[PRP] of fish and flowers (Neoma x Prephessy O)

Prephessy Oraclation was plodding along looking at the different shops. He had just recently moved and this land and dryness was all strange to him. It felt odd hearing things without the distortion of water. He was still trying to get used to it all. He had gotten used to the feeling of being ‘heavy’ out of the water but he wasn’t sure how others dealt with it. He was still trying to decorate his apartment and that had lead him to wandering the streets of Everville. He spotted a flower shop and wondered if they had aquatic plants. It was a stretch given there wasn’t much of the deep see here but he wanted to check. Slowly opening the shop he froze for a half a second as a bell went off overhead. Sliding in the rest of the way he noticed a large amount of land flowers that were cut and some that were potted. He nearly turned and left but he did want something else in his apartment even if it was a land flower he decided sadly. “Hello?” He called out softly but sounded harsh in the air. He had been told his voice sounded like rocks rolling around and given his size he supposed he was somewhat intimidating. Slouching down so as not to seem to large he started to look around the shop. His light glowing softly while he looked from flower to flower. He had no idea what the names of the flowers were or why they smelled so strange to him. He supposed the next time he visited the university library he would pick up a book to look at so that he could understand their appeal. Aquatic plants were far better in his mind. He hoped if he did get a flower the seller could explain how to take care of it to him.

Neoma silently worried as she paced back and forth behind the counter of her sister's and hers flower shop, glancing up at the clock every now and then. Behind her, that tailmouth of hers kept a good grip of the handle of a basket; cooing something that sounded like a tune. The hybrid let out a soft groan when she looks to the clock, then to the front door, only to return back to pacing. It seems that the shop was out of a particular flower that needed to be restocked, so Soliel went back to their garden to get some more, leaving her behind to watch the store. "Oh... Soliel, what is taking so long?" She questions quietly, looking to the clock again. Now, she didn't mind being in the shop. It was handling customers that was her problem, more quiet and reserved than her sister; it also didn't help she often worried how ponies would react to her being part Ghoulie.

The ghouliecorn perks up hopefully at the chime of the bell, glancing over the counter at the door... only to squeak in surprise at the sight of someone completely different. She didn't reply when he called out, instead ducking her head a little while watching the aquatic start to move around the shop... oddly at that. Taking a breath, she eventually gathered up the nerve to move around the counter and slowly make her way towards the other pony. "H-hello. How can I help you?"

Prephessy looked at the shop keep as she spoke. At the first noise he had been surprised so his lure glowed before he saw it was only the shop keeper. Once he settled from the shock the glow from his lure dimmed down. He hoped he didn’t scare her. Her pattern was quite lovely and her eyes were like the more verdant of sea plants. Many aquatics would have loved to have such a pattern. His voice rumbled out. “I would like a house plant. I didn’t notice any …water plants. Could you tell me about a plant that is easy to take care of that is ok with high humidity.” He hoped she could help him as it would be nice to have something pretty around the apartment. His own disfigurement did not stop him from appreciating the beauty in other things. He noticed something odd about the ponies tail. She had a tail with teeth that were like his own. It was oddly a comforting as he worried that there might be some on the surface who might find him more intimidating then he was. Keeping himself from being to large he looked around trying to figure out what kind of plants he might actually be able to raise. His eyes looked out from under his bangs and noticed a basket. A little foal? That was interesting. He could imagine it must be hard to have a young one and run a shop.

Neoma stopped in place and takes a step back the moment the glow started to shine through the store, not quite knowing what to make of it. Even when the light finally dimmed, the ghouliecorn stood in place for a moment. Now she's never met an Aquatic before, so she had no clue if that was natural for them...or if it was just something special to the stallion in front of her. Either way, it was quite a surprise. The mention of no aquatic plants and wanting plant suggestions sort of snapped her out of it. "O-oh... sorry about that. No, we don't have water plants, b-but I could possibly talk with my sister about finding someone who could provide us some." She replies, hoofing at the ground nervously. While she spoke, her tailmouth turns to 'look' at the customer for a moment, basket still held softly between its teeth; giving the male a curious tilt of its head while it takes in the smell. "A-as for plants that are easy to care for, and in high humidity... I-I can suggest a bromeliad." Slowly, she turns and softly motions for him to follow; leading the way to a display of a few of the mentioned plants. "Th-they're not that hard to care for." Despite still being nervous about handling the shop by herself, she was happy that the customer didn't seem to mind that she was part Ghoulie and it actually calmed her a little.

His ears drooped a bit when he heard that there was no aquatic plant available. It had been a long shot after all. He would not special order in a plant for himself. That would be a waste of luxury on himself that he was not willing to indulge in so soon after moving. He noticed her seeming shyness. He couldn’t blame her. She was alone in a store with a larger stranger. He noticed then her tail moved and was looking him. He tilted his head and leaned in quite curious about it and leaned in slightly looking back at it but also not wanting to get to close and scare it into bumping the basket into something and risk harming the foal. “Bro-mel-i-ads?” Straightening quickly up he didn’t think to shrink himself so as not appear to tall. “I’ve never had to take care of one could you tell me what to expect? I’ll be in an out with research and work so does it need careful tending?” He didn’t want to kill them by accident as his naivety just because someone who was skilled with plants said it was easy didn’t mean it was easy for one unskilled. He had to admit they were pretty with their fat leaves and some of them seemed like little spikes. “They come in a variety of colors.” His ear fins moved and his light seemed to give a very soft glow looking at the plants. He shifted and noticed he was getting close the basket. “Sorry.” Stepping away a bit he gave the tail and basket more space.

The small ghouliecorn frowned slightly when the larger Aquatic seemed a bit upset at the news that they didn't have water plants... at least at the time being. It was just a little upsetting to her when she couldn't provide something for a customer. She knows he didn't ask it, but she was still going to ask her sister about getting some water plants in their stock for the future case this stallion returns for more later. Her hooves continued to softly scrape the floor, not really nervous about the Aquatic's size, just more socially awkward and nervous about... well... herself. She wasn't full ghoulie, but she never knew who did or didn't have a bias about the breed. "Th-they don't last too long, and flower only a-about once, but they're really beautiful." She explains softly. Her tail didn't seem to mind when the stallion got a little closer, giving him a curious sniff or two before he stepped away, followed by Neoma taking some shy steps back as well. "E-even though they don't live long, bromeliads do grow a copy of themselves that is able to be replanted th-that grows into another plant that you can grow from scratch." She explains, and proceeds to explain the process of how to take care of the plant step by step. While she talked about the care, she didn't seem to be so shy... still a little awkward and the small stutter didn't seem to fade, but she was definitely more confident. It was only when the stallion apologizes and moves away that she seemed to snap out of it. "O-oh... it's alright. N-no harm, n-no foul."

Prephessy listened intently to the shopkeeper to talk about bromeliads. She seemed much more at easy when talking about the plants. He was very relieved she didn’t seem to mind him being close to the basket but he still wanted to give the small basket space as he was quite a bit larger. “Thank you.” His tail fin gave a slow wave back and forth as his light seemed to dim a bit into a more relaxing glow as he himself relaxed. “How do they do with humidity?” The step by step care the shopkeeper had been telling him made in very interested in keeping bromeliads. It seemed like a fairly good match for what he was looking for even if it wasn’t a water plant. There was a particularly vibrant green one that he was looking at. He could appreciate the beauty in it's small spike like form. “Do you recommend getting a few of these at a time or is it just one plant per pot?” His apartment wasn’t to large at the moment but he knew he would likely have to move again when his clinic was officially open. He looked around the shop seeing the other plants. in truth he was still feeling awkward but she seemed more relaxed talking about plants so he used it as a distraction. “These all look quite well cared for.” Though he didn’t know a lot about plants he could tell the bright colors and no blight on leaves meant they were healthy. “Do you just sell the plants or do you also sell things to keep taking care of them as well?” He wanted to know if he could keep coming back to one shop for all of his plant needs or if she would recommend another shop for supplies.
