Nix was a busy boy. Much to do. Lots of running, jumping, training...
...Occasionally, he thought maybe he should think about school more than Senshidom, but then would always decide he’d be fine. 10th grade wasn’t that bad.
Besides! There were monsters to beat! And lots of people who needed help getting better at said monster beating.
Thus, here he was, one fine Saturday, in a fairly abandoned stretch of woods on the edge of Destiny City. A good place for daytime training, he thought. Not many chances of interruptions, or accidentally licking somebody who shouldn’t be licked...
All that remained now was for the knight he’d come out here to train with to turn up. Until then, he sat himself up in a tree, on a nice, big branch. The ease with which he could get up here was always refreshing.

The last thing Ogygia had really wanted to to was be put in a situation where she had to fight. She wasn't sure why she had the aversion, but she had a creeping feeling in her gut that it was due to things she couldn't remember, except for within nightmares. Frankly, if she could have done nothing more than simply be an average college student, she would have been happy for life.
Instead, she'd allowed her cousin to talk her into sparring practice and actually using the power she had to do more than sit around. So here she was tromping through the woods edge and wondering what exactly she'd let herself in for. Thankfully, the only aura she could feel was clean and bright and non-threatening. Otherwise, she would have made her excuses and bolted.
She caught a glimpse of color and movement up in one of the trees and paused to wave. "Helloooo!"

Nix, of course, could tell someone was coming...in a way, the aura sense was nice, but it could also take the fun out of things sometimes. Hard to be surprised by a powered person.
Probably for the best.
When she called up, he grinned and waved down. “Heyy! Good to see ya!” He called out cheerily. She seemed a bit nervous, so he wanted to be nice and positive. “Why don’t ya hop up here? It’s a nice view to see before we get started!”
Truthfully, there wasn’t really a lot to see up in the tree. Mostly leaves and other trees, but it was still an unusual vantage point for a person to look at, and that in itself was nice, he figured.

Hop up there? Ogygia by no means considered herself a pris, but even so, her expression was doubtful as she gazed up into the tree and then back down at her shoes. Even enhanced by whatever magic had made her what she was, there was no way climbing a tree was going to end up going well for her.
"I'll take your word for it on the view," she said. "I'm kiiiiinda prone to clumsiness, y'see."
At least the senshi was cheerful. And it seemed sincere. Ogygia was a firm believer in cheerful people making better teachers. And since she wasn't a complete novice (though she couldn't for the life of her recall where she'd ever learned to throw a punch), there was every reason to hope that he would remain cheerful throughout.

“Well, if you’re sure,” Nix replied, nodding some. While his smile was still there, a brief flash of disappointment crossed his face—of course, he was up in the air a bit, so easily missed. Still. The rejection was informative, at least. Gave him a bit of an idea of the sort of mentality he was dealing with. (It was interesting, he reflected briefly, how much one learns by teaching. Both about what you teach, and the act of teaching itself...Though most of the time he wasn’t totally sure if he’d be doing the teaching or the learning in a given training session. Or just working together.)
After a brief pause, Nix pushed himself off his purch and simply dropped. He landed with a dull thump, and then offered a green gloved hand to shake. “Anyway, I’m Nix, though I guess you knew that. Nice to meet ya! Wanna get started?”

"Not entirely," she answered cheerfully. "But I'm gonna err on the side of caution since I don't wanna explain potential broken bones to my cousin."
The idea of how Nimah might react to a serious injury was more than enough to keep Ogygia's feet on solid ground. Bumps and bruises from legit training wouldn't raise her ire, but anything beyond a sprain wasn't worth the hassle.
Jumping slightly as the senshi jumped down and landed right in front of her, Ogygia took the offered hand and gave it a friendly squeeze. Now that she could get a good look at him, she couldn't help gushing a little.
"Ohmigod, you're adorable. Well, Nix I'm Ogygia and it's great meeting you too. I would love to get started. What's first?"

Nix blushed a little at being called adorable, but his smile did get bigger—he clearly took it as a compliment. “Thanks,” he replied. “It’s, uh, a good motivator to stay fit, heh.”
With the shake out of the way, he tapped his chin thoughtfully before saying, “Well, I guess I should ask: What exactly were you hoping to do? Get better at fighting? Just using your powered abilities better, or...uh...” He paused, looked off to the side, then back to her. “Well, I guess just those two.”
“If you wanna fight, we should look at if you’ve got any magic, what it does, and what your weapon-thing is,” He tilted his head to the side, eyes drifting down a bit before coming back up. “It’s, uh, not very obvious to me what it is, honestly...Which might be useful!” He gave a quick thumbs up at that.
“If you just wanna practice being more familiar with powers, we should work on simple stuff, like running and jumping: It’s not quite like doing it as a normal person, you know, since we’re faster and jumpier.” He looked upward and added, “I wouldn’t have dropped down like that if I was just plain ol’ Me.”

Mouth quirking in a half smile, Ogygia considered her options. She considered herself just decent enough at simply fighting. What she needed was to figure out fighting with her magic. Nodding to herself, she turned her attention back to Nix.
"Fighting, please. And as far as my weapon goes..." Ogygia grinned a little and then focused. Her bootheels seemed to shimmer and turn crystalline.
"Haven't quite figured out how useful having magic shoes is," she admitted candidly. "But it's better than absolutely nothing, right?"
Which thought led to her first concern of the day. She wasn't sure how sharp those crystals were and if she did any kicking, she really didn't want to end up making Nix bleed. The last thing she wanted was to hurt anyone.

"Okay!" He replied with a cheerful nod, and shifted into a movie fighting stance. "Let's do it, then! Just, uh..." his eyes flicked downward a brief moment. "don't kick me in the face, alright?" There was only so much hurts he could hide, after all.
"Show me what you got!" he declared, and thumped his chest, still grinning confidently. "I can take it!"
He was, perhaps, a bit more confident in these things than he really should have been, but...it mostly worked. He just always had to remember to not give instructions about things he didn't understand. That could be tough.

"Not to worry," the tall squire said, hastening to reassure. "This is just practice and I don't want to hurt you at all."
She found his confidence charming, if mildly worrisome. She knew how easy it was to slip into over-confidence. And just how dangerous that could be. Even so, as soon as she was asked to show what she had, Ogygia found her body slipping into a sort of muscle memory state. Without really thinking about it, she found herself analyzing even as she moved forward. Fascinating that she couldn't really anything beyond a year, yet she knew how to do this.
Fists rapidly moving for Nix's face and gut, she wanted to distract him from her feet. If she could get a good leg sweep in, she could knock the frog senshi off his feet.

The skill with which Ogygia suddenly came at him surprised Nix. She didn't seem like she had it in her--but here he was having to work to deflect and dodge her strikes.
And then, much to his chagrin, he realized that she was distracting him. A successful sweep would mean--ideas.
As she swept his feet out, he let himself topple some, and faced himself toward her only to stick his tongue out like he was going to lick her.
Since that was exactly what he intended on doing. A nice big, sticky lick would certainly mess with clean maneuvering...so he made his big ethereal tongue appear and lick her to either keep himself up or pull her right over.
Big Tongue, Sticky Lick
Nix mimes the action of using his tongue, creating a large ethereal frog tongue. This tongue can either shoot a straight line 15 feet away striking with the force of a hard punch which can leave a bruise if the target player desires, or take the form of a large licking tongue which can make contact with something not more than 2 feet away. In both cases, Nix may choose to have the tongue be either sticky or poisonous. If it is sticky, the strength of his tongue is such that whatever he grabs, the smaller of the two objects (Nix and his target) will get pulled as his tongue retracts. If it is poisonous and hits an organic target they will suffer the effects of rapid poisoning (which can include dizziness, fatigue, nausea and vomiting) for thirty seconds.
As soon as the tongue is retracted, it disappears. The tongue may be used three more times.

For a brief, shining moment, Ogygia felt a bit of pride. She had no idea what she was doing, precisely, but she was doing it well. Maybe she wouldn't have to worry about her nebulous magic that she still had no idea how to work.
And then a giant tongue appeared and she couldn't even. Screaming and scrambling backwards as it touched her, she was far too freaked out to realize that Nix had used his magic on her to keep himself from falling.
Sneaky little frog.
Purely reacting, Ogygia felt herself falling and made a loud whoof noise as she stumbled and fell on her own a**.

Nix wasn't exactly well balanced from that little "maneuver," but it ended up working out alright. He staggered his way back to balance, and looked down at her. "You're better at this than you give yourself credit for," he said with a smile, and offered a gloved hand to help her up. "I'll bet that clumsiness you mentioned will go away pretty quick with just a little practice!"
Practice for the purpose of believing in herself, he figured, but he left that unsaid. He also had a burning desire to ask her where she learned to do that, but decided to wait on that one.

Reflexively rubbing one hand over where the 'tongue' had been, Ogygia accepted Nix's hand up and got to her feet. Looking chagrined, she dusted herself off and met the senshi's smile reluctantly.
"My being good at it would be a lot more impressive if I could remember where or even how I learned it," she answered wearily. "I mean, it'd be nice if it turned out I'm some sort of prodigy or something, but I really doubt that'll be the case."
Standing and twisting a little to force her back to relax, the tall squire sighed and turned to fully face the frog senshi.
"No more tongue tricks."

"Oh, not remembering stuff like that must be rough," Nix replied, nodding in a hopefully understanding sort of way. He rubbed his cheek as she stretched. "Well, how ever you got there, you still have the ability...so it's kinda like your a prodigy!"
He resumed a loose sort of fighting stance and asked with a coy smile, "Not even a little tongue?" His tongue peeked out between his teeth for a brief moment. "I guess I can agree to that..."
