It wasn't often that Chase called for Prissy when he was at work.
This was a special occasion, which was why he'd sent her a text.
[To Prissy: Your presence is required at my office. Be here in the next hour.]
The message was short, gruffer than most of their communications, but to the point. There was no pleasure in this summons, not in the way his girlfriend would have likely hoped, because it was all business. His meeting with their Queen had gone smoothly, to his surprise, and the proposal that had come from it had left a pleasant feeling curling in his chest.
It had been some time since he'd been handed a mission by someone else.
He ran smaller-scale operations where he utilized his wealth and status within the socialite and rich class of the city but this? This was something bigger than himself and something that provided him with the ability to prove that the lessons he'd learned within the Rift had stuck.

When the name 💖💖Bae💖💖 appeared across her iPhone in the middle of the day, Prissy felt her stomach do a small, happy little flip as manicured nails reached out to snatch the device from the other side of the couch.
She'd been lounging the day away, browsing through various magazines she still had delivered to the house while sprawled out inappropriately all over the furniture, her sweet candy prince of a Persian sleeping not too far away. It had been a lazy - almost boring - day, so for Chase to text her meant that things were about to get very interesti---
Oh.
Her nose wrinkled as she reread the formal text.
He was being bossy... well, bossier than normal at least. It was still suspicious, being asked to come to his office (as opposed to her usual drop-in-when-she's-bored-and-wanting-attention stunts) so her curiosity was spiked but the fact he was being demanding meant it was anything but to give her attention. Or presents.
Hmph.
So, exactly forty-five minutes and thirty-seven seconds later, pink heels found their way outside of Chase Black's office, Prissy not paying the secretary any mind before announcing herself by means of opening the boss's door open, sans knocking, and stepping into the room. She'd managed to find a half decent dress in the very limited time frame he'd given her, Priscilla feeling exceptionally pretty considering the time clock she was working with.
Flipping her hair, eyes searched to find the man who'd summoned her.
"You required me, sir?"

Having resumed working, Priscilla would find Chase looking down at the tablet open on his desk. One finger pressed against the screen as she scrolled though various files, flicking left or right here and there. Occasionally, he would drag a file across the screen and into a folder, where it made a copy for him to re-review later as he compiled his notes.
Her entrance earned his attention, but not in the way she'd likely want. Whiskey eyes flicked up, looked at her for a moment before he gestured flippantly at the chair across from him.
"Lock the door behind you."
Most of the people who worked in the building were agents or would-be agents with enough time but he preferred to keep most of his business private, especially regarding the negaverse.
The tablet was shut, returned to it's pen form that he tucked into the breast pocket of his suit jacket.
"You look nice."

Eyebrows rose as he said nothing at first, simply gesturing like she was some simpleminded dolt who needed instructions on what to do next. Worst, he was barking orders at her - her - when he had a perfectly capable secretary sitting outside who could stop anyone (excluding herself, of course) from coming in and interrupting them.
Still, she did as she was told, locking the door with a quick flip of the latch and then strolled her way towards the chair, taking her time getting there and then getting comfortable within it, making a point to drag it out, moment by moment.
He was treating her like some sort of employee and if Chase Samuel Black thought he was going to treat the prettiest woman to walk into his life like a mere employee, he wo---oh.
The compliment immediately perked up her souring mood, one leg rising to cross over the other as her hands found their way onto her knee. Sure, it was a little brief but a compliment was still a compliment and he didn't dole them out nearly as often as she'd like, so Prissy counted it as a win in her book.
"I have to look my best when coming to see my favorite man~"
Her voice was a purr, though the topic of the hour was still yet to be discussed. "What's all this seriousness about, darling?"

Chase wore no smile as he watched her take her sweet time sashaying across his spacious office. They'd been together long enough for him to know what she was doing and it was with great practice that he didn't bark an order at her.
"This is a matter of business, not pleasure, Priscilla," he told her, voice low when he set his elbows on the desk and leaned forward. "In a few weeks, I'll be going overseas for business." The way he said it made it clear that he wasn't talking about Argent Industries. "This venture could be long lasting."
Lips pursed together before he continued. "The queen has specifically tasked me with this assignment and it is doubly important that I succeed with high results."
The longer he spoke the more it sounded like he was going to leave her behind.
"To be successful..." he trailed off, looking as though he was mulling over his thoughts. "You'll need to come. With the risk of certain tendencies slipping out, I need someone I can trust to reign them in."

When he used her entire first name and leaned forward, Prissy knew he was in a particularly ornery mood. Her leg stayed poised on top of the other but the hands on her knee moved down, folding themselves in her lap as he spoke.
He was leaving? Again?
It didn't take a genius to know he was talking about his other career, one that involved a scythe and a taste for senshi blood. The idea that he'd be gone, though, and that it was another "long lasting" endeavor meant....
Was she going to have to be left alone for an entire year, again?
Maybe even more?
Her heart pulled itself up from the pits of her stomach, though, when he implied that she'd have to tag along with him on this mission. Her emotions gave themselves away as relief washed over her flawless features.
Straightening herself up in her chair and leveling her shoulders out, she nodded her head and did her best to suppress the smile that wanted to curl up on the sides of her mouth. He needed her. He trusted her.
"Of course. Anything for you, sir."

Chase's gaze never wavered, watching Prissy's expression carefully. This was different than his other time 'away', the one where he still hadn't divulged anything about despite the time that had passed and the repercussions that had followed him.
This time he was talking about it, because he had the ability to. It was a reward, in his eyes, instead of a punishment that happened too quickly to do anything about. He had a chance to rise up.
It was a shot he couldn't give up and while he didn't expect anyone else to understand why he'd found such a strong foundation with his heels in Metallia's possessive grip, Chase knew that Prissy understood where his priorities lay first and foremost.
Always.
"That's my girl," he replied, the seriousness of his expression slipping away to be replaced by that devilish smirk of his. "Zircon will also be joining us," he informed her, brows lifting to give her a look.
He hadn't asked Suri yet, but was confident that she'd comply and assist. After all he needed his right and left hands.
"I expect you to be on your best behavior. It's not just the pack. I'll be recruiting outside of it and it is doubly important that we make the right impression."

She looked absolutely elated to hear the praise, followed by the charming smirk that always managed to make her stomach do a little flip, every time he gave it. The next phrased that followed, however, completely dashed her good mood.
Prissy's mouth opened to immediately smart off but Chase looked already prepared to reprimand her for whining, his perfectly styled brows arched as if to dare her to argue and see what comes of it.
Arms rose to cross her chest and she pursed her lips for a moment, rose colored eyes staring down at her lap for a moment before she finally huffed, "As long as she behaves, we won't have any problems."
Hmph.
So much for being his right-hand woman on this super important special mission.

The smirk slipped, seriousness falling across his handsome features again to put Prissy in her place with a single look. She clearly understood because the whining never game outside of a slight huff.
"She knows my expectations," he stated. After last time, Chase had made sure that Suri understood how disappointing the behavior of both women had been.
"Stop pouting," he instructed, pushing his chair back so he could round his desk. Standing before her, fingers gripped her chin to tilt it upward. "I told you first."
That meant something.
He leaned in to press his lips against hers and then he pulled back, letting go after something terribly chaste.

As soon as he ordered her to stop, her bottom lip slipped inward and Prissy forced her eyebrows to unfurrow. She would have to lament this terrible tragedy with her handsome candy prince when she made her way back home, someone who would actually listen to her and ----
Eyes lit up as strong fingers took hold of her chin. It wasn't a loving gesture, it was one of someone handling their possession but the words leaving his mouth brought another feeling of elation before he dipped down to take a kiss from his high maintenance, easily placated girlfriend.
It wasn't nearly as passionate as she'd preferred but considering how consumed he seemed to be about this mission nonsense...
Well, she was going to take what she could get.
"Thank you," she murmured quietly, rising from the chair as pink eyes dared to stare back into the whiskey ones that hadn't left her. "I should... probably start packing."

He kept his grip on her chin for a moment longer, even after he pulled away. The pad of his thumb ghosted across her cheek before he let go and stepped back. One last lingering look was given to his girlfriend before he turned his back on her and returned to his chair.
"Yes," he agreed, "you are dismissed."
The tablet was fished out again, pen pulled apart so he could go back to reviewing files. Later, if she was good, he'd show her his appreciation, but for now, he had more work to do.
