Ash took great pains to make herself pretty. She groomed fastidiously, stayed out of dirty things if she could possibly help it, and cultivated a manner that showed off how sleek and soft and dainty she was. It was partly vanity, of course, but partly because a pretty cat could get a lot of things a mean, mangy looking cat could not out of the humans that populated Destiny City.
Like bits of warm, gooey, delicious cinnamon rolls.
Food was not a problem for Ash, of course, and she knew she didn't need to beg for it these days with Colin, Quenton and Nadia all more than willing to feed her till she was fat, on top of the various senshi she knew who would have also done so if asked... but the heavenly scent was a wicked temptation.
The warming light of the sun on a Sunday morning had the patio of the Chameleon Café populated by a few early risers, still dressed warm and with cups of steaming coffee in hand. It was the sinful things they had on their plates, though, that had Ash's attention. The people cooed nonsense at her as she wandered from table to table, hands stroking her back when she got right up onto the wire table tops and made herself friendly. It didn't take much to get herself some of their scraps at that point, and Heaven was a real place.

Invidia loathed playing pet for these humans. It was with a look of distaste that she watched the Mauvian on the patio below as she twined in and out of legs and cooed gentle purrs at the customers. then again, Invy was not much for these sugary, disgusting lumps of dough and icing either. She much preferred to steal fish at the market. This one would have to do, though. Jade eyes peeled away from the beggar and she concentrated on her path down to the floor level, confident that she wouldn't lose her before she got there. She leaped from the roof to a light pole, then down to a gutter that groaned a little under the heft of her thick muscle. Slowly, step by step, she made her way to the small half-fence that lined the border of the patio until she could walk along the white washed railing with all the grace and confidence of a cat half her size. True to nature, the humans closest to her let out interested oooos and somewhere she heard a small child chime: "Mommy, look, another one!"It made her want to hiss. She turned her eyes away and concentrated on her path instead, making sure that each and every one of these humans knew she was absolutely and entirely disinterested in these pets they were offering. Then she stopped at the edge of the fence, sitting politely next to the daily specials sign someone had spent a very long time drawing out in immaculately detailed chalk. In a tiny act of rebellion, she began to flick her tail in a motion that would seem entirely idle and pretend to ignore the way her feather-duster of a tail smeared the bold lettering. She only had eyes for this Mauvian and the static air around her said she wasn't leaving until they'd been introduced.

It was the stir that alerted her, happy people noises that were not directed at her, pulling her attention away from the young woman scratching under her chin.
Someone was stealing her spotlight and she turned towards the invader with cool green eyes behind her visor. Everyone had thought the little necklace and head gear cute, like she was a scifi mascot, but the one on the other side of the patio was about as different from the Burmilla as one could be and still be a cat.
Big, was her first thought. Very fluffy. Drably colored, to her own silvery coat. And... a star, to bring to mind the barely-present aura she realized she could feel now. The resentment dissolved to be replaced with interest and curiosity. What was one of her kind doing here? Probably the same thing she was, though the other didn't seem inclined to join in on the easy pickings. Licking her whiskers as she was stared at, Ash very carefully washed her face to make sure she'd removed any lingering traces of frosting before she jumped from the table, sauntering out of the patio area with her tail high and her pace unconcerned.
Around the collection of tables, now ignoring the little calls and offered hands, she brushed herself up against the sign board and cast a glance upwards before she moved away from it. There would be not taking to the stranger here among the humans of course and her trot around the side of the building had a dainty little bounce to it, her necklace bumping her chest.

The Maine Coon waited a breath for the other feline to slip around the corner and saunter off before she turned and dropped onto the other side of the fence gracefully. Pale green eyes caught sight of the other Mauvian's silvery fur just as she rounded the corner of the building with way too much pep in her step. Maybe it wasn't too late to look for a different one? She hesitated over it for just a breath, then decided this might be the only chance she had for a while. Icarus needed more help than she could offer him right now. This had to be done. Invidia sank low into her front legs and curled her back in an arch, then teetered forward to stretch out the hind ones much in the same way. It earned a few happy gasps from people entering and leaving the cafe but she left, deciding it was enough cat-like behavior to make her presence less suspicious here. When she fell back into step, it was pointed but not rushed, and she spared little heed to the humans clamoring over her cute little bracelets. Ugh. Around the corner and into the back alley she went, eyes peeled and looking for the other female - as well as any other lingering people that might make this meeting place less than ideal. This was the first chance she had been given to speak with another of her kind in years apart from that nincompoop that got himself picked up by the humane society and no matter how peppy or bubbly or annoying this feline turned out to be, she promised herself she would give it a chance.

Little paws bounced up a stack of boxes, landing her on top of a dumpster with its closed lid and... unpleasant smell, though most seemed contained by that lid. She didn't like to think about what was on the plastic under her feet, but it felt good to be up off the ground.
Taking a station at the corner, she tucked her back end under her and curled her tail around her feet. It gave her a view of the alley she'd come down and Ash watched with interest as the other stretched before following her, taking a far more deliberate pace than she had. So serious... but not so serious that she rushed either. Ears perked forward neatly, Ash studied her with interest now that she had the opportunity to.
Still a big cat, but it was a lot of fluff too. Annoying stuff, that. She had no idea why so many guardians were long haired types, it seemed inconvenient. She far preferred her own short, soft, sleek self.
"I don't think I've seen you before, Darling." She said, smoothly amused. "I'm Ash, also known as the Silver Lady. Could I ask who I have the pleasure of meeting today? You certainly look like you have something to say and I'm quite curious, I'll admit. I don't tend to meet a lot of our kind outside of Headquarters."
Which could be because she spent most of her time either being lazy at one of her senshi's houses, enjoying pampering, or tinkering away on the lovely things in her hidey hole.

Well, her first impression hadn't been wrong. Hurray for that? Invidia sat down right where she stood, heedless of the grime and grit of the alley way or the way it all stuck to her fur. Pale, green eyes watched the prissy creature with a clear show of annoyance, but she didn't interrupt her no matter how much she really wanted to. "It's Invidia," she said blandly, "and I'm definitely not calling you that." Silver Lady? It made her want to hack up a hair ball. She had never been one for frills or propriety and the mere notion that this Mauvian had some kind of ridiculous, over dramatic title made her want to roll those eyes. It was all she could do to remind herself that she was here for a reason, that there were things she needed to know, and she couldn't just threaten to rub this feline's face in a puddle of mud to get her point across. Icarus had better ******** thank her later. "Your fancy Headquarters is actually the reason I'm here. I've never been, nor do I know how to get there, and I think there are some things you've all been up to that might help me help him. Or, at least, I hope."

The bland return earned a laugh from the silver cat, the tip of her tail curling like a shrug.
"What, Ash or the Silver Lady? Ash is just fine, really, it is my name. Silver Lady is just a fun something for those times when 'Ash' is a bit mundane. Or if I need a pen name."
Its not like a lot of people used the title, but Ash would not be herself if she gave it up. It wasn't even as bad as the name on her 'papers', really. She would avoid divulging that to this stranger.
"You haven't been to Headquarters yet?" She echoed in mild surprise. Maybe not so much that she had never been, but more that she had been forced to operate without that safe haven and information point. Ash remembered a time when she hadn't had senshi homes open to her. Without HQ she'd have had to live on the streets, and the prospect nearly made her shudder.
"Well that's easily fixed, Darling, I can show you where it is. You've come to the right guardian, if its information you want."
Ash bent and dropped smoothly from the dumpster, landing lightly before she turned. Tail up, she cast a look back over a shoulder.
"This way, if you please. Its not far from here. I don't see a communicator on you, so I assume you never got one of those either...? I have a few extra in my pocket, if you'd like one, or you can make one yourself if you're the hands-on type."

Well, at least this Silver Lady could take a snippy punch. It earned her a brownie point, so to speak, even if that didn't put her in the positive side of the spectrum just yet. It was going to take a lot for her to scrub the memory of the well groomed feline begging for sticky sweets from her memory. "Well, at least I haven't wasted my time." It was hard to say how that was meant to be an insult, only that it clearly was with how dry and dismissive she delivered it. Still, regardless of whatever first impression Ash had made on her, Invidia was quick to stand and follow the perky thing once she began to lead the way. It was what she wanted, after all, and she was only thankful that the feline seemed happy to give in without too much fanfare. She did loathe fanfare. It reminded her of Gehenna, wherever that foolish lug had gotten off to. "A... what?" The look her jade eyes leveled on the back of Ash's head was curious and maybe a little bit incredulous. Had she really been so sheltered in all the time she'd spent here? Honestly, Invidia was probably one of the least technologically inclined mauvians that had ever existed - hands on was definitely not her forte. It didn't mean she was technologically inept so to speak, but it was easier for her to leave the experiments and innovations in someone else's paws. "I'm beginning to think that we've accomplished a lot more on this little green planet than I expected."

Something very like smug satisfaction curled on Ash's little face, carefully turned forward and out of view.
This stranger might direct a dismissive tone at her, but who obviously had all the information, and apparently resources, the other lacked? Invidia didn't seem particularly welcoming of any of it, for all that she was asking for things without even offering something in return, but Ash felt secure in her sense of superiority.
"A couple of years ago, Snowball and I built a communication device for Mauvians to use. Since senshi have phones, its highly useful for us to have our own." She said airily. With a light step, she gathered herself and jumped, turning over in the air to a small pop of what might have been sparkles. Something dropped out of the empty space to clatter onto the ground.
Small, round, and electronic, it seemed vaguely like a bluetooth ear clip. It was blue, to match the accessories Invidia wore, but otherwise plain.
"There you are!" Ash said as she left it for the other cat to pick up, taking up the lead again. "It has the same functions as a senshi phone, but its voice activated, and has a holographic projector. If you want to add any of the apps the other cats have made, or the emergency beacon I made myself, you can load those onto it from the HQ computers, or I can show you how."
She angled a look over her shoulder, side-stepping daintily to keep on track.
"How much do you know about the abilities of Guardian cats? Have you been able to take another form yet?"
She highly doubted the dour cat had managed that yet, but she had been surprised before. Snowball had managed it, and Faust. There were likely others she hadn't seen yet.

Snowball. Invidia wanted to roll her eyes at that name but refrained for the sake of getting what she wanted. In a too-extravagant bit of flare, a small round thing clattered to the ground and she stepped forward to stare at it. It looked simple enough to use and though she had never played around with them much, it seemed a lot like the blue tooth devices humans wore in their ears. She was less inclined to the technology aspect of her race but at the end of the day she was still Mauvian. She gathered it up and stepped back into pace next to the silvery feline. Maybe she respected her a little more now that she had acquired something she found useful. Maybe. "I could a very long time ago," she answered honestly, even if it brought on that familiar ache in the back of her mind of time before, of Poseidon and Nemesis, of all the things that slipped through her grasp like water when she tried to cling too tightly to them, "but not now, no. The ability has eluded me for some time." The dismissive shrug of her shoulders was at odds with the strange tone of her voice but she didn't elaborate on what she meant. She wasn't here to discuss herself, after all. She was here to learn what she could do to help Icarus and the damned girl he had been so inclined to protect for whatever bullheaded reason his selfishness had stepped aside for. "I can manage the laser still and I have no problem finding and awakening Senshi." Even if she didn't very often. Almost ever. "But that's the limit for me."

"Oh, dear, that's unfortunate..." Ash said with genuine feeling. She had an attachment to her bipedal form, almost more so than her feline. The thought of being stuck as just one thing made her ache inside. She wasn't a cat, truly, any more than a simple house cat was a Mauvian, and to be trapped that way... she may have started out in one form, but there was no going back for her now, save dragged bodily to it, claws dug in.
"Well, I hope you find yourself able to again. A few years ago a meteor fell in the park where a bunch of Mauvians had gathered. It had a terrible effect on a human man who found part of it, and we had to subdue the cat-monster he became... but if you can find one of the pieces that have become scattered about the city, it can be used to transform the way senshi do." Pausing at the corner, she glanced up and down the street before she broke into a fast trot to cross the pavement before any cars came rushing down it, oblivious to small feline forms.
"We've been calling it Mauvian Senshi form, actually, and its quite useful. Our power signature feels more like a super senshi and I've been able to use attacks that work much like senshi's do. Not many other cats have gotten that far yet, but even if you aren't inclined to it, it would be good to keep an eye out for those meteor pieces. They are a hazard to normal humans."
The alley across the street was fairly narrow and not every long, letting out into a very small sort of park. Ash set their route around the edge of it, circling clockwise, before she took them down another street. Destiny Tower loomed over them and it was towards that she took them, keeping to the base of buildings and out of the way of people.
