Derrick stretched once again as he and Key entered the park. He couldn't help but feel excited that he could finally walk through the park without freezing! Sure, he still needed to wear a long-sleeved hoodie and jeans, but if he got warm enough, he could at least wrap the hoodie around his waist. Still though, when the weather had finally settled and decided it would be above forty degrees for over a week, he and Key had decided they would celebrate by taking a walk in the park. Even though the trees were still quite barren and the wind was a bit cold, the sun was shining and the grass was staring to turn green again. Derrick felt like doing some parkour, but had decided that he would need to build up to that again considering that he hadn't done much exercising in the winter. Sure, he and Key had taken advantage of the cold weather to get to know each other better, but they had still been stuck inside most of the time, which had made them restless. When they finally could go out again, they had practically run out into the streets with joy. Luckily all they did do was open the windows a bit to enjoy the air. He looked at Key who was next to him and grin. "It feels like forever since we've been able to go outside like this. I thought winter was never going to end."

The fact that winter seemed to have finally broken, and given way to spring, was something to celebrate - in her opinion. She was done with the cold weather, despite all the warm bed snuggled shared with Derrick, she was done with it all. She wasn't done with cuddling Derrick; never would be. But she was done with winter - she was happy for spring. Even if she needed a hoodie.
"Same here. It just seemed to go on and on. When it seemed it was over, and we'd get a warm day the next would be cold." Warm by the standards for this time of year, not warm by her own standards of course.
"Then there was the snow or the cold rain we kept getting on and off." There had been a week where it was little more than rain, drizzle, and gloomy dreary skies. It had been miserable, all she'd wanted to do was sleep that week.
"Hopefully summer this year is hot and bright." Though she might need new sunglasses...among other things. "I'm looking forward to it." Even if it meant sunburns, the need for air conditioning, sunblock and the smell it typically came with, and the other few negative things. She was excited for it!
"I can't wait to try and learn to surf either."

Derrick nodded in agreement. "Don't they say winter blues is a thing or something? Even with all of the events in Destiny City, I still feel like moving to a place that just doesn't get snow. I think I'd be a lot more useful there." For a moment he wondered if his moon ever got snow, but considering it was in what seemed to be perpetual darkness for now, he couldn't tell. There was certainly no life there except for one. And he wasn't at all eager to meet the thing. "Maybe your Wonder is better? We could try to make a vacation home there." He said, half serous and half joking. He thought he had mentioned it before, but he was seriously considering it now since this winter had been particularly awful. A silly grin stayed on his face and seemed to be permanently stuck as he continued to look around and just... appreciate the weather and nature. Sure, this wouldn't last forever, too soon winter would be coming again, but perhaps they could figure out what to do indoors this time. Even if he did like what they were doing before. "I could do without the humidity, but if we have to have it for it to be hot outside then so be it. I'd rather be sitting outside with a cold refreshing drink than inside trying to stay warm and keeping my hands permanently glued to a mug of hot chocolate." He needed to get he parkour equipment out. It had been too long. He still needed to get that surfing suit. "I want to try too. Hopefully we'll be able to do it as much as possible together even with out schedules. I feel like learning other things just to give me more excuses to be outside. One never seems to appreciate this type of weather until we don't have it anymore, and I would like to enjoy as much of it as possible." He said, before slowly taking Key's hand and lacing it with his. "But for right now, just the fresh air is a nice change of pace."

"I'm sure I've heard the term before...or similar. I think back in high school, in history class, it was discussed about a book we were reading. It took place in New England during winter and you could see it in the mood of the characters." She couldn't though remember the name of the book, but she could remember the topic being discussed. It was the only time it had really come up, but everyone did seem to suffer winter blues.
"We could try....though bringing materials up there, even if just for repairs, might be difficult. I imagine it's cold there...Castor...." She said. She knew it was going to be cold, she was sure of this, she'd met him and knew by his uniform the themes was somehow cold. "Heating might be an issue as well." If it was as cold as she was somehow sure it would be. "Maybe we should just save up for a vacation next winter? Somewhere warm." It wouldn't be a bad idea though it would be tight to budget, she was sure they could manage to swing it if they tried.
"it is a nice idea though....to have a warm vacation home to run to when it gets cold." When it gets dangerous here. It seemed that with Halloween and Christmas that the whole of fall and winter was dangerous in this city. Once it got warm it wasn't as bad, though it wasn't perfect. They still were needed in this city to keep it safe - to fight. "I agree with that....I hate the humidity but I'll tolerate it over the cold...though the cold nights together under a warm blanket were nice." And they would be nice next year as well. Those nights she enjoyed.
"I'll try and work my schedule around yours so we can get to the beach together." So they could try and learn together, and laugh at each other for mistakes. "I don't need excuses to be outside but i do need things to do when I am outside." And this was the perfect thing really, not that everything else she enjoyed doing wasn't enough already. One more thing was always welcome for her. "You mean till winter comes." She said rolling her eyes and poking at the other. "Winter is when we regret not enjoying the summer as much as we should have...and we appreciate it more. Especially in this city." Because winter always came with unwanted surprises. Winter was never peaceful here.
"Why don't we find somewhere to sit in the sun and enjoy watching everyone for a bit?" Glancing about as if a bench might just magically appear for her.

"Well, if you ever do remember what book it was, tell me if you can. I would love to relate to some characters about the cold." He said laughing a little. Perhaps he just felt much happier with all of this sunlight, but he felt like running a hundred miles just to enjoy the heat! Which of course he then wouldn't enjoy because it would be too hot. "I agree with the saving. That would be nice. Though I'm sure we could bring some firewood or something to make it a bit warmer on Castor." Was it really cold? He wondered, considering her uniform, how they must have survived the cold up there if they were showing that much skin. Not that it was a terrible amount, but usually one didn't go into a snowstorm with most of their arms uncovered. "Hmm, we need more of those. Do we have any heated blankets...?" He muttered the question to himself, not really sure if she had heard, but he would go and check anyway just to make sure. He was sure that they sold some nice ones at Costco or something. And if they didn't, they still had those nice fluffy thick blankets they could get. "We could have some romantic background music going on as well. I think it would be nice just to enjoy each other's company." Not that they ignored each other now or anything, but to be able to appreciate being close to the other in such a way wasn't there too often during the other times of the year. "If you want we can save up for a warm vacation home. I'm sure we can set aside some of our budget." Not that he spent a lot of it anyway. He didn't have a car or many other bills to pay. "Beach would be great. Would love to surf there a bit. Maybe even see a shark or two." He replied grinning at her. He was kidding, but seriously if there were sharks he wanted to see them. "I agree though. It's the same during winter. If I'm outside I want to be doing things out there. Though in Winter it's more like a chore, but during the summer it's because I want to enjoy it as much as possible." Heck, even walking back home from work was exhausting, and he didn't even live that far away anymore. Why did winter have to be so cold?! He nodded. "Sounds good..." He started to look for a bench as well. "If there are no benches, I'm sure we could find a nice spot under a tree. That way we get some shade as well and can appreciate nature a bit."

"If I remember I'll have to tell you. But I don't think you'll relate fully to the character. If I remember they were depressed, due to the winter in part, but also their general life...and suffered a lot." She couldn't remember it all but she was sure with the help of google she could remember the stories name. She did remember where the story took place, in the general sense, and she knew it had been in high school and was something read by every class in that year.
"Firewood would be good as well as something to start the fire with - a lighter." She hadn't thought too much on it but it would make her wonder, and the planet it resided on, much more tolerable. "Heated blankets...." With a thoughtful look on her face she shook her head slowly. "No...I don't think we have even one. We should get a few before fall really hits." So they'd have them before it got cold, like in November.
"I agree with you about winter and summer...and a summer home I think we should save up for. It doesn't need to be big but maybe close to the water. And no sharks! At least not for me. Much as I'd love to see one I'd bet anything I'd have bad luck and they'd be hungry as I go by." And they'd try and make a meal of her. She didn't think she'd have such good luck as to simply enjoy a shark swimming by her.
"Mmm, there should be a bench around here." Broken away from her thoughts of a nice winter home, and sharks, she was now looking around for a bench. There had to be one around here somewhere.

Derrick thought for a moment about what she said. "Perhaps not... I can't say my general life is bad. But I can't say that my powered one is the greatest. I have you of course," He gave her a warm smile, "but the fact that I can't even go to my Homeworld without a feeling of doom every time, to the point where I either want to see what's inside it myself or leave immediately..." Something would happen in the future. Eventually. He shook his head. "Sorry, I'm complaining again about that and I shouldn't. It's just the winter and dark remind me of it. I don't think my Homeworld has seen the sun for over a thousand years at this point. And eventually that's going to have to change."He wasn't sure how other than defeating whatever monster there was that was sealed within it. And he would have to figure out how to deal with it. Whether it was sealing it again or killing it for good this time. "Maybe not the best book if the person suffered a lot though." He chuckled. He moved closer to her and gently grabbed her hand with his. "I think there's one just around the bend here. We can take a rest there." He almost murmured it, thinking about what she had previously said. "A summer and winter home... that would be nice..." And it would mean a much more serious commitment, one that he was willing to take, but it would still be a large change. "Where would we find a house close to the water that doesn't have sharks though?"

"It's alright to complain, I'd expect it honestly. With all this past life buisness thrown at us and it being something we can't enterily excape." And something which shaped their lives at this point. It was ok, and certainly understandable, to complain about it. It was something they couldn't hide from or escape nor was it something they should escape. They did have to try and make sure this all ended. But to be tied to a homeworld in space...and have to care about a place which, till powerin gup, had no part of their lives.
She supposed if she wanted to compare things perhaps Harry Potter would oddly enough work well. A child who grew up only to be landed in another world...given powers...and told he had this whole title and set of duties placed on his shoulders which included a war. Yes, it did seem to fit as best as possible. So thinking that, and coming to that conclusion, she said it.
She said it and explained it to Derrick as well.
"Spring will need to arrive eventually...but that's when you choose." She added with a nod of her head.
Twinging their fingers together she couldn't help but smile and laugh at his words. "How about some sharks. I don't think I'd mind some...perhaps just not much for deaths or attacks by them?"

He smiled at her. "Really? Honestly I do feel a bit better. I mean, I know there's still that monster on my planet, but at least I don't have someone out there trying to kill me that's on Earth..." Really, how Harry had survived for so long was a mystery to him. Voldemort really needed better minions. "Thank you. I appreciate the comparison. It's just... something that will need to be done eventually, and I hope that I can get enough people to help me with it. I promised myself that I would make it through this, but I just want it to be over with too." Entirely. The monster would need to be gone and dead by the end of all of this. He gripped her hand a bit tighter, glad to have her hand in his. "Some sharks? We could get some nurse sharks or something. The kind you know won't attack humans. Though if you really want, maybe we can train some sharks to patrol the waters and attack anyone who went in that wasn't us." He was pretty sure that sharks could remember people. If they managed to befriend one, he was sure they could teach it how to attack. How to get it to tell the difference between them and others was the main problem. "I'm just glad we're here again. It always feels like everything goes to sleep in the winter. Spring and Summer just give me hope that thing are going to get better."

"That is a good thing. You can choose not to go to your planet and avoid it, plus it's locked up, here we really can't escape." Not when they could get pulled into things without warning, the fights which came their way because they were out on a patrol. Yeah, they didn't have much of an escape from things down here on Earth.
"Let's hope we can find enough people...we aren't exactly the most social with others." Which would make it harder for them no doubt. She wasn't even sure how many other knights and senshi were around at this point. She didn't know many others and hadn't taken to getting contact information for the few she had run into. This might be a really difficult thing for them indeed...
"I don't think sharks can be trained like that." Laughing as she pressed a kiss to his cheek. "Though that would be interesting, guard sharks." That was a rather humorous idea.
"We'll have to sit down soon and figure out money then if we're serious about another place, a secondary home." To escape the winter and go somewhere nice and warm. They could do it, with time and work, but they needed to figure out the how.

"I hadn't thought about that, but it is true." Still, it felt a bit... weird? He wasn't sure. He did feel a connection to his Homeworld, as though he needed to go there more often and to finally end what had tormented it for so long. But he felt safer on Earth and almost felt like he didn't have a Homeworld at this point, but as Key pointed out, it came with it's own dangers. He couldn't really decide which was worse at this point. "I think if there's some way to send out a signal that others would come. I haven't met too many either, but I think some would be willing to come fight a monster. At least it would be different than fighting a youma or Agent or an ambush." Though he didn't mind fighting Agents. He just wished he could do more against them. "I do want to see your Wonder at some point. It can be after you visit my Homeworld, so not anytime soon, but I would love to see what you're protecting."He nodded at her idea. Even if they only lived in an apartment, they didn't have any huge expenses or tons of debt. They could figure it out. "I'm sure we'll be able to do it. We just have to be smart and plan ahead. But for right now... I think it's good to enjoy the fact that we can just walk outside without immediately wanting to go back in again."

"Others would come, those interested in space and homeworlds." And wonders, of course, because some were keenly interested in reclaiming what they'd lost in a past life. It wasn't her thing, not really, it was only an interest for her because it could be useful as well as a nice vacation idea if ever wanted. But to reclaim it like a posession...because of some ancient connection - no. That wasn't her thing, not really. She liked to live for the here and now, though she did have to figure on what they could do if the Negaverse won or continued to get stronger.
"It would be certainly different fighting whatever is on your planet...but I have a feeling it might be worse. Though clearly it out would be a good ides, safer for us in the future if ever need be." She had to figure things in Destiny City might get worse in the future, they all should really.
"We can start with just keeping track of what goes inand comes out. We can budget in things we want to do." Since both of them were rather active and liked to get into various things, she didn't want to trim away too much there. Not only were activities healthy but also good in an emotionmal and mental health sense. Doing nothing but work, senshi and knights things, and home life were not healthy really. Not in her opinion anyway.
"I'll bring you to my wonder soon...but I've only been there once myself. It really wasn't a lot if you ask me." Somewhat boring even. She knew others wouldn't feel the same as herself, and that was ok, some might even be shocked an appaled at her opinions. T hat was ok as well.

He smiled. "Yeah, they would. I appreciate you saying it though. It sounds more... real coming from someone else." He said, staring out into the distance a bit before turning back to her. "We know how the Negaverse works, at least a little. This thing... I haven't been able to make heads or tails of what it's capable of doing. But I want to end my Homeworld's curse or whatever someone wants to call it. Even if I don't manage to see it come back to life, I want the next Senshi to not have to worry about fighting some monster. They could be the ones that truly figure out what the world was supposed to do." Slightly morbid thinking, but he didn't know how long it could take to restore a Homeworld or a Wonder and considering how big both of those things could be, maybe even just restoring one area fully would take a decade. And from what he knew, no one had found a way to be able to survive on any of those Wonders or Worlds. He moved closer to her, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and letting out a sigh. "That sounds like a good idea. I'm sure there might be some things that we will have to trim, but for the most part we should be able to continue doing what we love, especially outside and..." He went to nuzzle his nose against her cheek. "inside as well.".

"Mmm, I understand your reasoning. To be honest I don't think we'll see a full restoration of our worlds, or wonders." Since she was working on a single wonder and not a homeworld like he was. She had less to work on but figured it would be difficult as well. "I think we'll work as much as we can and than when we die our starseeds will be reboren and the job continued." She just hoped it wouldn't be a long wait or things could back peddle. "Let's hope we keep our starseeds till the end of this. If we do and we can beat the Negaverse we might be reborn here in safety and no other generations will have to worry about this and can focus on space." Which would make things easier, less dividing of ones time.
Laughing, her cheeks dusting a light pink, she turned towards the other and pressed her lips firm to his. "I should hope nothing would need to be trimmed from activities of the inddor nature." With a smile in place she grabbed at his collar. "I do hope you are thinking similar to myself right now."

He wasn't sure just how many people could see them right now, but he suddenly really wanted to get back to their apartment. "I believe I am. You want to... move back indoors?" He said with a sly grin. He would have responded about the starseeds, but his world had already been mostly destroyed by the time chaos had gotten to his Homeworld that he could tell, it was hard with the constant darkness. If he even made the grass come back that would be an accomplishment. He squeezed her side. "We can go outside more... tomorrow."Sleet Tempest Snape End post from me! Thank you for the rp!
