Daphne was struggling with the loss of her sister, and wasn’t quite sure how to handle it all. One moment Talia was there, and the next she was gone, buried in the ground. Cold.

And she was alone.

Luckily, she was powering up and going on a patrol date with Nubi today, which was something that could at least bring a ghost of a smile to her face. It wasn’t that she wanted to forget her sister...she just wasn’t sure how to cope with the loss. It wasn’t something she had ever anticipated.

Nobody ever anticipated losing their best friend.

When Periclase powered up and still felt out of sorts, though she managed a smile when she saw the other corrupt and walked over, hugging the blonde with a firm embrace. “Hey. I’m excited to patrol with you tonight. Maybe you and I will be able to find something fun to do, yeah?”

Something to get her mind off of Talia.

The order aura that felt pretty near seemed like it could turn into something fun.

Nubi always looked forward to her outings with Peri. The two of them made the perfect tag team of disruption for the night. It took all of her worries during the day and completely erased them, one drained citizen at a time.

They had agreed on a meeting space and the whole while, one the very edge of her radar, she could feel the sense of order near by. That was probably why she was distracted when Peri arrived, her attention was focused on keeping track or it. Or studying it. Maybe they were interested in seeking her out. This could turn into a very fun night.

Nubi had been in the habit of ignoring the chaos signatures around her. Before she wouldn't have minded checking them out, seeing who was on the other side, but now she had partners to patrol with. So she mostly just avoided them. When Peri was close enough that she couldn't be ignored though, Nubi spun around to find herself in the embrace of her new friend.

"Aw, Curls. I'm so happy you could make it tonight!" Looking her friend in the face though, something seemed a bit off. Though, it was hard to place and her mind was still very much on the Order signature that was still nearby. At the mention of fun to do, Nubi could tell Peri also sensed the order signature. It was time they upped their game. Once you were good enough at hunting geese, it was only natural that you search out a tougher prey, right?

"I think if we head that-a-way, we might find something suitable for this evening's entertainment." Nubi was fairly confident in her skills. Though, it hadn't been tested that much in any real combat. There was always a first time for everything and with Peri here, what could possibly go wrong?

Peri nodded and nuzzled against Nubi’s soft skin for a moment before pulling away. “Of course I could make it tonight. Do you think there’s anywhere else I’d rather be? Being with you is…just about the best place, Nubi.”

She took a moment and placed a kiss on the other corrupt’s neck, and forced a grin. “I feel it too. We could have some fun with whoever it is…they feel stronger though so it’s a good thing that we’re together, I think.”

It was so easy to let her fingers slip in between the blonde’s and she tugged her along, creeping closer to the sickeningly sweet aura that belonged to one of the stupid white mooners. “I’ve had a few run ins lately. I wonder if this is one of those.”

She was lucky that it wasn’t. Peri didn’t know the redhead who sat at the edge of the lake in the park, her feet kicking lightly in the water, which must be frigid.

Albireo felt the two chaotic auras coming towards her and sighed, wondering if she should have put her shoes back on when she felt them start moving in, but she had decided against it. The water felt so nice on her feet, which were still sore from her dancing earlier in the day, and she just hadn’t quite had the energy to move.

Perhaps she shouldn’t have gone out on patrol after such a busy day but she had wanted to. It was her duty to go out and try to help…and she enjoyed it now. It was easy to power up, easy to get lost again in the world she remembered…easy to look for familiar faces.

Not that she ever found any but…she always looked.

Quietly she sighed. “I’m not sure what it is that you two want, but I’m sure that you won’t find it with me. Perhaps you should just run along home now.” Her voice was strong, bored. And she hoped that the two…whatever they were would get the idea and leave.

The gentle nuzzle and light kiss were almost enough for Nubi to say 'to heck with this, let's just go home', but then that could wait for later this evening. She really needed to take her work as a Senshi more seriously, and more importantly Cavansite had said from the beginning that their job was to fight against the influence of the White Moon. This was too good of an opportunity to ignore. So, she placed a quick little kiss on Peri's adorable nose and then allowed herself to be lead off by the other.

Sometimes she forgot that Peri was more experienced with these things. Sure, Nubi had been out and sensed Order before, but she had yet found a reason to inspect the source. "Well, this is a good chance for a round two if it is someone familiar."

As they got closer though, her curly-haired friend didn't make any mention that she recognized the girl sitting by the lake. It was still cold outside, especially at night. How could anyone stand to dip their feet in that frigid water? The thought of it sent a cold chill down her spine.

It was no secret that the whole 'radar' thing worked both ways. It was still a surprise when the other girl spoke up first. Nubi wondered if it was fake confidence in her voice or if this was really going to be challenge. The red-head didn't even bother to glance in their direction. She wasn't actually in an advantageous situation. Two corrupts behind her and a freezing lake in front of her. Did she really feel like things would pan out for her?

"Oh well, you know. I was just looking to have a little bit of fun. Red-heads are famously known for how deliciously fun they can be. I was hoping you might join us for the evening?" As she talked she let go of Peri's hand and trailed her fingers up her arm. Playing coy might be the best way to go here. Her magic wouldn't work if she couldn't see the other girls' face anyway. First, she needed to get her to turn around at least.

Periclase seemed a little surprised herself by the senshi’s bold statement, though even more surprised by Nubi’s response to her, coupled with the shivery feeling that she got when the other corrupt decided to pretend that her fingers were a spider and…well. Suddenly the thought of spending this evening with the redhead didn’t sound so bad. Especially not if they could stain her pretty outfit black…she would make a good addition. Heck, perhaps she could even belong to the two of them.

“A bit of fun does sound nice, and you are quite pretty from what I can see.” Peri worked to make her voice sound compelling, alluring.

She wrapped and arm around Nubi’s waist and watched the girl for a moment. “We can have a lot of fun if you wanted to hang out with us.”

Albireo paused and for a moment just almost snorted at the absurd invitation, though there was a part of her, a small part of her that said to take them up on their offer, that perhaps she could save them if they learned to trust her.

It was a few long moments before she answered, taking the time to slip her numb feet back into her shoes and lace them up again before she stood and turned to look at the two corrupted senshi, feeling a small twang of jealousy as she saw how friendly they were with one another. Perhaps if she had found a friend. Someone like that…she would have found it in her to stay but…there had been nobody.

Not that she did anything for the Negaverse. She was quite sure they had forgotten all about her. Though now that she had run into Zink again. Well.

So much for being safe.

“What did you two have in mind, hm? You want me to cuddle up with you and what, we kiss and tumble around in the grass for a little while? Or were you hoping that I’d be your plaything and you could steal my energy and convince me what a blessing chaos it?”

When Peri played along with her ruse, Nubi couldn't have been prouder. A gave her friend a quick sideways glance, filled with approval and a desire to be somewhere else at the moment. She was still full of surprises even in a moment like this. How lucky she had been to run into the perfect partner that night.

Maybe, for a small moment, she thought that this didn't have to be some ruse to get the woman to stand and face them. Maybe this could be something else. There were other ways to destroy their enemies that didn't involve getting them completely out of the picture.

"It's true, we are excellent company." It took a moment for the other girl to respond and 'Nubi only waited patiently because she wanted to see how she would react. Maybe there could be a little time for some fooling around before getting serious, but she had no intention of letting the White Moon Senshi in front of them leave this evening in the same state she had begun it.

Sadly, it didn't seem like their quarry had any intention of playing along with them. It was maybe a little disappointing, but that would have been diverging from her original plan to begin with anyway.

"I was kind of hoping to do a little bit of all those things, but you don't seem like the type to be easily convinced. Which is sad." It had been fun though, to toy with the idea. She gave Peri's shoulder a little squeeze, but kept her eyes locked on her opponent.

Her hand slide back down Peri's arms and she took on step forward, hoping that would keep the Senshi's attention on her. She had yet to test her magic out on another Senshi. Now was as good a time as any. "Basilisk's Venomous Gaze." Even before she had finished the words her eyes had begun to glow, all she needed was eye contact for this to work. It was a fairly straight forward bit of magic.

Peri tried to keep the excited smile off of her face as she listened to the senshi’s response. It hadn’t sounded much like a no to her, she just sounded...as though she were over such interactions like this, but then ‘Nubi moved a step away from her and she saw her partner’s eyes glow a bright green for a moment.

Ah! That must be her magic...how interesting, and if this was how they were going to play, she could join in. “It’s a shame, it really is...we could have had so much fun with you, pretty one. But don’t worry, I’ll give you parting Hemlock’s Kiss, to show you just how much I care anyway...maybe it will convince you to come and play.”

She kissed the palm of her hand and blew the flower bunches at the senshi, stepping to join ‘Nubi again and running a hand down her back. “You should just be ours. We’d take good care of you, I’ll bet.”

Albireo had taken another step closer, a wry smile on her face. “I don’t seem like the type to be convinced, hm? Well, I--”

She was caught off guard by the magic, and tensed suddenly for a blow when she heard the words spoken, keeping her eyes on the corrupts and meeting the eyes of the blonde at the wrong moment.

The world seemed to spin and Albireo felt shivery and weak, her breath coming in short gasps. “What…”

The purple haired corrupt mentioned something about kissing and as the senshi swayed on her feet, she saw flowers coming towards her. Was it more magic? She reached out to swat it away instinctively, and one of the small bunches connected with her outstretched hand.

The dizziness suddenly doubled and with a weak, startled cry, Albireo sank to her knees, trembling as though she were dangerously ill with the flu. “What...what have you done to me…?” There was fear in her voice now, and she tried to keep her eyes open, tried to focus on the corrupts who had done this, but the world spun too quickly to focus on.

'Nubi had played her part well and so had Peri. The game was to act like they were just out for a quick chat, maybe a little bit of light flirting, anything really to catch the other girl's attention. If that hadn't worked, she probably would have started throwing insults. Worse case scenario, she'd have to go over there herself and start a fight up close and personally.

Unfortunately for the White Moon Senshi, she kept her eyes right on her. Probably expecting some sort of manifestation of her magic, hoping to dodge out of the way if she was quick enough. Wrong move, though admittedly what 'Nubi would probably do herself if she were meeting a strange Senshi for the first time in battle. She knew her magic had worked when there was a slight sway to her step and Peri followed up at the perfect moment. That couldn't have been a very pleasant experience.

There magic wouldn't last forever though, they was a very small window of opportunity here. "That was excellent teamwork Curls~" 'Nubi beamed at her friend and tugged at her hand for a moment to get her to follow her over to the fallen Senshi.

'Nubi carefully made her way over to the mystery Senshi, she was really quite out of it, but all it took was uttering a few words to call on her own magic. She seemed more stunned then anything, probably surprised by how quickly they had sprung into action. She sat down on her own knees in front of he other girl and gently lifted her face up with her left hand.

"You really are quite lovely on the outside, but it's what's on the inside that truly matters. Right?" 'Nubi spoke gently, sweetly even. While her voice was soft though, her eyes shined with something more dangerous. While her left hand stayed in place, and her eyes looked into those of her quarry, she slipped her right hand into the Senshi's chest, reaching for something she knew was there. There was more resistance then there was with the average civilian, but given enough effort something finally came out.

Periclase beamed and followed the other senshi to where the pretty White Mooner sat. Her mind was churning, trying to imagine how that fuku would look if it were black, trying to think of how great it would feel to have this pretty thing under her. Under both her and ‘Nubi. Not just under their supervision but…

Perhaps under them in another way too.

A stupid smile crossed her face and she joined her friend in kneeling beside the senshi, her own hand moving to stroke the soft orange hair, nodding, though paused when she saw ‘Nubi reaching in. When she saw the glistening blue gem that she drew out of the Senshi’s chest. For a moment she wasn’t sure what to think…what to feel.

For a moment she just looked stupidly down at the redhead, and felt a disorientating feeling of falling, as in her mind, the girl’s face shifted to that of her twin.

“…Oh.”

Albireo was trying to keep her breathing even, trying to clear her vision. She felt the corrupts growing closer, and when the blonde began speaking, lifting her chin and gazing into her eyes, Albireo stupidly relaxed. The words, though she couldn’t quite understand them were gentle, and the hand stroking her hair was so pleasant.

She smiled softly and gave a little sigh, at least until she felt a sharp pain as a hand was placed inside of her chest.
No.

Oh no, no, no…she didn’t want to corrupt.

The senshi began to tremble and when the starseed was removed, she gave a soft whimper and her eyes closed, body slumping to the ground.

For a moment the smile almost made her stop what she was doing. This was what they were supposed to do though. Rid the world of one White Moon at a time. So, she completed what she was told to do and told herself that she should be proud. That Cavansite would be proud and that the starseed in her hand was beautiful and exactly where it was supposed to be.

What really caught her off guard was Peri and her reaction, or lack there of. She thought the other girl would be happy, but at the redheada fell to the side and 'Nubi stood up, starseed still held gently in her hand, she could tell something was wrong.

"Periclase?" It was rare for 'Nubi to suddenly start calling a friend by a proper name, but she could tell this wasn't a time for cute nicknames. "Are you okay? You look pale..." Her face showed concern, which was definitely not a look she wore very often. Her twin often told her she had a problem 'reading the room', but she knew her friend well enough by now to know when something was really bothering her.

"Was it something I did? Should we have gone a bit slower?" Because of course the problem had been with the execution, right? It had been a bit rushed, 'Nubi could admit she was a little worried about drawing things out too long against an enemy who was stronger then them. Even if she was out numbered. It seemed the smart thing to do considering this was a first for her at least.

Periclase’s mouth had gone dry and she gazed at the starseed in her friend’s hand with mounting horror. “Oh. I um. I thought…we were going to…to bring her…to corrupt her I…”

She couldn’t tear her eyes away from the small blue gem, trembling more violently than before. “…My…my sister. My Talia. She…I…” Finally she was able to close her eyes, and Peri just slumped as well. “Put it back, ‘Nubi…please put it back…Talia’s starseed got smashed…some youma took it and…shattered it before I could do anything and…I just…Please…”

Peri knew she was being weak. She knew that if Stella heard these words she wouldn’t ever be forgiven but…right now…it was just too soon. Later…she could stand it later—would stand it later but this senshi…she had looked so cute and so pretty…the idea of snuffing her out…

“She was my twin and I haven’t really…I’m so sorry…I know it’s your first starseed and…I’m so proud of you but…I can’t…please give it back…”

Oh well, Nubi supposed she hadn't made her intention very clear and Peri hadn't been in on her plan. It wasn't like they could share thoughts or anything. Corruption wasn't a bad option, but honestly 'Nubi was happy with the people on her side currently. There wasn't much room left her her crazy heart to deal with anyone else.

When Peri slumped over 'Nubi was quick to sink back down to her knees as well, trying to keep her own eyes locked with Peri as her friend founds the words to describe what was happening now. For just a moment 'Nubi was terribly hurt by those words. How could Peri keep something like that from her? Sure, they had only known each other for a few months now, but she thought there was more to it then that. Maybe she had been fooling herself, but then death wasn't an easy thing to bring up. She knew that, she knew what it was like to loose someone you loved with every cell in your body. For them to be there one morning and gone before the sun even set.

"I...I had no idea." More importantly, did that even work? All she knew was how to take, but if Peri was insisting, she wasn't going to say no. She spun around rather quickly and, surprisingly, her hand slipped into the fallen Senshi's chest with ease. She let go of the starseed and her hand quickly retreated. And she hoped it worked, hoped the girl would be okay after that. It had to have hurt, but at least it was over now.

If she was being honest with herself though, she could really care less if she woke up right then and wanted swift revenge. Her attention immediately went back to Peri and she pulled her friend into her arms.

"It's back now. Red's gonna pull through this." I mean, probably? 'Nubi hoped she would be okay for Peri's sake and that was all. "And what are we doing out here if you lost your sister? your twin? How are you even...here." What would she do without her brother? Not long ago she thought she was about to face that reality. It had shaken her to her core, it was the reason she was a Senshi now. So that she could keep anything like that from ever happening. And yet, that reality had come true for Peri. What was the right thing to even say here? For the first time in her life she could only remain silent and hope to pull Peri through this. Somehow.

The starseed was returned to the senshi’s chest and Peri managed to breathe again, and when she felt Nubi’s arms around her, she hesitated for only a moment and then buried her face in her friend’s chest, shoulders beginning to shake with silent sobs. “I promised you. You asked me and honestly? You’re all I really have, ‘Nubi. You’re my best friend and now that she’s gone…I wanted to make sure that I could go out and do this…I’m sorry for being so weak. I’ll stop it. I’ll be better I just…wasn’t ready.”

She was beginning to relax, hearing the sound of the other corrupt’s heart beating under her ear was soothing. “It was…so stupid. I could have stopped it but…I just got there too late. The youma bit down on it and it…” Peri swallowed. “It shattered. And I don’t think…there’s any going back from that…”

Not that she was aware at any rate.

Albireo was starting to come to. She drew in a sharp breath suddenly and sat up, green eyes wide with fear. The sound of crying confused her, and when the senshi of swans had the presence of mind to realize that she was alive, and that her attackers were still there, she quickly glanced around for an escape, though paused and caught the words that the purple haired corrupt was saying.

She hesitated and moved to put a hand on both of their heads, stroking softly. “I…I’m not sure what’s wrong but…I’m sure everything will be okay…You…you’ve lost someone?”

There was nothing but compassion in her voice, and though she was shaking, she wanted to help these two. Albireo hoped that maybe they could still both be saved.

After all…she was still alive.

It felt very wrong to listen to Peri apologize for everything. That was no what this was about at all. Sure, 'Nubi had started the night with a certain expectation of what would happen, but she wasn't angry or mad about it. She was just sad, sad that she hadn't seen the signs in her friend before things turn such a horrible turn. Sad that Peri thought she needed to put on this brave face for her.

All she could really do was hold her close, stroke the back oh her head, as she calmed down and listen. "What happened tonight isn't something you need to apologize for. I never would have asked for it if I had known." It was maybe a little bit of an awakening, realizing that the Negaverse, her precious Negaverse, was the cause of her friend's pain. It wasn't something she wanted to think about. She had found a second home there and now she wondered how Peri could even hold her own in this world. 'Nubi didn't want to lose her, but she still felt a sense of duty to the Negaverse, to her General, to her own twin and their adorable kitten at home.

The red-head had been forgotten until she felt a hand brush against her hair. Of course, she tensed up, holding Peri closer and shooting a quick glare in the other girl's direction. It wasn't that she was mad about what she said. It was more that she didn't trust her. They had attempted to kill her and would have succeeded. For now she was ignored by 'Nubi, though she did not like the idea of her getting much closer.

"I'll be there for you through this. I don't honestly know what all I can do. I'm not that awesome really...." Most of what 'Nubi projected to the world was just that. Her own defense to keep out troublesome people and try to get the most out of her life.

Peri stiffened at the feeling of a hand on her hair, but as she looked up and saw the senshi looking at her with worried…with a kind expression, she just shook her head and buried her face against ‘Nubi again. “It’s not your fault…I didn’t want you to know. I just wanted to move past it. To move on with my life and…I thought I’d be able to but…” She quickly wiped at her eyes, not wanting the enemy to see her crying.

The hand felt nice though, and mingled with her friend’s words, it almost seemed like she would pull through this. At this moment in time…she felt safe. Loved.

“Just having you here with me is enough, you know…” She murmured, her cheeks turning pink. “You make me happy. I didn’t realize that I was so lonely until I met you and it all just vanished into thin air.”

Her lips sought out ‘Nubi’s and she kissed her hesitantly, though the action was needy, and a little bit desperate.

Albireo swallowed as she met the tear filled gaze of the purple haired corrupt, and the death glare from the blonde. Perhaps it would be best if she were to go…this had suddenly become a far too intimate moment and she felt as though she were trespassing.

Quietly she pulled away from the two and with one last gentle ruffle to both of their silky heads, she stood up and began walking, crossing her arms over her chest to hold back the sudden wave of loneliness that she was feeling. It was nothing new. It had followed her from when she was corrupted too. But she never had someone to be her friend. She never had someone that she could cling to and cry on…she had Jarosite, sure but…

But that had been one giant complicated thing. And while it was still complicated…she was doing better.

When she glanced back and saw the purple haired girl kissing her friend, she gave a small smile and shook her head before disappearing into the night.

She was hungry though. Albireo supposed that almost dying would do that to a person.
