Research was a tedious thing that Labyrinthite almost thought was better suited for subordinates, but the mission was something he did not want to fail in and as a result it meant that the menial work was something he undertook himself. Each recruit was going to be handpicked by him, the more control he extorted the better.

There were eternals and generals on his list of people he wanted to approach, to extend an offer but for the most part, he was choosing people who were ranked beneath him. While he doubted anyone would question his orders given that he was handpicked for the mission by the Queen herself, Labyrinthite prefered to have agents whom he could mold.

Or worst case, use as cannon fodder if it became necessary.

The man he'd called to meet him in one of the castle's offices showed extensive promise and he could see why the man might've been recruited into the fold. As a result, he summoned him.

If there was one thing that Dravite would never truly get use to, it was being teleported around by another agent. Up until now Stibnite had been the one responsible for assign, and in turn had been the only one, outside her husband Leucite, to call upon him for certain tasks or missions.

He would be lying if he didn’t admit that he found it odd when General Labyrinthite asked to speak with him. Granted his background information was readily available in the database, he just partially expected the orders, or request, would have come through the General he had been assigned to. Either way, he supposed this was perhaps another facet to the Negaverse hierarchy he would have to get use to.

“Sir!” Dravite stood at attention and saluted the General in the same manner he would have if he was addressing his CO back on base. Some people, he found, thought the gesture was too formal or odd; but in his defense it was a hard habit to break. "You wished to speak with me?"

Labyrinthite had been around longer than most, that had survived anyway, despite his youth and had a tendency to do things his way. Sometimes, that meant that he didn't adhere to the 'newer' way of things and he thought nothing of it when he'd summoned the lieutenant.

The man appeared to be respectful, replying with immediate compliance despite the suddenness of the summons.

Knowing of the man's military background he said, "at ease, lieutenant." Then, he gestured to the chair across from him. "Sit." It was clear from the way he handled himself that Labyrinthite was a man used to being listened to.

"I have been looking into your file, Lieutenant Dravite," he explained, gesturing to the open file opened on the tablet's interface. "You have an impressive background even if your tenure within the Negaverse is minor."

Dravite relaxed his stance per Labyrinthite’s orders. “Thank you Sir,” he replied before taking a seat as instructed.

“Is there something, in particular, I can assist you with?” Having never actually seen what exactly what the General who had recruited him put into his file, he couldn’t help but feel somewhat curious as to what the man before him was searching for and for what purpose.

To his knowledge, Stibnite wasn’t one to go around boasting about his background or history to just anyone; with the exception of her husband of course. Given that her name had not been mentioned as a referral, Dravite had to assume she had no idea he was here.

There was a closed mouth smile offered towards the lieutenant that didn't reach his eyes.

"Your background is something that I," he paused, as if he were carefully selecting his words, "believe would come in handy." Labyrinthite wet his lips before he tapped a few thing on the open screen and pulled out some images of a city that wasn't terrible recognizable but all the same.

"Local agents have been compromised, I'm assembling a team to accompany me to investigate and neutralize threats." There wasn't too much else for him to explain, proper debriefing would happen once they'd arrived overseas.

"I want you to come." Want was a generous word when it was more of an expectation.

“When do we leave?” Dravite’ response was prompt but not without follow up questions of his own.

“On that same note, how long do you expect this mission to last and how many are you anticipating bringing along?” If he was searching through profiles for specific qualifications it left room to reason that General Labyrinthite may be looking to run something of a tight ship for a quick in and out reconnaissance.

"End of the week," Labyrinthite answered, whiskey eyes watching to see how the man would react to things.

"The mission encompasses an entire city, not unlike the size of Destiny City. While my preference is a more intimate mission, there's so much that needs to be explored and looked into so I am taking the number of recruits that suit my needs or fall into my expectations."

And some that didn't because Labyrinthite knew that there would always be casualties.

"At least a month, perhaps longer. It depends on how effective we are. I would plan for an extended leave of absence."

Dravite broke eye contact for a brief moment, his gaze falling down to the scattered items on the General’s desk. It seemed pretty obvious that he wasn’t looking at anything specific, rather the rapid eye movement seemed to indicate that he was in deep thought; planning his course of action for the next few days to make sure he was ready.

Without asking, he knew that he couldn’t tell his girlfriend where he was going or why and so, Dravite needed to be sure that she was taken care of if this mission ran longer than expected or, worst-case scenario, something happened to him.

“Do I need to handle my own travel arrangements or will it be taken care of?” Glacial blue eyes locked with those of molten amber.

There was no reservation or hesitation in his demeanor. Rather, there was an unwavering loyalty to the Negaverse and the mission he was being asked to join.

Labyrinthite appear to pay no heed to the way Dravite chose to process information or what he might be looking at. The desk was relatively bare, the tablet already closed and all information lacking.

If he was searching for something, there'd be little to find.

"Travel arrangements have been cared for, you only need to concern yourself with what you consider worth bringing along and what measures you must take to set up your affairs." The general was straight to the point, for the most part.

"Any further questions?"

"No Sir, not at this time." Perhaps more questions might arise once everyone was properly debriefed and the logistics of this mission were fully explained. But for now, he was content on what he had been given.

"Just let me know when you have a firm date and time planned and I will make sure to be there." Dravite rose from his seat and extended a hand out towards the General.

He just hoped that Labyrinthite was a more competent leader than some of the other officers he had met the last time he was assigned a mission in the Rift.

A thin, almost smile graced Labyrinthite's lips as he watched Dravite respond with formality and respect. Good, he liked both of those things in a subordinate.

Dravite was not his, but would be for the mission and he needed agents like him.

"You'll receive more information shortly. You're dismissed." He waved a hand to indicate the man was free to leave and then went right back into his mission plans.
