She’d finally managed a decent amount of energy and it was done all by herself. Okay, so maybe she’d had a little bit of help from her wraith but wraiths weren’t really people so she wasn’t really going to count them as that kind of help, y’know?
Two very large, very glowy energy orbs rested in the palms of her hands as she sat on the park bench preening. There wasn’t some oversized NegaCrazy Lady there to try to poach it from her this time -- she’d been sure to look out for any huge woman (or street sign) before picking her victims: two lovers walking around in the park together.
They still looked cute, sort of. They at least passed out next to each other and would probably wake up next to each other. That still had to count as romantic on some level, right?
______
It had taken Adelaide a long time to actually power up again, not because she didn’t want to, but mostly because she forgot. And also because she sometimes remembered the time she’d almost been eaten by a youma because Seiryuu hadn’t been paying attention and it had taken her an hour to wash the goo from her hair afterwards.
The point remained that it had been a while, and at the same time, she wasn’t all that familiar with how things as a senshi actually were sometimes. Which was why she had absolutely no sense of discretion or caution as she came ambling up to the girl sitting on the bench with what looked like two things of energy in her hands.
Adelaide bent over, her hair falling over her shoulder, looking at the girl with interest.
“Whatcha doin?”
______
She’d been so caught up in her pride that she hadn’t bothered to pay attention to her surroundings (yet again, a dire mistake had a certain Lieutenant been around, Stop sign or not) so when the other girl chirped up with her question, Lovejoy let out a yelp of surprise before jerking around.
“Who -- What?”
A senshi!
Eyes widened, LJ quickly assuming that the girl knew exactly what she was doing and was just making witty banter attempts before attacking her. That’s how all of these senshi folk worked, right? Sassy comments, back and forth chatter before one of them hit the other?
She wasn’t gonna let this girl get the better of her, no sir!
Both orbs were shifted to one hand while she peeled herself from the bench, free hand pointing towards the stranger as she called out her super attack, dark eyes narrowing.
“Super Confusion!”
Quote:
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Super Confusion!
Spinning her finger in a circular motion, Lovejoy's attack strikes once her finger stops and points in her opposition's direction, shooting out into a swirly (yet directionally straight) line that goes out to a maximum of 10ft. If hit, this attack forces them under a momentary wave of confusion as to the current situation. This lasts for the duration of 1 RP post, the power waning and possibly still leaving the opponent disoriented for the 2nd RP post. Attack can pertain to however the opposing player wills it - confused as to where they are, why they are fighting, who they are, etc. This attack can affect up to 3 individuals, as long as they're near each other. x2 usage.

Adelaide had approximately three seconds to decipher that she was probably in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Also that she was probably about to get hit with some very inconvenient magic, which happened approximately 2.8 seconds after her initial three seconds of discovering this fact.
The world around Adelaide wavered a bit, hovering in and out of focus. She staggered back, her head jerking up in confusion, and glanced around, trying to figure out what was going on, both of her hands rising to press against the sides of her head as though it was about to fall off.
What had she just been doing? She couldn’t really remember, mostly because there seemed to be a lot of swirly things going on, and none of them were actually explaining anything.
“Uh - “
Adelaide dropped her hands from her head and held them in front of her, reaching for the other girl, her brow furrowed.
“What was I just doing? Hey, would you like to help me? Where are we?”
______
As the other girl reached out, Lovejoy took a step back.
There was no telling what sort of confusion was going through the girl’s head - did she remember what had just happened? Did she remember what she was trying to do, prior to the attack? It always made LJ a little wary, at first, until she knew what she was working with. And, with such a limited time to work with her magic, she knew she had to take advantage of it while she still could.
“Help you? How can I help you?” she asked, peering at the colorful girl.
She paused for a brief second, then worked to suppress a grin.
“Weren’t you just leaving? I’m pretty sure you were just saying goodbye.”
Maybe if she managed to get this White Moon gal out of here before the magic wore off, Lovejoy could be in the clear and find her way to a mirror in the meantime.
______
Somewhere in the back of Adelaide’s mind, she was certain that she had just tried to stop someone doing...something.
She wasn’t sure what. It had probably been bad. Maybe she had tried to stop them from stealing the last hot dog. Or maybe she had tried to stop them - her, this girl, because it totally had to just be this girl, because who else would it be? - from getting really bad highlights that definitely wouldn’t look good in her hair, because Adelaide knew a thing or two about hair.
Had she just been leaving? Was that a thing. Adelaide put both of her hands on her hips, squinting over at her companion, and through the fogginess of uncertainty, she started to understand...something. Maybe.
Or maybe she was just imagining it all. Had Blue put his special thing in her brownies again??
“Hey.” Adelaide squinted at her. “No, I wasn’t.”
A pause.
“At least I don’t think I was,” she mused, considering. “But I mean, I think you were doing something bad, so just in case -”
One of her palms opened up, and three multicolored paintballs appeared in a swirl of bright pink, orange, and green.
“If you weren’t doing anything, then, er, sorry love,” Adelaide said, because it never hurt to be careful. “I’ve got to keep cautious, you know. Paintball blitz!”
And with that, she reared back and threw the balls of paint towards the girl like a baseball throw.
Quote:
Paintball Blitz - Multicolored paint balls appear in Adelaide's hands, about the size of a tennis ball. She can throw them at her opponent, and they hold their shape long enough to cause an impact without about the force of a beanbag capable of bruising lightly or at the very least, distracting the opponent. Three times per battle.
______
Eyes widened as she saw the girl beginning to clear her head -- crap, that was a LOT faster than she was prepared for!
Boots started taking her off in the direction of the park’s exit but not before the other girl had time to launch her attack right back at Lovejoy -- even stating an apology if she wasn’t doing anything bad! What the hell!!!!
As each ball collided with various parts of her, Lovejoy let out a pained wince. They weren’t as painful as a Stop or Yield sign but they stung all the same, no doubt going to leave a bruise or two behind. It caused her to almost trip and lose her energy orbs but she stumbled back to her upright position (thankfully), orbs nestled against her chest as her arm kept them pressed to her.
“Maybe you should take care of them instead!” She hollered out, gesturing towards the fallen couple. Turning back around, she raced out of the park’s entrance and around the corner, in desperate search for the nearest mirror to escape into.
______
”Hey!”
Adelaide still didn’t quite understand what was happening, mostly because her mind was still full of fuzzy white stuff and spirals and also some cats in there somewhere. The paint wasn’t sticking to her hands, at least, which she’d been afraid of when she’d first started as a senshi, but it did kind of hurt like heck when it was hurled at someone. She’d gotten slammed by a paintball gun, after all.
She felt your pain, Lovejoy. Even if she didn’t actually feel it.
“Come back here!” Adelaide hollered, because the girl was running off now, and that didn’t make sense either. She put her hands on her hips, staring after her, and the foggy confusion that had been muddling her thoughts slowly began to ebb a little more. As the figure in front of her became smaller and smaller, the last traces of the magic dissipated.
“HEY!” Adelaide yelled. “NOT FAIR!”
But it was too late. The girl was gone.
Adelaide turned slowly to stare at the couple on the ground.
“Bollucks.”
