Gaia's code wasn't written with different color or CSS modes in mind, so things such as the word bubble would look really awkward if we try changing to dark mode just by changing styling information. Dark mode is a more involved project that need a bit of time and effort to complete unfortunately.

Yes we had an awful bug this morning at around 10:30. The bug should be fixed and the extra gold had been deducted. You should be able to spend your gold now.
I checked when I saw your initial post, but I checked again just to be sure, as I was told all save a few special cases were dealt with. Your extra gold was indeed removed.

Question - I get notices of aquarium glow times but the glow does not happen at the time specified. This has happened repeatedly to me and at least 2 other users. I posted a bug report in January and updated it several times, including today. I see no pattern of time of ignored glows. Why this is happening? Will you fix it? Thanks in advance.

That's an odd one, I'll run some debug and see why this is happening.

Can a favorites feature be added to marketplace shops?
I find myself going back to a few peoples shops often when things in my wishlist get put up for sale and then I'll browse whatever else they have at the time too and use their shop to fill up missing items to my paw collection and hey, sometimes we have the same tastes. It'd be super convenient if I could save my favorite user shops all in one place for quick reference.

The Daily Gift was changed to make it more flexible and fun! We can now not only have gold in the grant as we have this week, but can also put items in it as well, so each week you can have something new to look forward to when you log in!

Not as far as I know, I think the prizes are changed moving forward, and we might add other ways to earn the old items later on.

Hi there,
We are working on a way for you to access the Daily Grant if you close it. Keep an eye out in Staff Updates!
The way the feature is supposed to work is that you get a grant for the days you log in and click on it. The grant is progressive: The first time you click on it, you'll get the first reward, the next time the second.
This means if you don't log in on Monday but do on Tuesday you will get the first reward. If you log in on Wednesday you would get the second reward. If you don't log in again until Friday you would get the third reward. Meanwhile if someone else had been logging in every day they would be up to reward number five!
So the more you log in, the more rewards you can get!

Also, people were confused by the sudden change to the daily login rewards. A lot of people still don't realize we're getting the daily stamps even though it doesn't show them now.
So my question is... is there a plan going forward to improve the communication between Gaia staff and the community regarding changes and events around the site?

All users should had received a PM when the extra gold is granted. It would had been a bug on our end if no PM was received after the gold grant. We will be sure to add more info on the event guide if that type of info is missing. We always try to make things self explanatory, but there are always aspects that we might miss, that's when it's super helpful for all you guys to provide us with feedback.

I had to reup my subscription yesterday because my card was being dumb and flagged Gaia as outside my usual activity (despite being one of two monthly charges since I got the card) and when I tried to reup through Paypal, the link wouldn't work. I pushed all over the button and it wouldn't advance. Is that normal?

In the previous AtS we had asked about the Paws subforum either being unlocked to all users (which was answered with it having been requested that it be a special place just for paws), or that the error message be changed so that non-paw users know that they need to be a paw instead of just thinking that it was indeed just an error (broken link, etc). I've had several people PM me thinking I had blocked them, when I was actually posting them thanking them for their contributions to the Spirit Week we held this past week for Paw-versary!
My question: What has the conclusion on this been? Is there going to be a notice saying "you must be a paw to enter" or something to that effect?
(I always imagine those "you must be this tall to ride" signs at amusement parks.)

As of right now we think we are going to stick to it as being a Paw only forum. Paw users did ask for a place all their own and we agree it's not a bad thing to have.

Those items when sold would grant less than a plat. But the amount of gold/partial plat is added to your account so even tho it looks like you are not getting anything the system keeps track of it all so nothing is lost.

I wasn't able to recompile the HoC executable unfortunately, I don't think I am able to bring the sound back for HoC. There might be a work-around, but I need to test it first.
I'm trying to bring back the tutorial stage next, as for the fountain game I was not successful in bringing it back. Our codebase for zOMG was lost many years ago, and I could not find the old map data anymore.

You do need to click on it to get the grant for that day. We are working on a way so if you close it by accident you can reopen it.

Why are we reminded every time we surf through the forums of how many topics we're blocked from? This feature serves no purpose other than to annoy, bring down and irritate users who are here on Gaia to get away from drama and have a decent experience.
I encourage you to consider removing it, as again, it really does serve 0 purpose and it's just another line of code taking up space. I have heard nothing but complaints about it and how annoying it is. ^_^" I mean, who cares if someone has you blocked? You most likely did something that upset them or vice versa, and if it's water under the bridge then the user knows how to unblock at any time.

For the time being, Astra items can't animate because of most browser's flash animation restrictions. LK items are actually animated through animated GIFs so they're not affected. Many Astra items have very intricate flash animation effects that cannot be easily translated into animated GIF's unfortunately. The amount of work required would be significant unfortunately.

If the reward from the Aquarium Overseer is 100-odd to 222 it can several hundred platinum. Anything issued over this amount is 1 platinum. Similarly when selecting a winner for Message in a Bottle it is 1 platinum.
