Packing was relatively easy. He already had some nice rolling luggage and no pets at home to care for. This made getting his affairs in order before the trip exceptionally easy. Making sure his salon clients was a little more difficult, as the Negaverse mission had a bit of a fluid timeline. Caleb wasn't sure exactly how long they'd be gone.

Oh well. It came with the territory. And besides, free travel, free room and board!

Hopefully wherever they were staying had an expansive breakfast menu, laundry facilities and a soaking tub.

His phone buzzed on the dresser as the redhead was trying to decide between six different dress shirts. The shirts could wait. Scooping up the phone brought a smile to his face. Cerissé was asking about him.

Caleb had decided all six dress shirts would be necessary. What if they had a large swath of time with which they could explore the sights and scenery? If they were representing the DC Negaverse on the other side of the pond, the redhead figured it would be pertinent to put his best-dressed foot forward. With the ability to check luggage, two suitcases would be enough, wouldn't it? He could stow away all the shampoo and conditioner (and those deadly, deadly nail clippers) on another bag and check it at the gate and...

Bzz bzz...

Oh? Two texts? Cerissé must be terribly frazzled.



Or, rather, they should. This was a business trip, after all.

With a chuckle, he typed out another text.



It was to foster work relationships! Always on the up-and-up.

For his part, Caleb took his time in arriving, setting aside some slacks in case the group had enough time to pursue the town. He wanted to look good, put together even, before selecting the fanciest restaurants with the best reviews online. He craved a good steak and fine wine. Europeans knew how to make the best wines. Sorry California.



After all, who knows how long they'd be away on this mission?

Dressing in something less formal (a fitting ribbed sweater and jeans) for his arrival at Cerissé's humble abode, a knock on her door arrived an hour or so later. When she opened the door, Cerissé was greeted with a bottle of merlot. "I thought you might like a drink to help settle the nerves. How are you doing, darling? And how many suitcases are we working with?"

He made a mental note of what Cerissé might want to bring - makeup, jewelry, lovely form-fitting dresses for nights on the town (entirely for reconnaissance purposes!)... Oh, and probably practical things like medication. But those were boring. "Would you like me to pick you up before going to the airport? One less thing to worry about."
