 Liloa was going to the river today, as per request of her mother. She had been there before on several trips with her mom, but today she was going alone since her mom had buisness to do in their town. She had quite a swim, so she was stocked up with food for a couple of days and a knife in case she had to go get some more, but hopefully not. Their village was quite close to the river, so Liloa did not have to swim far to get to the river.
When she reached the town today, she wasn't as confused or lost as the was the first time. But, this time she was also alone without her mom, and she was a little bit scared that she might get lost. Luckily she found which route she was supposed to take, so she decided to take a break there, and have some lunch. She sure was famished!

Miliani knew she needed to gather some things for her next invention, so she decided to head to the shore, to look for the ingredients. She had her trusty instrument with her, which she played as soon as she was out of the water. As she got lost in her music, she didn't pay much attention to her surroundings, until she almost tripped over someone. "Oh I am terribly sorry,"she apologized, slipping her instrument back into her pocket. She inclined her head gently to the other, to add to it, before noticing that the other appeared to be eating. She was half tempted to just excuse herself, so she wasn't disturbing her, when her stomach reminded her she was hungry too.

Woah! Someone just swam out of no where into her. It seemed like they were a young river dweller. "Ah, hello," Liloa stammered. She was shocked and surprised. This doesn't happen to her everyday. Maybe they were hungry? Yea, so hungry they just swam into her without looking. Liloa was sure that was the reason.
She continued to study them. They were pretty, well Liloa had always thought of the blue scaled people as pretty and more vibrant than others like herself. Liloa did like the clothes they wore too, they really suited them. "Hey! Those clothes look really good on you!" Liloa commented.

Miliani looked at the girl, giving a small smile as she greeted her. At the mention of her clothes, her eyes seemed to light up, that was kind of the other to say. Then she reminded herself that she needed her manners, she hadn't even introduced herself. You couldn't just swim into someone and not be proper after, right? "Thank you, I am glad that you like them. And I must seem terribly rude, swimming into you like I did. Not to mention, I didn't even introduce myself, my name is Miliani. And might I say, you have pretty green eyes,"she added, finding herself babbling a little.

"Ah, thank you!" Liloa said, "I'm Liloa by the way. Nice to meet you!" It sure was nice to meet new people all the time. Liloa always loved making new friends. They were always fun to meet and hang out with. Liloa wondered what Miliani was doing around the area. She never really saw others around the area, unless they were like her and doing errands for the jobs they had. Maybe Miliani was like her and also looking for materials around the area. Well, if so, they certainly could help each other.
After Liloa gulped down her lunch she said, "Hey so, what are you doing around here? I'm gathering materials for my mom's clothing job. We can totally help each other, if you are looking for materials too. I'm pretty used to the area since I've been here with my mom before."

Miliani smiled softly, then listened as the other introduced herself too. Liloa, that was a pretty name and she committed it to memory. She was kind of curious herself what the other might be doing here. It seemed she would soon have the answer to her question, along with the question being asked of her too. "It is nice to meet you, Liloa. As to your question, I am out here looking for materials too. See, I like to make things, ones that can help make things easier for people. Glad to know that we both are here for similar reasons,"she added in reply.

Wow! Miliani makes things that makes life easier for people? That seems pretty cool. Liloa was curious as to how she comes up with things though. As Liloa lived her life, she never really thought of how her life could be easier. She just did what she did like her mother taught her, and it became a lifestyle. "So, what things do you make?" Liloa asked, "What do you need?"
Liloa thought hard about what she would need. Looks like today her mother needed some more reeds for skirts. Well, there were plenty in the area luckily it wasn't going to be a hard day of work for her!

"Well, I suppose it depends on the kind of things people need. Like sometimes I try to figure out ways to tame some of the animals we use. Or bags to carry things in, so we don't have to hurt our hands. So I am just looking around for things that might come in handy, like reeds and leaves. What kind of things are you looking for?"Miliani asked.

Oh! Bags are useful! Liloa was using one now, and it really did help her carry her materials. Miliani's talent is so cool. She is able to come up with more things like bags and make Liloa's life easier. Liloa definitely wanted to help her find some reeds and leaves, plus she was already going to gather those anyway.
"Oh! You are so cool. I'm looking for reeds today, wanna come with me?" Liloa asked. This certainly would be fun. Liloa wanted to ask Miliani more about how she came up with such amazing ideas.

"Aww, thank you, though I don't know if I would call myself cool. I just like helping in whatever way I can. And sure, I would not mind going with you to find some reeds. Maybe I can find something over there that will inspire me as well,"Miliani beamed. She wondered what Liloa did herself, she hadn't even thought to ask. "If you do not mind my asking, what kind of things do you enjoy doing?"she questioned.

"Well, what I'm doing is helping my mother find materials for the clothes she makes!" Liloa said proudly. While it didn't sound as cool as what Miliani was doing, she was still sure making clothes for others was a necessity and that her mother was doing a great job designing clothes. Speaking of which, there were some merfolk at her village that were awaiting their new clothes, which Liloa is currently gathering materials for.
"Look!" Liloa beamed, "I made the clothes I wear with my mother. We made it together." Liloa then started scanning the area for anything useable. She didn't have all day to dilly dally around. These materials were important so people could get their clothes.

"That is very sweet of you to do, helping your mom with making clothing. Do you plan on following in her footsteps and making clothing yourself someday? And aww, it must have been wonderful getting to make something with your mom like that. I know the feeling,"Miliani spoke. Her fingers gingerly wrapped around her beloved instrument she had stowed away in its little bag. "So anything specific you are looking for?"she asked.

"Yea! I do hope I can be like my mom one day," Liloa replies. She really did look up to all her mom had accomplished and respected her mom for her work. The clothes she makes is amazing and beautiful. Her mom is also able to help so many people look beautiful as well.
"Well I'm just looking for reeds today, so we should go together!" Liloa exclaims. It would be fun to have someone to go with, and Liloa doesn't really see many others around here. Once in a while there would be one or two others, but usually they weren't her age. Maybe they could do this together in the future too Liloa thought.

"Well, I am sure you will do just fine, under your mother's guidance. I think making clothing for others is a good job to have for yourself one day. And alright, reeds for both of us then. I would like that, about going together to get them. Hopefully we will see ones that will help both us us,"Miliani smiled. She was enjoying Liloa's company.

"Aww, that's a nice thing to say. Thank you," Liloa said. It sure was reassuring to hear someone tell her that. She did used to worry about if she would be able to be as good as her mother before, but now she knew she had someone cheering her on. Liloa felt super energized now.
"Come on! Lets go!" She cried out as she started off looking for those reeds. Those sneaky sneaky reeds. They weren't going to hide from her today. She had a sidekick! biggrin
