[Awakening] Special Delivery (Tetrahedrite, Citrine)

Sometimes, Gan wondered if going across the world to live had really been such a great idea. Truly, he was lucky for the opportunity be here, but…was it really that great?

Sure, he was thinking that because his delivery job he’d picked up recently was taking him to a rather…questionable area of a rather questionable city. Not all the street lights worked, he felt like he was liable to get stabbed if he looked at someone the wrong way…Not the greatest of spots. Truly, he was blessed to be here. But...still. Those shadows seemed extra suspicious.

It felt silly, being nervous in a place like this while also being a fairly imposing man in his own right, so he made a point of ignoring it as he hurried his parcel to its destination…down some alleyway. What an odd place to expect a delivery to be not stolen, but that wasn’t really his problem.

Still. As he walked past a ripe smelling dumpster, he reflected that this felt like a bit of a set up.

Citrine was bored.

It had been a common feeling for her whenever she'd gone out on her own to fulfill her quotas. Being solo meant that she could do whatever she wanted and didn't have to worry about her companion or whatever but it also meant that it was all business and not nearly enough pleasure which meant things were boring.

In fact, she was leaning up against the wall near the back alley exit of one of the bars, some slumped over fool on the ground beside her examining her nails when someone interesting passed by.

Oh.

He looked like a beefy hunk.

"Excuse me guapismo~"

Of all the various ambushes Gan might have imagined, a neon green haired young woman in a...rather revealing outfit.

And while he was a multilingual person, he didn’t actually know Spanish, although had a pretty good idea exactly what she’d meant (having a general understanding of many insults and compliments was not a bad idea).

He stopped and eyed her a moment, and then down at the slumped figure. “What...” he started, and then chose to amend the initial question, keeping his tone calm, “are you doing back here?”

Her smile was both sharp and flirty when she flashed it his way, pushing off the wall to stride towards the man. She was completely shameless when she let her gaze drift over him before she followed his line of sight to the slumped over man behind her.

She waved a hand dismissively. "Oh, that? He was getting to handsy and he's not cute enough to get that sort of attention from me," she replied in a breezy sort of way, shoulders shrugging before she encroached on his space.

"You, however, look fun."

At the very least he looked like he had a decent amount of muscle and that kept her interest, it would be seen if his personality kept it too.

His eyes narrowed suspiciously at the woman as he nodded slowly. “I see, well, I think of myself as being a...fun individual at times, although I do wonder what such a,” he paused for a beat, “stunning lady would be doing in a place like this,” he gestured around to the dingy alley, “with company like that.” He then gestured to the body below.

Certainly, there was something bad going on here, and he had the very strong impression that this woman, unlikely though it seemed, was someone he did not want to upset.

That there was an unconscious and possibly dead person here was not good, per say, but that was life sometimes, so he chose to not let it concern him overmuch, and thus the only time he looked at the person was when he gestured to the body.

Her sharp grin seemed to widen, like a cat who caught their prey and she stepped even closer, clearly not worried about her physical safety at all.

"A girl's gotta have her playthings, don't you think?" She purred, reaching to press her index finger against the man's chest. "Sometimes I like seeing what's happening around the city." Citrine shrugged, nonplussed by the fact that things looked suspicious.

"Men that don't respect boundaries deserve to be taught a lesson don't you think?" She blinked, peering up at him from lowered lashes.

"You should tell me about yourself, I'll even let you take me somewhere more...appropriate."

Gan's eyebrows raised slightly, and he nodded slowly. "Respect for all is important," he agreed carefully. "Those with no respect will certainly," he paused a beat again, his eyes flicking toward the person on the ground, "Get what's coming to them, sooner or later."

"I'm merely on a delivery," he offered, and looked down at the small package. "My last one today, in fact." He leaned back slightly and peered further down the way. "To right over there, it looks like, so if you'll spare me a moment, we can leave this...unpleasant spot behind."

The small package was hardly of interest to Citrine but she looked at it none the less. Lips pursed, the woman clearly contemplating how nice she wanted to keep playing when she had already decided that she like the man and felt like making him hers in a sense.

"Mmm, alright," she purred, feeling agreeable when she stepped back and tossed her ridiculously long brightly colored locks over her shoulder.

"Don't keep me waiting too long." It didn't matter that she said it sweetly, there was clearly a bit of warning with how she smiled at him.

Gansükh didn't really know what he was getting into, but he was pretty sure this was about to turn into a very unusual evening. He still didn't feel threatened by her, exactly, but neither did he relax. He put the package at the designated door and returned within a minute to the woman, striding confidently with only a bit of visible tenseness to the movement of his arms.

"Not long at all, you see," he told her with a slight bow. "Forgive me for not saying earlier," he spoke carefully and with a bit of formality, "My name is Gansükh. A pleasure to meet you." He offered an arm. "Shall we?"

Bright green eyes dragged over the delivery man as he walked back over. It wasn't hard to notice the tiny bit of tension in the way he held his arms. He was broadcasting confidence while displaying that something about her had him on edge.

Good.

"What's it from, the name?" She asked, sliding her hand through the space between arm and chest, painted nails wrapping around his bicep.

"You seem adventurous, I like that."

"Mongolia," he replied, gently guiding her the general direction of less...dreary places. "Which is where I am from, originally. Though I have been in the states for several years now."

"Adventure," Gan cracked a smile as he said the word. "Is a wonderful thing, though being here has proven to be an adventure mostly in economics."

"Might I ask your name, Miss?" he prompted then, figuring he should at least know the name of this very unusual lady he found himself escorting.

Citrine made a humming noise as she led the man whichever way she felt. He was amicable enough that she wasn't concerned and she knew that despite his bulk she had the upperhand.

"What brings you to DC?" She asked, titling her head just enough that long wisps of green fell across her shoulder when she looked up at him.

When he asked for her name, as she pointedly hadn't offered it, she debated her choices, tongue pressing against her molars. "Citrine," she told him, her smile bright and sharp.

"I think I like you Gan, which means I'm considering giving you an offer you don't want to refuse~"

"Opportunity," he replied simply. "Though I do very much enjoy history, and the great steppes, there was...not much for me. I got an opportunity to study in America, so I did. And then some time later, an opportunity to teach here, so I took that, too." He gave a slightly exaggerated shrug at that. "Of course, they neglect to fully make clear just how expensive everything is here, so," he gestured toward where they'd left. "I make do."

"Citrine," he echoed thoughtfully. "Named for a gemstone, if I'm not mistaken? A unique name, to be sure." That it might be a codename did not, apparently, occur to him at that moment.

At the mention of an offer, he quirked a brow for just a moment and gave a small, quizzical smile. "And what sort of offer are we talking about, Miss Citrine?" Truthfully, he had no idea where this was going, but there was no point in reacting too strongly.

She was only half listening, lost in her own thoughts about the things she was about to do-- or whom she was going to call to do the things she wanted to do but lacked the ability to do so.

"Adventure," she replied airily. Detaching herself for a moment she seemed to pluck a pen out of nowhere. It pulled open into a tablet and she was scrolling through something before she found the contact she wanted.

"Epiiiii~ I need your help, babe." Once he picked up her call, she knew he'd come as soon as she asked. "Adventure needs a little help, I can do a lot, but not everything alone."

"Adventure," he repeated, frowning at her. Where did that pen come from? he wondered. And it was a tablet, too? Unusual technology. "I don't think I've ever seen a device like that one before," he observed. He considered asking more about it for a brief moment, but decided that was less important for the moment.

"And what sort of...adventure requires calling in a friend?" He could think of several, but, truthfully, he was mildly intrigued by where this was going...this wasn't looking like an odd mugging to him, but, who knew? If he lived, it'd be at least an interesting story.

Of course, if someone did try to kill him (there were stories about this town, after all), he wouldn't give up without a fight. And that thought was, perhaps, ever so slightly betrayed by the continued slight tenseness to his stance, like he was ready to react to...well. Something threatening.
