Mechanical Engineering - What's that? How's it made? Maverick has a special passion for the way things tick and run, and is fascinated by mechanical gears and wires and everything leading up to the digital age. He's especially fond of flying machines and airplanes, but since no one has been so generous as to offer him one for observation, he has to sate himself by watching a bunch of 'How It's Made' style documentaries.
Rube-Goldberg Machines - Another mechanical fascination that he mostly sates with youtube tutorials until he gets thumbs, Maverick loves the idea of putting together fantastical machines to do simple and mundane tasks. Left to his own devices he will make little trinkets out of garbage and office supplies, but if he can get someone with thumbs to collaborate with him then he can start thinking with planks and rope to make really goofy monstrosities. He also likes legos, but thinks they taste bad and are otherwise hard to maneuver with paws.
Rock/Country Music - He's a distinguished cat with distinguished tastes, if you define 'distinguished' by turning on the local rock oldies radio station. He likes the leather jacket 'born to be wild' aesthetic and the devil-may-care attitude, and when Suri's at work or off 'saving the day' he's taken to using her vinyl player to rock out at maximum volume.
Virtues:
Curious - What's that? How's it work? Can he touch it? What does it do? Maverick has an insatiable drive to learn, and he always wants to try new things and experiences. He's highly motivated by solving the unknown, and by simply asking the right questions can be spurred to action, be it a building project or an investigation. While he's on the hunt for answers, his focus is almost completely one-track and his work ethic is strong.
Faithful - Maverick doesn't like many people, this is true--but the ones he cares for are his lifeblood, his family, his ride-or-die crew. Suri will always come first and he makes no pretense about where the chips would fall if he was asked to choose, but if he makes a promise he intends to keep it and if he says someone's okay then he's willing to die for them.
Patient - Maverick is playing the long game--he may not get that information now, or that string he needs, but he understands that sometimes you have to be willing to wait to get the results that you need. Maverick very rarely gets riled up by a process taking longer than planned, or needing more pieces, or a person needing a little more encouragement--his eyes are on the horizon, and he's always looking at the bigger picture.
Flaws:
Critical - Sometimes the truth hurts and sometimes people use the truth to hurt--Maverick is of the latter camp. Don't ask if that dress makes her look fat unless she's ready to hear that yes, it does, and furthermore that cut is unflattering even if it fits, and why would she pick that color when it looks terrible on her? Maverick is a mau of many opinions, and given an inch he will take a mile to express them all, even if they're not constructive or helpful in any way.
Jealous - Maverick makes little effort to hide that he wants things, and when other people have the things that he wants he makes little effort to pretend that they aren't somehow terrible people for depriving him of his needs. It's in his nature to want what other people have, and he's quick to resent the joy in other people's lives if it isn't something easily obtainable himself. At his worst, he'll start to sabotage what he perceives as an attack against him (this plant is receiving the attention he is not, so it must die), or his irrational behavior will broadcast his wants and make him emotionally manipulable by those who would seek to use him.
Sheltered - Maverick is a big cat and will tell you that he's tough as nails, but the fact of the matter is that he's only been outside once and it was the most stressful three hours of his life. He's got some pretty big misconceptions about the world outside of Suri's apartment, and can't survive long without someone seeing to his every need for at least some hours of the day. Sometimes this makes him naive to a fault, and sometimes he's irrationally upset because he's never seen a water hose what is this witchcraft device put it away. For all that he might puff himself up, he's genuinely lost without the support of his caretaker.

Hey Ami, congrats on getting Mav!!
First off, the doodle was a delightful addition to his profile, thank you for that laugh!
Everything looks good to me and I'm excited for him to get his fingers so he can start making some "proper" machinery and inventions. Hopefully having paws won't stop him from causing some healthy amounts of mischief though wink
