Nix would claim to anyone who asked that he did not "patrol." He thought the idea...unwise without a much bigger organization than a few friends who talked about stuff.
But.
He still went out all the time, training, racing, teaching...and if he happened to notice something worth investigating along the way? Well. Time to intervene.
And it happened that while Nix was out for a Sunday "stroll" (which really involved leaping across rooftops), he happened to notice the unmistakable aura of chaos nearish the direction he was headed. It was, so far, his best time on this little course he'd set for himself, but duty calls and all that, so he diverted that way.
He kept to the rooftops, hoping to literally get the drop on whatever he came across, and give him a moment to assess the situation, to find the best way to lick his foes.

Patrolling was part of an agent's life, as far as Caminite was concerned. Meeting his quota was fairly important, after all, so he patrolled when life allowed for it. Which was often enough; basically whenever Seren wasn't staying over at his place or he didn't have work. Preferably both, but he still had a job to do so he couldn't be too picky all the time. Some day were just more exhausting than others, and he'd survived worse so it was a doable thing.
Tonight had so far been a very productive night for him. He'd already met his quota and was now just going for a personal best as far as how much energy he managed to collect in one night, so he was going at a leisurely pace through the alleys, draining anyone he happened upon. He had just finished with his latest "volunteer" when he sensed an aura start to come closer at an almost alarming speed.
He wasn't that worried, not really. Not because he was arrogant or overly confident in his abilities; he just wasn't busy doing things so he wasn't being interrupted. In fact, his night had just gotten more productive: meet energy quota, beat some Order tool into the ground.
The lieutenant heaved a sigh and took a seat on a stack of pallets nearby, toeing at the unconscious body on the ground as waited for whoever it was to get closer.
"Do us both a favor and don't be shy?" he called when he felt the aura was close enough that he could be heard. "Either come down to say hi or I'll come up to do the same. Cat and mouse isn't my kinda game, so."

Nix peered down into the alley. Definitely a negaverser down there and... He blinked. Yup, knew he was up here.
"If you insist~!" he called back in an almost sing-song way and...took a leap off the building, dropping straight down at the agent below.
He didn't really expect to land on the guy...it wouldn't really be that hard to get out of the way. What ever the case, as he dropped, he actually stuck out his tongue, causing his much larger, ethereal one to shoot down in the direction of his drop, and the force of it slowed him down juust enough to not hurt himself as he landed with a thud.
A hero's 3 point landing...except magic tongue instead of fist. And it had disappeared almost before one could properly identify what it was.
He had a determined grin on his face as he looked up.

He smirked at the response, though the closer he got the more Carminite realized that he was going to be overpowered in this fight. He had his eyes to the sky, watching as a body started coming down at him. A body...
And a...an ethereal something he couldn't quite place.
"Aw, what the ********..." he muttered. Thankfully he was able to dodge because...well, it wasn't hard to dodge something that was far enough away that he had enough time to react properly. When the senshi--definitely looked like a senshi--landed he sort of curled his lip. "Do I even wanna know what you used to break that fall?" he asked, taking a few steps back to put some distance between them before he got into some kind of a fighting stance. Not that he expected an even fist fight this time around, not if this guy could fling around magic something-or-other attacks, but it wasn't like he had a choice on the matter.
He really had to work on getting a promotion soon.

Nix laughed at the lieutenant--he couldn't help it. Reactions to his tongue were always fun. But down to business. "Maybe not," he admitted, and eyed the unconscious figure on the ground briefly. He couldn't tell instantly exactly what state they were in, and that brought to mind...various moments in the past.
"But too bad!" he declared, and lunged forward at the man, his real tongue briefly sticking out, quickly followed by a much bigger tongue swinging for a big, wet, and definitely uncomfortable lick--if he landed it, it'd be plenty to slide across the man's chest and face before disappearing again.
Big Tongue power (poison lick)
Nix mimes the action of using his tongue, creating a large ethereal frog tongue. This tongue can either shoot a straight line 15 feet away striking with the force of a hard punch which can leave a bruise if the target player desires, or take the form of a large licking tongue which can make contact with something not more than 2 feet away. In both cases, Nix may choose to have the tongue be either sticky or poisonous. If it is sticky, the strength of his tongue is such that whatever he grabs, the smaller of the two objects (Nix and his target) will get pulled as his tongue retracts. If it is poisonous and hits an organic target they will suffer the effects of rapid poisoning (which can include dizziness, fatigue, nausea and vomiting) for thirty seconds.
As soon as the tongue is retracted, it disappears. The tongue may be used three more times.

He wasn't sure if the initial reply was anything to worry about, but when the other finally moved to attack his expression went full on grossed out and he did his best to dodge. There were disadvantages to being marginally weaker than the enemy, though, and in this case he was just a bit slower than him.
The tongue hit his arm as opposed to his chest as he sidestepped once more, and almost as soon as it scraped by his head started pounding, his body got a bit heavier...and his stomach churned just a little bit. He staggered a few steps away but tried his best to focus and throw a two-punch combo aimed for the senshi's side.
"You were right, I didn't wanna know," he said through gritted teeth.

Nix moved to avoid the punches, although admittedly he didn't try very hard...and took both hits almost exactly where the lieutenant had been going for, prompting a small "oof" from him.
"Feeling a bit...out of it, hmm?" he asked, as he shifted positions. "A bit...green?" Without waiting for an answer, he swung a froggy foot up and out to try and land a kick on his slightly woozy looking foe.
All his powered moving practice, and martial arts practice, was such a good idea, Nix couldn't help but think in these sorts of situations.

He didn't feel like he had the luxury to feel any kind of accomplishment in hitting his mark, all things considered. If he stopped to pat himself on the back he probably would have fallen over given how dizzy he was. He mentally cursed whatever magic it was that caused this and, while scowling all the while, did his best to block the kick...
To marginal success. His balance was thrown with the impact, and with how woozy he truly felt he stumbled to the ground. "******** sake," he muttered as he sluggishly got to his feet, haphazardly throwing punches to make sure the senshi kept his distance.
He couldn't help but wonder how long these effects were supposed to last. At that rate he was going he'd be KO'd without being able to put up much of a fight at all.

The poison effect wouldn't last long, Nix knew...he could just hit the guy again, but that seemed needlessly cruel. Instead, he figured he'd try something different...quickly, before this lieutenant realized the poison was going away:
He stood back from the punches, and gave a confident grin before saying, "Release the energy you stole from people, and I'll let you go."
Truth be told, there wasn't really much else he could do apart from this or knocking his foe completely senseless. He wasn't a murderer.

Once he was properly up again he squinted at the senshi, a right scowl on his face.
"You really think I'd just say, 'Okay, sure, let me just throw away a whole night's work because you tell me to'?" He huffed and put his fists up again. The headache persisted and his body still felt heavy, but his stomach had calmed down at least. "Nice try, though." He'd already tucked his night's "earnings" safely away, so win or lose he wasn't worried about them.
He waited until he felt steady enough on his feet to lunge forward, fist aimed for the senshi's face. He just...really wasn't the type to back down.

"A guy can hope," Nix replied, sticking his tongue out just a little.
It quickly vanished, though, thanks to a fist flying straight for it! He stepped to the side, and attempted to grab the outstretched arm for a classic 'grab and force down' type maneuver, with one hand going for the wrist and the other the shoulder.
"Oop, feisty!" he declared, regardless of how successful his move was.

By the time his punch missed its target the effects of that gross ethereal tongue of his opponent's were mostly ebbing away and all that was left as evidence of it was a very mild headache. It meant his reaction time was a little better, and when he missed he immediately retracted his fist and instead aimed his elbow at the senshi's face.
"Maybe hope a little harder," he said mid-elbow strike. Hit or miss, he considered taking his chance to maybe escape. He was pushing his limits, he could feel it, and if the senshi decided to use that tongue move again he was very likely screwed.

Nix got clocked even as he backed his head up. It wasn't too great a hit, but still...getting elbowed in the chin was never fun. "Ow! Clearly I should," he responded, backing up again and considering his options.
He had more power than this agent, that much he was sure of, but he did not like the idea of seriously hurting the guy. Life-energy-thief or not.
...So. Tongue again it was! He charged forward again, and stuck his tongue out. The normal one remained just long enough to let his opponent contemplate their life choices. He spread his arms out to tackle, and at the same time he brought back the ethereal, licking tongue...ready to slam into (and poison) his enemy. He figured he'd pin him down, re-steal the energy, and be sufficiently threatening.
Assuming he tackled properly, of course.

He felt a surge of satisfaction when his elbow hit its mark, but knowing he was already running on fumes rather than followed after the senshi when he backed up he stayed put to try and conserve a little bit of energy. Not to mention the guy might have another trick or two up his proverbial sleeve. The lieutenant wasn't planning on getting knocked out in this fight if he could help it.
When Nix charged toward him again Carminite stood his ground, eyes narrowing as he looked for an opportunity to get another good hit in...which turned out to be a mistake. The senshi's ethereal tongue came flying at him seconds into his plan, and before he could dodge Nix and the (disgusting, ethereal or not) licking attack he felt the impact from both the tackle and the tongue...
The two landed with a resounding thud some feet from where Cam had originally been standing. The lieutenant felt another wave of nausea hit him, his head started spinning and the headache came back...and it was like he was at the start of this fight all over again. At the least, he was confident that the energy he collected for the night was safely tucked away in that special pocket of his.
"That's...just really gross," he managed to mutter. Of course, as soon as he said that he dry-heaved as the nausea hit him again.

Nix pinned the Lieutenant down, hands holding arms, and his knees on the guy's stomach. "Okay," he said. "Now. Release the energy you stole, before I have to lick you again." He stuck his real tongue out to punctuate the threat.
He knew enough to be aware of the energy orbs the negaversers, although truth be told, rather literally beating it out of one of them wasn't really something he'd tried before...this just happened to be an excellent opportunity.
