Safari Contest - Abandoned Research Facility [Closed]

Veronica heard about the Safari and after much thought, she decided to participate... And aim for the win. She brought with her Cherry the shadow Absol in hopes of starting the process of purification on her. They traveled into the main zone of the facility.

At first, it seemed like nothing had appeared. "It's really, awfully quiet." That's when she felt something touch her shoulder and her spine felt an electric shock and the heat of fear. Her face instantly turned to it, only to find a small joltik climbing down from its web. Her widen eyes slowly returned to normal as her mind registered how fast her heart kept beating. "Cherry." She called with a certain dryness of annoyance and anger that was left after the shock passed. "Incinerate." She would not tolerate this awful experience and ordered Cherry to burn everything, the Joltik and its web. The Joltik was no match for the Absol, although as the fire died down both Veronica and Cherry realized that they should probably cool it down... and consider themselves lucky that no other tiny critters came at them in that moment.

Veronica sighed. "I did not come to Alola for this nonesense." she said, trying to calm herself down by hearing her own words in the silence of the creepy, abandoned place. "I guess we're here now may as well get the Safari stuff over with." she kept ranting, "I really didn't think it would be a place like this. Aren't islands supposed to be vacation hot spots?" She shook her head and started to walk. Cherry seemed midly bothered that Veronica was being the nonesense. Veronica peeked into one of the rooms and decided to open the door.

Inside was a break room with a table made of cement and its chairs knocked over. What was left of the fridge was also on its side. A Yungoos scurried by, then it smelled Cherry and turned to snarled at the Absol. In quick movements, it jumped forward to Bite at Cherry. Cherry retaliated by using Psycho Cut to push the Yungoos back and then Razor Wind to finish it off. "Ok, well, you know... Maybe I could have caught that one..." She wondered out loud. "I guess this place IS full of pokemon. Let's keep going." She lowered herself to check on Cherry before moving forward to the hallway.

Veronica was feeling more adjusted to the environment, despite how eerie it was, and bravely opened the next door that could be opened. There was an awful smell. There were splatters on the walls and pools on the floor, full of blood. To the right, pieces of what she assumed to be meat and skin were left to rot. To the left, the long intestine of some poor fool was being dragged away into another room. There was a window on the wall that connected the two rooms but she couldn't see what it was. "So much for abandoned and safe."

Both Veronica and Cherry took very small steps to the other room. Careful to see what would come out. But whatever had done this was far gone as they saw a mere Alolan Rattata chewing out the guts. At least... she hoped that was the case. "You know, maybe we should leave." As she said that, another Alolan Rattata appeared behind her. And another to her left. And another where the first one was. "Cherry! Attack, quickly!" She kept looking in all directions.
Cherry, also feeling the pressure, pulled out a new move: Dark Pulse. She pushed out her dark energy in all directions. However, it only got the attention of the rats. "Again." Veronica said in her surprise. With a second Dark Pulse, the rats decided to leave. Veronica ran as soon as they cleared out and closed the door after Cherry followed.

Veronica looked at Cherry. If Cherry could talk, perhaps she would respond with a 'nope.' But Veronica decided that this was her chance to find a real winner. "How much worst can it get?" She insisted on continuing down to the end of the hall way where she would have to turn either left or right.

If she hadn't paid much attention, perhaps she would have turned the wrong direccion as the silhoutte of an Abra was barely visible. It was almost as if it was an illusion, or that the Abra wished to hide. Perhaps it would have been successful in camouflaging if it had just been a pokemon walking by. With care, she approached. "Use Razor Wind." The Absol followed the order, throwing the force of the wind in the general direction. It made the Abra to fully appear as it was thrown back. Although it did not seem to care much for the battle, Veronica threw out a Safari ball right away in hopes of capturing it.

Tick. Tick. And as soon as the Safari ball opened again, the Abra teleported out. "Damn..." She looked at Cherry whom sighed as her trainer would have. "Funny. Let's just keep going, maybe down there will be rarer pokemon." She said, hoping that there was and that there wasn't.

Before they could even reach the next room, a Salandit ran out and saw them. It stood up, mocking and taunting them. Cherry reacted right away and used Psycho Cut to land an effective hit on the critter. "Ah, but it's so cute. I've never seen that lizard pokemon before..." Veronica whispered to herself and threw out a Safari ball. "Come on, already!"
