Vit had been apprehensive at first to undertake the task of visiting the Rift. Somewhere in it's mind, it wondered if the locals would smell the traitor on it and assemble a pack to hunt it down. Nervously it stood outside the Hall of Shadows before entering and was surprised to find the shadowy guards uninterested in the half-youma but watching. Once inside, it moved down the beaten pathways between ruble, petrified plants, and crystals and soon was navigating through the Rift to see how much the place had changed.
After some time, it sat on a smooth stone flecked with Rift crystal. It tossed a few pebbles to a group of little darting youma (like black kangaroo mice with back spikes that were a violent color of green) when Vitriol heard the crunch of footfalls nearby. Turning about, it looked for the source and saw what seemed to be another half-youma.
Rising up to stand on the stone to be better seen, the lieutenant wave. "Hello there, Sir"

Pyro was going to the rift a little more often because he was in the search of a youma to call his own. This time, he was much more powerful and could easily get one.
Apprehension kept him from going deep in the rift though, not wishing to entice anymore attention to the disappeared old youma in his body. Mamushii was long gone and that was great.
He walked around with his heat vision most the time and only switched when he heard some pebbles hitting something, he really couldn't tell since it was all blue and black mostly around here.
"Holy s**t, what puppy farm they pick you up from?" Pyro looked at the ears and the tail and then the arms. "From a slaughter house?" Was he the slaughter???

It managed a smile through it faltered at the puppy comment.
"Recently recruited." It answered. "Though if given the chance and the command, I'm not above slaughtering anything." That was, after all, the point of most of what it could do and a great advantage to being a soldier. The ability to not hesitate when a command was given.
Staring back at the other, it moved over around the rock and regarded him. "If I had to guess back, I'd say you look like a dragon." It was the closest it could venture to guess with the red scales though scaling seemed to sometimes happen with corruption. Still, he didn't have wings but there was something very off about the signature of the other. It wanted to say half-youma, but the man lacked much in any changes to his appearance other than the scales. Maybe it wasn't even youmafication but a chaotic affliction of some sort. Were there Chaotic diseases or alterations? He had been away and many things could have changed since then.
"Hope I wasn't bothering you Sir." He said. "I was just getting familiar with the terrain of the Rift."

"Why? Planning on going full wolf boy and becoming a youma? Sounds like a bad time kid. I'm gonna call you a kid cause you seem pretty fresh faced if you trying to learn how the rift is." Pyro shoved a thumb in his chest, proudly puffing. "And I'm a general and all after all. So Kid." He came over and lifted one of his hands out to Vit.
"Shake?" He as totally being an a*****e.
"I'm a snake. I'll give you a reward if you shake." He kept his hand out, smirking at the other.

Superiority. Patronizing. Vitriol understood these things and a flicker of pride made it bitter before a humbling self-defeat reminded it that it didn't have any honor to its name. The other was a general with so few marks against them compared to the wolfish half-youma. They had a right to feel superior.
It lifted it's hand and set it upon the other, wrapping large, claws to cover his hand. It gave it a few pumps up and down to shake and released gently.
"I'm Lieutenant Vitriol." It introduced. "You can call me whatever you like." It had no name. It had yet to earn it.
"I don't plan to become a full youma unless the Queen wishes I do."

Pyro felt superior to anybody, to be honest. That's just how it was. He had bounced back from Mamushii's overtaking him with as much flair as a bus running head on to other cars. It was a way of hiding the shame of what he had almost become.
"s**t THAT FEELS SO WEIRDDDDDD." Pyro shook it though, "Now we youma buddies. or half buddies. Whatever, we are cool now. Neat reward right?"
He shrugged, "Vitty or something. I am not something for full names or whatever. Stuck in this form, might as well make it your own right? Names Pyrophanite but Pyro for short. Or General, whatever gets your maw."
He paused, "So you just gonna do whatever the queen says? How come?"

It gave a half smile back. "I don't know how to take the idea of another half-youma saying I'm weird." Was he an even offer one compared to the others and how was his hand weird. Once it was done shaking, it looked at its hand and - yeah it was still weird to him too. "Yeah, I can see it."
Claws, fur, and paw pads. It was a mix or strange and comical.
Setting its hands to its side, it regarded its prize. "It is a neat reward. I know so few half-youmas. Most people didn't even know something like me could exist and spend the time asking me all kinds of questions. I'm still waiting for someone to ask if I had a strange set of parents." It joked.
"Nice to meet you, General Pyro. And yes. I gave my oath to her directly."
And if they were going to ask questions. "Do you live in the barracks?"

"Like anybody else that would say it was weird, like it doesn't ******** matter jesus." Pyrophanite narrowed his eyes, "Uh huh. That's good." At the seeing part.
"Yeah well, Half youma's are still in the works and whatever. Use to be all weird to have them but let's be honest, Half youma's are more useful then regular generals." The joke made him snort. "When a daddy lieutenant and a mommy youma ********-" He stopped there.
"Huh. Sounds boring. I don't live for the queen like anyone else. I love for Pyro." He jabbed a thumb in his chest. "The b***h wants me to do something more, she better pay me better." The question of barracks made him nod.
"Yeah, I live in the barracks in a heated room. My uh.....BFF Hauyne lives here too, so I'm always in their room watching movies and whatever."

"Pay you? They pay you? What would you get with a raise if you did?" It asked, curious what someone might get if they had a good chunk of change to okay with.
"Oh, a heated room. Is it hard living here with no sun? Do you have a harder time in winter?" It asked, wondering just how much if the half-man's anatomy had been mutated to accommodate the youma.
His scales did catch its attention and it could t help but think of a scaled General Queen. It wondered how it felt.
"What does Our feel is worth living for then?"
