Your run-of-the-mill bar and diner fashioned after a medieval inny. The prices are fairly cheap, though the bartender may slip you a free drink if you're funny enough. By the bar counter, there are three seats, with one of the seats being an elevated chair with the back of the chair being fashioned after two demon horns.

✠ The motorcycle headed down the street quickly approaching the bar down the way. Aurioulus leaned back in her seat, arms above her head as the wind gently blew in her face. Like her mom, she also liked the feeling of wind in your face, though she still had to wear a helmet. Safety first for the little one and it was non-negotiable. Nebula, on the other hand, didn't have to follow that rule and was allowed to remove her helmet without a word said from the driver. Although she was shocked; the gunner usually being a stickler about wearing a helmet and constantly trying to get her to wear one. She felt her head lay on her back, a familiar and comforting warmth coming from the woman as she rested against her. Circe's grin softened into a smile as she eased on the throttle and let the bike cruise along. It had been some time since they had a peaceful moment like this, just the three of them. If only they could have more moments like this... Alas, Neb was usually busy with work and she often busy with her search for other witches. But for now, in this moment, she would take the time to appreciate it. Approaching the bar, Circe would pull her bike up a little ways from the entrance. "Well, well. Here we are, ladies."
Helping Neb off and Lulu out of her compartment, Circe would lead the way into the bar. They were regular customers of the establishment, so much that Lulu had her own customized booster seat. Truth be told, the barkeep had a soft spot for the kid and fancied them as well. "WE'RE BAAAAAACK!" the mother and daughter announced aloud in unison, Lulu running in ahead. The little girl would climb up into her chair without assistance, eager to get a bagel or two or three. Aunty Neb said she could have as many as she wanted after all! Circe would take her seat beside the girl and wait for Nebula to sit down as well. "Barkeep! Bagels and booze, please! Extra bagels for Lulu." The man would laugh heartily, getting to gathering their order. Auriolus swung her legs, humming to herself as she waited, drumming her fingers on the counter. Circe would pat the girl on the head before turning to her dear friend with a smile. "Soooo... How ya been, Nebbies? You've been gone longer than usual. Work been keepin ya?" she asked still very curious as to what kept her away. Without her bestie around, she was starting to feel a little lonely; like a piece of her life had vanished. Hopefully it wasn't anything serious...

xxxxxxNebula flashed her signature peace signs to the on-lookers as she strolled to her seat. She grinned at Lulu's eagerness, though her expression appeared lost at Circe's question. "Oh, work... Yeah, it's been pretty busy." She gently scraped her nail on the counter, looking off to the corner of the room. It was as if she was staring at someone despite no one being there. "Big things are happening, have to keep the boss-lady happy and healthy." Upon realizing that she had forgotten to answer Circe's first question, Nebula mentally retraced her steps. "I'm fine. I'm better that I'm with you guys, though!" Her grin softened, but quickly faded. "Hey, can I stay over for the night? I have to leave some time at midnight, but I kind of would like to crash at a place that's more... Cozy, you know?" She whispered to Circe, looking back at the corner of the room every few seconds.
✠ While Nebula spoke, Circe simply listened, resting her arms on the counter as she looked at her. She had to admit though, something about her dear friend seemed...off. Ever since they met up, there was something about Nebula, even now with the way she kept looking off into the corner of the bar. Circe made no mention of it yet, but she wanted to know what was on her mind. At her question, the blonde-redhead could help but laugh. "Pffft! C'mon, Nebs. Like you have to ask? You know you're always welcome to stay with me an Lulu. I gave you a key, didn't I? That means you're welcome anytime!" Before she went on, the barkeep would bring out their bagels and booze; cider for the kid. Her tiny hands took hold of two bagels at once, taking a bite of each one as she happily chewed and gulped it down. Circe picked up her bagel and took a bite, the soft and warm bread melting in her mouth. "Oh man! Still so good! The best!" she squealed in delight. "But anyway, I'm glad to see you again. Seriously. Things have been crazier than a mole in heat! And getting worse by the second it seems..." she paused, looking down at her drink on the counter. For a moment, she would contemplate the thoughts swirling in her mind before looking back at Nebula. The look in her eyes showed concern and a hint of sorrow from the things she'd seen and learned. "Have you heard? Fairy Tail, Blue Pegasus, and Sabertooth got attacked. I was actually here with a Sabertooth wizard, trying to get to the bottom of this mess. I dunno... Things are really dangerous right now. That's why I told Lulu to stay indoors..." she sighed, taking a sip of her drink. And when she did, she would make a twisted face in surprise as she swallowed the beverage. "Oh shoot! I meant to get cider! Hahahahaha!" How quickly her mood would change at her careless mistake. "Youf cann haff sum ovff moine maaa!" Lulu offered, speaking with a mouthful. "I keep telling you to swallow your food before you speak, kiddo!" Circe grinned with a furrowed brow, pinching her daughter's stuffed cheek. She grumbled in response, trying to keep the food in her mouth. "Thanks, but I'll just order my own. Barkeep!"

xxxxxxNebula blushed. In her drunken stupor, she had forgotten about the house key. Maybe it was for the best. The last thing Nebula wanted to do was to piss on the floor and fall in a pool of tears and urine in front of Lulu. She's already a half-assed role model, she didn't want to be a total wreck in front of the kid.
Nebula's expression softened as Circe's concern, which showed. When Circe explained why she was so worried, Nebula froze up. "Oh, that's terrible." Nebula attempted to pick up her mug, her ability to hold it becoming difficult by the tremors of her hand. Everything drowned out after Circe spoke, and those unfamiliar voices, those condescending and cruel voices, began to overwhelm her senses.
VOICES:
"You hurt those people?" "Of course she did, shot an old man too." "Didn't she try to kill an unborn child?" "Probably because she couldn't save her own." "One died. Then two. Then the twins..." "Doesn't help when you used to drink all the time." "No no no! I know why." "All for what, getting a wife who doesn't want her?" "Of course." "Who'd want her?" "Certainly not Evelyn." "How could you do that?" "Ahaha." "You're so naughty." "Naughty naughty naughty Nebbies." "What if Circe knew?" "Oh, she'd hate her." "Mhmm." "She'd be so disappointed." "Typical." "She would want to kill her." "Turn her into a toad." "But she's already one!" "Ahaha!" "Just kill yourself." "Like all those people you probably..." "JUST KILL YOURSELF."
Nebula looked at the corner of the room once more, searching for the cause of these noises. Yet, no one was there despite the source of the voices clearly coming from that location. Maybe it was an invisible entity? Just how bad did Chioma curse her?!
The woman began to bounce her leg up and down as she clasped her hands over her ears, shutting her eyes. She could still hear them, and they were still so mean towards her. She didn't mean to... But she did. Now Circe was sad, and it was all her fault. She was the one who rebuilt the guild, and now it was being used for... "I need to go to the bathroom!" She blurted out as she accidentally knocked her glass on the way out. She was practically tripping with each step, nearly falling a few times as she ran to the back. She ran to one of the stalls, locking it behind her. Luckily no one else was in the bathroom. Nebula had been stricken with such great anxiety, that she could vomit. She slid down the door as she broke down into tears, hyperventilating as if she were unable to breathe. "J-just... Stop..."

✠ As Circe received her drink, she took a large chug of the now non-alcoholic beverage and let out a complimentary “ahhh” of approval. As she set the glass down, she would look over to her best friend only to see her still spacing out. And then, quite suddenly, the woman violently leaped from her seat, knocking over her glass which Circe would save from shattering on the floor. The liquid spread over the counter and the barkeeper would race to wipe it up with a towel at the ready. Bright red eyes followed the tipsy woman as she stumbled her way to the bathroom. Aurioulus chewed her food and swallowed before saying “Aunty Neb is zooted!”“Lulu! Where did you even learn that? And I'm sure she's not, she barely had anything to drink. Buuuuuut…maybe I should check on her. Stay here and be a good girl!, kay?” the mother pat her daughter on the head before following her friend. Circe’s smile would fade as she entered the bathroom, hearing the faint sniffles as opposed to the sounds of retching. The woman came to stand in front of the stall where the sound of crying was coming from, tenderly placing her hand on the door. “Nebula? What’s wrong? You can talk to me, y’know? I know something’s been bothering you since we met up” she frowned. Circe would crouch down and then take a seat on the floor, her back to the door. The witch remained quiet for a moment, trying to find the right words to say. And then she would smile a little, pressing her head against the door. “We’ve been friends for years now. This shoulder ain’t going anywhere any time soon. So...when you wanna talk about what happened...”
Auriolus just kept eating her bagels of which she had already scarfed down quite a few. Even though she ate all those cookies before hand, the girl’s stomach was akin to a bottomless pit that never quite filled. Her tail flicked back and forth as she bit into the soft and chewy baked good, grinning with a closed eyes smile. At that moment, a group of men can marching in with thunderous laughter. They were all dressed alike in spiked and tattered grab; reminiscent of some sort of biker gang. Talking amongst themselves rather loudly, the apparent ringleader with a mohawk would abruptly bring them all to a hush. He would then point to Aurioulus and snicker; Lulu of course noticing and pouting in response. When the group approached the child, the barkeeper became aware of what was happening and started to interject. “Fellas, what can I get y-”“Hey, in a minute pops! I wanna know what a little girl is doing in a place like this!” Never one to miss a beat, the little girl would respond in kind...after swallowing her food. “Maybe I'm here to eat bagels. No wait… Yeah! I'm eating bagels!” A few of the men in the group chuckled but were quickly silenced by a glance from their boss. Again, the barkeeper would try to intervene before things got messy… “Listen guys, how about I get you a free round to get sta-”“Hey shut it, pops! This cheeky brat don’t belong here at the bar. Why don’t you skedaddle kid?”“Hey look! Look at her chair! It’s got wittle horns just like her! Hahahahah!” The guys would laugh, one of them poking at her chair in fun. “What? You some little mascot? Heh. Cute” the mohawk chuckled, trying to flick Lulu’s horn. But when he tried, he would receive a slap on the hand by the girl’s tail. He let out a yelp, holding his hand where a bright red welt would adorn the back of his hand. There was silence at first until the men broke out into “oooo”s and “oooohhh”s. It was now that they understood her “accessories” were very real. The barkeeper was going to speak up again, but decided to let it go and let it work itself out. “You little freak! Stay still and I’ll cut that thing off for you!” mohawk growled, pulling out a knife. “Mommy told me to be a good girl... Mr. Barkeeper? These guys are disturbing your business, right? So I’m helping you push them out, okay?” Mr. Barkeeper just shrugged, knowing it would turn out like this in the end. Lulu only grinned as she stood up in her chair and glared at the bikers.

xxxxxxNebula tried to stop crying when someone walked in, but she was so far in, she couldn't get out of her despair. When she heard Circe's voice, the crying had only grown more severe, she was practically groaning in pain. Circe's reassurance was unwarranted, it's not like Nebula deserved it. She was so good to her, despite not being around as often. If only things were like when they were first hanging out, it felt like Nebula had all the time in the world to goof around. She was such a different person then. She wasn't perfect, but she wasn't completely unsalvageable either. "Do you ever feel like... You have no purpose on this planet but to hurt people? That, no matter what you do... You will just make everyone worse by just living? Like a tumor... I feel like that... I feel like a tumor." She sniffled, covering her face with her hands, "I've hurt so many people... And I'm worried that I will only hurt you... You are one of the last people I want to hurt, but..." She sobbed once more, "Oh, Circe! I'm no good for you! You... You should find someone else, someone... Someone who won't cause you pain... I... I don't want to hurt you... You mean to much to me..."

✠ Circe sat and listened, but it was a hard listen honestly. She'd known Nebula for years and to now hear her talk this way and about herself... It was disheartening. The gunslinger was the most strongest and most confident person she knew. What could have happened to make her this way? Her friend sounded like she was in pain and suffering from something she did. Nebula hurt someone? Surely not intentionally. Was there anything she could do to quell her aching? "...If you're a tumor, I'd rather keep you. Nebula, you only make my life better by living. Whenever I'm down, you pick me up just by being there. I..." she paused, feeling herself choke up on words. Her hands were balled tightly into fist, taking a moment to gather her thoughts. "Geez, Neb... I...I don't know what happened...and I don't really need to know. Nothing you do would ever make me stop loving you. Sorry...but you can't get rid of me that easily" she nervously chuckled. It wasn't like Neb was trying though...was she? That was a crazy thought...but the way her friend was acting was so bizarre and out of character. Or maybe...this was her talking. There was a lot she didn't know about Nebula; she often avoided talking about her past, so she never pried too much. The woman was mysterious, from her profession to her unique magic. But now she wishes she did pry a little more. Circe just hoped Neb wasn't trying to push her away...

xxxxxxNebula was surprised that Circe didn't ask for an explanation. Was she really that determined in maintaining their friendship? The fact that Circe was willing to be her friend despite whatever cruel thing Nebula may have done... It was... Relieving. Nebula sighed, having been reduced to sniffles and hiccups. She began to sloppily fiddle around with the lock before slowly opening the door. She saw Circe's back, and immediately pounced. She wrapped her around around her friend's neck, resting her head on Circe's shoulder. "...Olivia... It's... Olivia..." She hugged a little tighter, closing her eyes. "Nebula... Was a nickname my late-fiancee gave me, but... My name is actually Olivia..."

✠ Then it was quiet... There was a long pause of silence, save for the sniffles from Nebula. Circe wondered if she should say something else; if Neb was waiting to hear something else. And then, the sound of the lock being played with caused her to look back and up. The door opened and there she was with puffy eyes and tears running down her face. Circe's fists unfurled as she relaxed some after seeing her friend. She remained sitting which allowed the pinkette to lunge onto her back and tightly hug her from behind. As she found her shoulder, she uttered a name and then explained herself. Nebula wasn't her real name? She was engaged?! The blonde didn't know what to respond with to that, but quietly smiled hearing something about her best friend she didn't know. Maybe...they were getting closer after all. Except...something bugged her in the back of her mind. The name Olivia...she heard that name before when she was with Sabertooth. 'Olivia...Pink hair...Nebula feels guilty about... something........' Was...was it just a coincidence? There was no way it was related! She couldn't believe that. This was Nebula, not some dark guild terrorist. Circe continued to say nothing as she pressed her head against Nebula's, holding onto her arm.

xxxxxxNebula, or rather Olivia, nuzzled her cheek against Circe's, comforted by her friend's warmth. "I wanted to tell you for so long, but... I'm not very proud of who I am." She sighed, "I didn't want to burden you with all my issues, I thought I could handle all of this... But I really can't." Nebula would crawl in front of Circe, sitting in front of her. Slowly, she would take the woman's hands, clasping them into hers. "I never told anyone this, you're the first person... I... My life wasn't perfect." She began, appearing somewhat humiliated. "I wasn't born into a rich family like I always mentioned, I was born and abandoned by my... Egg donor... To live with my father in destitution. We were hobos, Circe. Hobos." Tears freely rolled down her cheeks. "My dad and I, we lived from shack to shack, but most of the time I wasn't even with my dad because he'd get arrested... He was sick, his mind was so ******** up, Circe." She shook her head, "The last time I saw him, he was getting me a birthday cake for me... He stole it, and he was locked away for life... I guess the big, fancy, rich guys just wanted him gone for good. They put me in the orphanage system and I became a number to the nuns who took care of me... I... That's all I have the heart of saying... I just, I just feel like you should know that much... I'm sorry for lying... I..." She looked away, placing the woman's hands above her heart. "I just didn't want to bother you, but you don't deserve all the lying, Circe... Please forgive me... I'm so so sorry..."

✠ At long last, Nebula would come clean about her past and what she'd been through. Well, it was more than she knew before anyway. Circe would watch her painfully recall troubling memories; memories she was somehow ashamed to speak of. She would hold her hands as she spoke, not tightly but firm enough that they wouldn't slip away. And when she finished speaking of her father and the life they lived, she would take her hands back. She did so so she could wipe the tears from her friend's face and smile sweetly at her. "Nebula... Olivia... You have nothing to be ashamed of. Your life may not have been perfect, but it's yours. And it's made you the person you are today. And that person...I could not ask to be any different than she is. I'm just glad you finally felt comfortable enough to tell me. And all it took was for us to talk on the bathroom floor of Birdie's!" she grinned widely as she caressed Nebula's cheek. It took some time to finally part that veil of hers, but it seemed she was finally learning about the real Neb...the real Olivia.

xxxxxxNebula's cheeks flushed as Circe wiped her tears away. "Circe, I told you because you mean so much to me." Nebula attempted at a smile, but struggled. "I put you on such a high pedestal because of how much you mean to me, I was afraid you'd see me differently." She sighed, "I should have known better." Her blush grew brighter, "I've always felt that way towards you, you... You are perfect, you could do no wrong even if you tried." Nebula's heart was racing as she struggled to find the right words to say. "You are one of the most kind-hearted people I know, it's just so easy to talk to you... I feel truly happy when I'm around you, Circe." Nebula would place her hand on Circe's as her friend caressed her cheek. "Being away from you for so long was... Heartbreaking... I missed your kindness, your wit, your talent as a truly brilliant witch, your fun-loving nature, your beauty..." Nebula inched a bit closed to Circe. "I've been a notorious flirt towards other women, but never dared to do the same to you because... You are different... So beautifully, wonderfully, different..." Nebula looked at Circe, her brows furrowing and expression softening. "For twelve years into our twenty two years of being friends, I've struggled to say these things to you, because I had no idea how you would take it... But Circe Krauss..." Nebula would inch closer and closer, slowly moving her face closer to Circe's. "... I love you... More than a friend..."

✠ Funny how they both held each other in high regard; however, Circe still found herself surprised. Nebula had her on such a high pedestal... She was by no means perfect and there were quite a few things she did wrong. But she was, in a way, just as guilty as her. They both wore rose tinted glasses when looking at each other. Nebula felt the same way she did about her, voicing all of the things she never said before. What was this feeling? Circe felt her heart beat a little faster as her hand came to rest on hers. Her face was flushed pink as Nebula approached her, closer and closer. And then...she said it. Words that when Circe heard them was brought so much unexpected joy. Nebula was in love with her? She...somehow she always felt it might be true, but never acted upon it. And now that she said it and was mere inches away from her... The woman acted on impulse and pushed forward, closing her eyes and locking her lips with Nebula. Her hand still caressing her tear stained face, the blonde brought her other hand to rest on her other cheek. For all but a few seconds, Circe would share what she would call a passionate kiss before quickly pulling herself away and releasing Neb. She touched her own lips before shaking her head solemnly. "I...I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that, Nebula. I'm so sorry... I know...you love someone else, I just..." she apologized, ashamed of herself. Given her friend's emotional state, she felt as if she took advantage of her in the heat of the moment. She honestly surprised herself, not for a second thinking she would go so far...

xxxxxxNebula didn't expect Circe to reciprocate her feelings. Like a gambler, she was used to taking chances with great confidence. She purposely approached Circe slowly, knowing that Circe would reject her advances. However, this was not the case. This was not the case at all. Nebula froze as Circe kissed her first, much to her dismay. Tears had once again slid down Nebula's cheeks as Circe pulled away, leaving the woman stunned. Nebula slowly brought her fingers to her lips, looking away from Circe in disbelief. She sat in silence for a little bit, her face still flushed, even more-so. Nebula had kissed many women in her lifetime, but this was... Nebula would face Circe again, still silently weeping. However, she was grinning. "You... You taste like apples and cinnamon." She grew quiet again before slowly crawling back to Circe. As their faces were once again close enough, Nebula would gently move Circe's hand from her mouth. She intertwined her fingers with her friend's, and looked her in the eye. "This does not change how I feel about you..." Nebula placed a gentle kiss on Circe's lips before pulling away. "Whatever happens in this bathroom, stays in this bathroom... Come on, Lulu's probably wondering where we are..." She would get up, taking Circe by the hand and helping her up. She was surprisingly calm, despite how much she had been crying. She couldn't quite explain it, she hadn't felt this way in so long...
