“A good evening for some training,” Nix declared to the darkness, as he stood on his favorite training rooftop, waiting for another senshi.

Sometimes, in situations like this, he thought of Piccolo, even though he wasn’t really a big fan of DBZ, he’d seen it all, and he shared a certain penchant with that weird green dude.

Yes, being green was it.

What ever the case, he was expecting a senshi to turn up soon. He’d only talked with her using the senshi phone, so wasn’t really sure what she’d look like, but that wasn’t terribly important.

He took a moment to consider his rooftop perch: There was a rooftop access that was always locked, a few AC units, and a small lip around the edges of the building. Nix liked to sit or stand on that edge when just waiting, and this evening he was sitting with his bulbous froggy toes dangling beneath him and swaying slowly.

Nix heard the sounds, and let her come up, figuring staring down at someone huffing and puffing their way up to the rooftop would be a bit rude.

There’d be time for watching later, of course.

“Hi Onnie!” He said happily, offering a gloved hand to shake. “It’s okay. I was just looking at the city lights while I waited. It’s pretty when it’s clear.”

“How are you doing tonight? The way up’s not too hard, right? I mean, that last jump’s a bit daunting, I know, but quite doable for us senshis!”

He may have just started rambling, he reflected, and stopped talking to let her actually say something.

Nix nodded in understanding. He was fully aware that he was a bit crazy, even by senshi standards, when it came to his activities and training.

That Onnie’s outfit was intended for a little girl didn’t really faze him. He’d seen all kinds of outfits from Senshis, so didn’t judge.

“Hmm, well, I was thinking,” he began, idly shaking his hand after it was free of the shake, “we could practice, uh...running and jumping. Can make it clear to that building over there,” he pointed across a gap that would be downright suicidal for a normal person, “pretty easy. If you feel like you need practice with that.”

“Or,” he added, raising a finger, “we can practice fighting with our magic—trying it out in a situation where nobody’s trying to kill you is always important, I think!”

“Oh, you are?” Nix replied. “I thought Chibis...” he stopped there, figuring that ‘I thought that just meant you were a little kid’ wouldn’t be well received. “Never mind,” he said instead. “We could find out, of course, but, uh...freezing up isn’t that great...hmm...”

He considered briefly, then suggested, “You can use your power on me, if you want to, you know, know what it does more safely. And maybe figure out a good way to use it in a fight. If you have a plan, it’s harder to freeze up!”

Nix just shrugged sheepishly at the girl’s reaction. It felt chibi to him, but he wasn’t gonna say so.

He braced for impact when she cast her spell (he was pretty sure that wasn’t the phrase for it, but it sounded cooler than anything else). When it hit, he said, “Oh, gosh, that itches!” and rubbed at the spots.

He let it go for the duration, so that she’d know how long it lasted. “Okay, uh, definitely not a direct-attack like mine is, but that’s still good! There’s no real way for your enemies to know what it does any more than you did at first, so...you could probably use it as a distraction or misdirection even if you completely miss them.”

“But, uh, doesn’t seem like something to rely on to, you know, stop them in their tracks if they’re out for blood. So...Let’s focus on regular hand-to-hand stuff tonight, and maybe we’ll think of a good specific use for it along the way!” He grinned at her encouragingly. “So, let’s do this!”

Nix got into a fighting stance in preparation to talk her through whatever he might do this evening. It might be a bit tiring, or repetitive, but Nix, at least, was sure it would help.
