He was... lost. For a while now that summed up much of what he felt. Lost in terms of his purpose, and how comfortable he was, what with the whole fact he was supposed to be able to attack people and kill if told to do so. He might be cruel and and a**, but even he had some limitations.
And he was realizing that if he wanted to have control of his life, in any meaningful way, he'd have to give up on his limits, and give into what was demanded of him. A rather unsettling thing to say the least when you leader was literally a disembodied energy... thing, (as far as he understood it at any rate).
Looking at the sword scabbard he wondered why they bothered with the weapons to be. The message was clear enough to him. Be ready, because as soon as we think you ready, you will be expected to fight and kill. Just like in the military. No actual weapons until you were trained. Problem was Vlad wasn't taking to his training, and honestly? He wanted out.
"-And get my a** bloody killed thats what." He grumbled, stopping mid stride to look out over the city lake.
He wondered morbidly, if they had hidden bodies at the bottom.

Camelot felt a Chaos order not too far from him, once he powered up. His own aura would probably be very clear to whoever it was, though they were not a high rank. He never really considered ranks until he got to the source, and figured out if they wanted to fight him or not. Most of the time, he found himself talking rather than fighting. And that was just fine by him.
Unlike many he knew, even on his own side, he was not very fond of hurting others to get his point across.
He approached the man standing at the edge of the lake, tilting his head curiously and approaching. One generally did not look out to the lake for targets, after all, and there was a pensive air about the stranger that had Camelot curious.
"Are you alright? Not up to trouble, I hope," he said leisurely, noting that he had his weapon summoned already, though it seemed to be more in consideration than for use. Camelot did not summon his own shield, not really thinking it necessary. At the moment, there was no hostility. Unless, of course, this particularly soldier was easily spooked.

Despite the powerful order signature coming closer, and his brain telling him to move, Vlad remained fixed. What was the point in running? He'd just get caught and be forced to fight again, maybe for his life. No, he was just tired. Tired of running, fighting, tired of everything to do with this stupid 'war'. When the energy neared far too close, his shoulders slumped in acquiesce. It was time to fight. Turning at the man's voice, he was surprised to see someone so.. old. But then again, he wasn't a child either. Some on both sides hadn't even left their families. "Trouble has a way of finding me." He answered, tongue feeling heavy and thick in his mouth. "What bout you? If it's all the same I'm not much up for having my arse handed to me."

Camelot tilted his head.
"Well, I've no intention of causing you any trouble, if that makes you feel any better. You look like you've been through the wringer already." Not that he had any physical wounds on him, at least that Camelot could see. No, instead the younger man just looked tired and rather down. Like he could do with someone to talk to, though he might not be the type to open up to an incredibly powerful stranger.
And an enemy, to be technical.
"If you're not hurting anyone, then I have no real reason to hurt you, as I really only raise my shield to protect those that need it. Really, you look like you're someone who could use a little help, though perhaps you're not allowed to think that."
The Negaverse and Chaos could be very cruel to those that serve it, that he knew. He had seen it quite a lot before, mostly with kids being forced to gather energy and hurt people when they did not really feel like it was right. The longer they were exposed to Chaos, though, the less aware of those reservations they became. Chaos itself was Camelot's worst enemy, with it's corrupting nature.
Which was why he tried to talk to anyone that was still willing to listen, and return the conversation in kind.

He was nice, Vald thought, a lot nicer than some. Perhaps it was his age that granted him a measure of understanding the agent mused, to see him and realize that as far as fighting went, the boy but barely a man had no strength to put up a proper resistance. "Bout the rights of it." He said, shrugging. His heavy sigh moved his whole frame, and he mused he looked probably like a very dramatic goth. Annoying. "And no- but yes? I'm supposed to go get energy but what's the bloody point? Feeding off of people to save us? A self sacrificing system to be sure. Not to mention it doesn't even seem to be working." He groused, not looking at the royal knight. "Dunno if bloke like you can help me though- once you're in the thick of it, bit hard to get out yeah?"

"To be honest, I still do not fully understand what the relationship between Chaos and the energy they gather is. I have seen it work wonders on healing an injured agent, I've given my energy to do just that, but as far as saving anyone in the grand scheme of things..."
He shook his head. He was just on the wrong side of the lore to understand what deeper motivations the highest ranks of the Negaverse had in their rigid quotas and demands. He only saw the results, the endless waves of soldiers scouring the streets for victims. Some were much more eager and vicious in their pursuits, not even sparing lives when they only took energy, but he found many who questioned their duties as well.
"It's not as hard as you might think," he offered, "to leave. It depends on what you want to accomplish by 'leaving'. I can't say I know a way to lose your powers completely, but I do know that every Negaverse agent has a Knight inside them, and purification is always an option. It's not something we can force on anyone, of course, not like corruption: it's a choice that only soldiers of Chaos can make. Guys like me, we just help when that choice is made."
He was cautious these days about not following through after a purification. It was not just enough to be given a new start, but to have a support system and a way to actually begin that new life. He felt responsible for helping anyone that needed it, whether they purified or not, but he supposed that was why he got the reputation of being a bit of a Dad.
It wasn't just his bad jokes.

"No one tell ya?" Heck, he was just a lowly office and even he knew. "We're powerin Metallia. Who I guess is some kinda sentient weapon...person? Basically the one in charge and having walked by their doors uh, I'm fine with leaving it at that. Some things you don't stick you nose in." He shooked his head as the tingle of terror ran up his spine. No matter how hard he tried he never got over the feeling that if they had to, they'd feed him to whatever was behind those doors alive. The mention, the notion of purification was promising but- he laughed. "So what, you bring out a fancy sword and knight me? It can't be simple as that because I'm pretty sure my starseed is tainted. Like in a movie- you can't fix something thats broken right?" He smiled, tough it was clearly resigned. "I mean, it's a great dream, but if I did that... I'd have to start all over again. Dunno how you even would do that, much less if you could. No, they keep us caged and make sure we know it."
