Noah has spent the previous night unable to sleep. He had struggled for a while, but he tried to keep it quiet. Dea was two months pregnant and he didn’t want anything to trouble her or the baby. He knew at some point stress could become dangerous for their unborn child and he wanted to make sure he wasn’t the cause of that stress. There was nothing the matter, anyway.
He was working on vows. He wanted to take Dea to the lake, under the same willow tree he’d proposed to her and do it again. How did he come up with the perfect words? Even after all the years of knowing Dea, he didn’t know what to say.
They were married. He knew she remembered the day he proposed to her. He knew she remembered their wedding. But hell. It didn’t feel real. It’d been so long ago and he’d been through so much since then, he needed this. He needed to ensure Dea knew how he felt about her. But even more than thT, he needed to make sure nothing ever got in the way of their happily ever after.
He still hasn’t found the perfect words when he went to Dea. She was reading. He gently pulled the book from her hands and set it aside, laid open to whereshed been reading. “Come with me,” he said.

Deanna was curled up in her favorite chair, reading one of her favorite fantasy series, when she found her book lifted out of her hands. She gave her husband a questioning look, when she found out he was the culprit. She knew he had tossed and turned the previous night, hard to miss when you were up to go to the bathroom more than once. Though, if this had something to do with that, she wasn't sure.
"Come where?"she asked.

“It’s a surprise,” Noah said, then. He offered her his hand. He couldn’t tell her where they were going, not yet. It never seemed far, but it was too far for either of them to walk. Not without Paian getting involved and telling them they couldn’t go.
“We’ll go in the car. Get some snacks and drive a bit.” He kissed her cheek. “It’ll be fun!”

"Does Paian know?"she questioned, giving him a pointed look. She knew her husband had a tendency to try to sneak around, like her Pokemon did not know things. She knew better, she had been with many of them for a long time, since she was a child. Paian was one of those, he had been with her since she was little, a gift from her father.

"Of course. But he wasn't particularly happy about it so let's hurry before he decides to stop us." Noah's words were playful but his expression had become serious. He had no intention of allowing anyone to stop him.
"It'll be fine," he added. "Don't tell them psychically, either. This is for me and you. I don't want them to stop us."

"If something comes up, they need to know. Does Paian know where we will be?"she asked. She liked making sure someone would know, just in case she had a flare up or something. She tried to always be prepared, knowing her disease was unpredictable sometimes.

"He knows." Noah frowned slightly, it seemed like he hadn't wanted to share that information. Paian knew, of course, because he'd been there at the original wedding. He'd wanted to renew their vows where they'd made them. "Nothing will come up, love," he added. He knew she worried, but he would be with her. Her disease was unpredictable and sometimes they had to prepare for the unexpected.
He thought he'd prepared. Today would be perfect.
"Today is going to be good. Don't worry."

"Alright, I am glad to hear that he knows, even if you didn't want him to. Surprises are fine, love, but someone should always be in the know of what is going on. It isn't like he is going to disturb us, he will just be ready, if something happens. I hope everything goes fine, but I can't help worrying,"she spoke.

"I think he likes to disturb us," Noah argued, playfully. He knew she was right, her condition was unpredictable. But he didn't like that she was right. "Nothing will happen," he insisted. "We're going to have a lovely day to ourselves." In the sun, by the lake, under a willow tree. It would be perfect.

"No, he only does so when he thinks he has to interrupt something. As for anything going wrong, I do hope you are right, I don't want anything to happen. However, it is good to be prepared, in case it does happen. I am eager to see what you have up your sleeve,"she admitted.

"He didn't let me go anywhere for months!" he complained. "Every time I tried, he got in the way." He kissed her cheek. "Let's go, then," he said. He took her hand and squeezed it.
She'd be happy once they finally got there!

"He was making sure you didn't overdo it, love. You know he does things because he cares, not because he wants to make anyone miserable. And alright, lead the way,"she told him.

"He made me pretty miserable," Noah muttered. He led Dea to their car and opened the door for her. "Milady," he said, with a flourish. He waited for her to get in before he climbed into the driver's seat. "We're about to have an adventure," he said.

"Honey, that is because you have an aversion to being cooped up for too long. He knew you would say anything you could to get out before you were ready,"she reminded. When they got to the car, she smiled as he opened the door for her. She did a little curtsy, before sliding into the car. She buckled herself in, still wondering where they were going.

He knew he had an aversion to staying in one place after being caged for so long. It had driven him crazy and given him itchy feet. "He was probably right," he admitted.
He inserted the key and started the car. "See if you find anything familiar about where we're going," he said. He began to drive. It wasn't a straight route, but it wasn't a rough one. The road led them beneath tree branches that formed a tunnel.
