Derrick smiled at her. It had been a short time, but he realized how nice it was to have someone looking forward to him coming home, even if he was the first one back at times. He sighed and kissed her back.
"More crowded than I wanted it to be, but at least I got what we needed." He didn't like crowds or the cold, and both of them at once had made him practically race home so he could get away from both of those things.
He was about to say something about her helping him to unpack but realized that it didn't really matter how he presented it to her. Well, he certainly didn't want to do it while they were fighting, but he didn't believe she would mind if she just happened to see it. Still, he made sure to grab the flower before she could see it and hide it in the bag he would unpack so that he could give it to her. After all, he wanted to be a bit romantic with it.
"Great, thank you." He said glad that this would just get done faster so that he could get warmer more quickly. He only just opened the fridge to start putting the refrigereted items in it and after the first cup of yogurt was put in, he accidentally brushed his hand against something and looked to see what it was. And when he did see it, he started to laugh.
"Key! No way!" He said, grabbing the vase and putting it on the kitchen island.
"Great minds think alike don't they?" He said as he took out the rose that he had gotten her and put it in the vase too.
"Though you went a bit more out, with the vase and all. But thanks Key. I love it." He said, turning around to her and kissing her on the cheek. He would have gone farther, but there were perishables that needed to be put away.
