aura close by, she made herself stop and admire the blooms on a magnolia tree instead of skittering home.

Pendour was starting to understand the auras better than she once had. She had time to stop and try to feel out this one while she waited for the person to cross her path. She thought that it felt more like a senshi’s aura, even though it was dark as dark. Even though it was stronger, it wasn’t as strong as it could be, wasn’t a general’s aura. That was good. That would have been enough to spend Pendour running, unanswered questions or no.

She looked up when the aura was followed by footsteps, although she kept her blind side turned partially away on instinct. After looking over her mass of green hair, Pendour’s eye focused in on those awful cracks in her chest and her head. Another broken senshi, then.

“It was the flowers,” she said, her voice barely loud enough to carry the distance. “But, um, I think it’s you, now.” She tried to smile, she really did. “Hello.”

The fear spiked when the senshi came closer.

It was too late for her to change her mind and run, now, if she needed to, though she wasn't quite feeling the need to run, either. There wasn't anything aggressive about the senshi, other than the Chaos dripping off of her in waves.

She blinked once at the offer before nodding. "O-okay." Her voice was soft, but her movements more confident as she reached over to brush her fingers across the woman's forehead, turning to meet her face to face in the process. Pendour was a tactile person, and she had been wondering.

She didn't think she liked the wallflower comment, but she didn't mention it. "Well, some people come out to fight," she said. "I come out to find lovely things."

Friends, mostly, but she didn't mind the flowers when that failed.
