[PRP] An Eye for the Exotic (See Inside)

The day started started off with a bang; quite literally in fact.

Ananke's mother had not been lying when she said that humans were truly fascinating to watch. They could make the most unusual bits and pieces, some more exotic and unique than others. At first she'd wondered how they did the things they did, and then after several discussions with her grandmother's raccoon she had soon discovered that it had something to do with their uh... 'paws'.

They could do weird things with those paws and apparently, on this particular morning it involved causing several explosions at once. Ananke had been grazing comfortably near by the colonial area, admiring the odd beasts that they had brought with them (she'd later discover these were boats), when she'd heard that fateful bang and noticed smoke in the depths of the enclave.

"Huh," she mused thoughtfully and tilted her head to the side.

Now she was curious as to what they had made this time.

Rhea did not really like the loud noises or the strange creatures with their strange paws they brought weird things with them and did weird things, she narrowed her eyes looking out in the direction of the (boats) and she frowned. She came up behind Ananke and said "Why do you like watching those creatures so much?" Rhea didn't understand Ana's fascination with the strange beasts. It made no sense to her they made so much mess and so many loud noises what use did they really have? She shook her head "They are so noisy."

"Noisy, but very creative!" Her enthusiasm knew no bounds as she strained her eyes to see what might have caused the explosions. So far, save for some smoke, there were no indications of anything too serious. She'd have known if there was a fire, both she and Rhea would have smelled it...but at this particular moment in time there was no sign of that.

"They're fun to watch, you never know what they'll make from today until the next," she pointed out and glanced briefly at her sister. "Or what trouble they might get themselves in to," she added after a moment. Still, the red mare was a little disappointed that at this particular moment in time there didn't seem to be anything happening. Now that the explosion had happened it had all...stopped?

There had been no flurry of activity as she'd expected.

...Or rather there hadn't been, and then she did see something. She wasn't sure what it was but it had been a flicker of colour and soon after, she saw some of the peculiar human creatures darting after it. Was that what had caused the bang?

"Ooooh, did you see that?"

Rhea snorted out and then laughed she found it funny that her sister liked the humans so much, but she couldn't say much since she wore some things she thought might have been gathered by humans as well so there was that after all. She blinked and frowned wondering what she was seeing. "What is that?" She asked moving along trying to get a better look to see what was going on and what was causing the banging noise. She didn't like the banging noise but such was life and getting a closer look at the humans. She didn't want them to see her though.

Ananke didn't quite know what 'guns' were, she had next to no real exposure to the humans of this world and given their families weren't really that interested in pursuing a relationship with them, she was quite naive. Nevertheless she was still able to figure out what those bangs were directed at even if she didn't know what they were.

"I think it's a bear," Ananke said with a touch of surprise as another flicker of blue and pink darted passed her line of sight in the distance.

She paused briefly, waiting to see if she would spot it again and sure enough there it was again! Distinct in colour, it was difficult to miss and it was really quite large. Apparently these humans didn't seem to like it very much which was odd given that other humans that didn't live in quite as sturdy homes had always been quite fond of them.

Another pause, and then she saw a second.

"There's two!" she seemed positively delighted as she strained to see both brightly coloured beasts before they seemed to find a way out of the compound through a rather large hole in the back fencing.

Ah, but while the humans seemed to have thought better of pursuing them (even if the bangs did keep coming over the fence), it did look like the two bears were now headed right for them.

Rhea frowned "Why would they make banging noises at a bear, what has the bear done to deserve to be made deaf." At this point, she did not care for humans at all if they harmed other creatures for pointless reasons. Rhea blinked as she saw that the bears were heading in their direction. She was not afraid of bears nor did she want to get knocked down by a pair that were running from the very loud noises. These pale humans were really annoying, if they would have left the bears in peace as others did there would not have been a problem. "Umm, I think we should.." She really wasn't sure what they should do. Perhaps they should stay there and just dodge the bears to make sure the white beasts did not continue to chase the poor bears with their noise sticks.
