The name had been familiar, when he stumbled upon the file. Digging through agents was tedious while looking through the reports on senshi was...lighter. The number within DC was far less, but still impressive.
This one had shown up when he'd sent a casting call for those that wished to seek some more combat oriented training. He remembered the eagerness, how the senshi had looked to him for orders.
A prime candidate with magic that could prove to be terrifying.
So, Labyrinthite summoned the boy again.
Alum would feel the pull and when he arrived, he'd find Labyrinthite sitting in a chair, behind a desk, within the castle with an expectant expression on his face.

Being called by your superior demanded an answer. And in Alum's opinion, that answer should be given as soon as the order was received. Practically running towards the summons, the super senshi beamed when he arrived, practically vibrating with excitement. "Super Sailor Alum of the Abyss Sir! You summoned me?" He tried to not sound too hopeful- but he really failed terribly in that endeavor.

Labyrinthite gave the senshi a once over, something dark curling in his chest that he did his best to ignore. Gesturing to the chair he said, "Sit."
He had pulled up Alum's file on the tablet, which he was looking through, flicking pages while he waited for the overeager boy to follow his instructions.
"I've been going over your file, I remember you from that training session I led a while back." Whiskey gold flicked up to watch him as he approached.
"I've been tasked with assembling a team for a mission overseas, I'm looking for dedicated soldiers to join me."

He sat a bit taller, a bit straighter when he felt eyes on him, smiled wide and eyes blown so full of hope and genuine happiness as being noticed. Practically vibrating in the chair, he was buzzing with excitement and was pink at the general remembering him, (even if from a file and his relish at the training camp). "Thank you sir!" He pipped up, giddy. And then Labyrinthite told him what he had planned and Alum nearly swooned. "CAN I JOIN YOU?" He asked immediately. "Please? I'm dedicated! I promise I'll behave and not get in the way! Just tell me what to do! I swear! I'll be the prefect solider!" A chance to better prove his worth.

Alum's enthusiasm was far greater than he expected and the general's first thought was, how easy it would be to break you. He had almost had that chance, back when he was more reckless and less in control.
But times were different now and Labyrinthite curbed the urge with the thought of, not yet, let him prove what he's worth.
"You are on my list of potentials," he stated, flicking through the file and looking as though he was typing something before the pen was shut and tucked away inside the coat beneath his cloak.
"There's information in your file, but I would prefer to hear it from your mouth." He liked hearing the way people would try to sell themselves to prove they were worth something. "Tell me of your skill set," he ordered.
He wanted to see how much this senshi would give to him.

Had he tried, no doubt once upon a time, Alum would have broken and thanked the general for it. He was blind in his devotion. After all, the negaverse gave him a purpose, a meaning- what could be better than that? "I- I have potential?" He nearly choked on the last word, not thinking anyone would have paid such a nice compliment to him. Swallowing his nerves down, the corrupt hung on every word and when asked. "I make them afraid." He said gleefully. "They get trapped in their own heads, made to know what they fear most. They get to face their own little personal Abyss!" He bounced in his seat. "It makes them easy to hurt, to attack. Then when the spell is gone they remember. That's why it's so good. Because its there, fresh behind their eyes and even after the magic ends it lingers because they're terrified!" His giggling came out. "I can fight to! I haven't killed anyone important yet-" The grin split wide. "But I'm looking forward to changing that sir. Oh! And I can garden really well- I managed to grow a lot of fresh herbs... but thats probably not important."

There was something manic in the way the senshi handled himself, the gleefulness of his responses when it came to what he could do to others. Were he someone else, perhaps he might have been concerned but since he was who he was, Labyrinthite hardly batted an eye.
Some notes were made before he returned his attention back to the boy.
"Magic sounds useful, I would like to see it in action," he stated, tongue sliding across his teeth as he straightened his spine.
"Very well," he began, pausing for effect, "we leave at the end of the week, see to it that you're ready. I don't tolerate failures."
With that he waved his hand at the senshi, indicating he was dismissed. "You may leave."

See him in action? Tilting his head to the side he wasn't sure how he could show the general without using his magic on the man. And that didn't seem like a good way to earn the mercurial man's approval. "I.. supposed I could find someone on the street and use it on them and record it. Oh, I'd be sure to take their starseed after of course!" He nodded, gleeful at the prospect. "And Yes!" He practically shouted, excitement thick. "I promise you sir I won't disappoint!" Standing in a rush he nearly knocked over the chair as he saluted, mouth split wide in manic grin. He might have rushed out, but it was clear that he lacked fear- he only held a plethora of excitement.

Labyrinthite liked those who responded with, how high when he told them to jump. While he was still making a proper decision about Alum, he was content enough to bring him along and test him on the field. If he proved to be a hindrance, he would be sent back to the states or, if he deemed it necessary, the general would handle it himself.
"Of course you won't," he responded with a wave of his hand.
The senshi either understood his expectation or he didn't. They would see how it all played out when the time came. For now, he had more files to comb through and more things to note.
"Dismissed," he said, having gotten all he needed from this meeting. istoleyurvamps you're good boo, fin on my end! <3
