Chase was not a man who subscribed to the commercialization of holidays typically. He was generous, to a point, and often preferred to lavish those in his circle with gifts during more personal, even intimate, moments. Still, he participated in some of the traditional gift giving holidays, such as Christmas and occasionally sent things for people's birthdays, but there was one particular commercial holiday he could never skip.
Valentine's Day.
February 14th was not only the world's chosen day to declare love, but it was his girlfriend's birthday, and, coincidentally, their three year anniversary.
Last year they'd held a gala, in both Prissy and his late mother's honor and while it was tempting to run a sequel, Chase had decided that this year was the year he was simply going to focus on Priscilla. They'd gone to Europe for his birthday the year before and while he didn't know how to top that exactly, he knew that his girlfriend was a pampered princess and at the very least expected pampering on her birthday.
So, he'd taken the day 'off' -- all of his business appointments had been canceled or rescheduled and his phone was effectively off -- and barring a sudden summons from a General-Sovereign or the Queen, his time and attention was for his girlfriend.
Whom he proceeded to wake up with kisses along her neck when he pulled her frame against his.

For twenty years, Priscilla Stratford had grown accustomed to being showered with presents, money and an absence of anyone and everyone she ever cared about. With Daddy being the busy businessman that he was, it had become almost tradition to wake up to finding a card left by one of the maids in her room, nestled up against an oversized stuffed animal or whatever ridiculously expensive cluster of presents Maxwell Stratford had paid the live-in staff to accumulate for his only daughter's special day.
From twenty-one onward, however, she had the pleasure of having most of her birthdays spent with another living, breathing human being that actually wanted to spend time with her.
This morning was no exception and was, in her opinion, a delightful way to be woken up.
"Mmmm."
Pink curls tumbled across the pillow as she shifted, a happy little sigh escaping lips that still had a lingering taste of the cherry flavored lip gloss she'd applied the evening before.
Stretching out like the pampered kitten she was, Prissy's mouth curled up into a wicked little grin as her boyfriend tugged her closer. She knew he was spoiling her - at this time every day, he was already up and dressed for work, if not already at the coffee shop or his fancy new office. Whenever she got around to waking up every morning, his side of the bed was inevitably always empty, leaving her to lounge and laze around at her own leisure.
If there was one thing Chase Black was, it was productive and her determined, attractive bed partner typically got more done in the first few hours of his day than most did in an entire day --- Prissy included.
Snuggling closer, arms rose up until her hands were toying with his, fingers threading with fingers while hips shimmied, pushing herself even closer.
"Morning, handsome~"

"Morning Princess," Chase mumbled, hand sliding across her belly as he pulled her against him. His lips moved from her neck to the underside of his jaw before he was shifting, moving to bracket her beneath his arms before he kissed her. "Happy birthday," he said with another kiss, because he knew that she expected to hear such. "And anniversary."
He pulled away, reaching across the bed until he grabbed the box sitting on the bedside table. It was a small thing, too big to be a ring, but too small to be a necklace, and when she'd open it she'd find a set of pink diamond earrings that dangled.
They matched the other gifts he'd be giving her later.
Prissy was easy to placate, even with his limited range of emotion. As long as it seemed like he was doting.
"The whole day is yours," he stated.

For a moment she held her breath, rose colored eyes watching as the box traveled from his nightstand over to her. Hands were almost hesitant in taking it, perfectly manicured fingernails tentatively opening the designer box, the hinge making a soft, almost inaudible sound as it was pried open.
If she was disappointed in any way with what she found, she hid it well as her mouth blossomed out into a bright, happy smile.
"They're gorgeous, Chase. Thank you."
Leaning forward, she stole an additional kiss before raising up completely as she shifted her way towards the side of the large bed. Hands were already working to slip the earrings out from their box, nimble fingers fastening them to her ears without the assistance of a mirror.
"An entire day with you, Mr. Black?" Her voice held a teasing tone to it, though it was clear that Prissy was very pleased with that present alone. "I'm honored."
Once the earrings were put in place, she set the box on her nightstand and moved towards the large dresser mirror, immediately flocking to her reflection to admire the expensive new jewelry. He knew her color well (though it was fairly obvious by this stage of the game) and it certainly would go well with the necklace he'd given her prior -- a perfect set for an anniversary dinner, no less.
"And what if I want to spend it right here?"
Her head turned, gaze fixated on the handsome man still lounging in bed. She knew he wouldn't tell her no and there was some amusement in knowing that little fact. "Although I have an idea or two, opportunities for you to show me off."
After all, she'd had an entire year to plan this very day out.

Chase shifted, opting to sit up and press his back against a combination of pillows he moved and the cool wood of the headboard. He watched Prissy dully as she fixed the earrings to her ears, barely paying attention to what she was doing. There was a restless itch beneath his skin, because it was very rare for him to still be lounging in bed when there was so much to do.
But one day spent doing whatever Prissy felt like wouldn't do much, if any, damage. He could deal. Chase owed it to her, after all, considering her long-term devotion to her even during his absence. For all her faults, his girlfriend was someone he could rely on when he needed to.
And...considering the side effects of his absence, she was someone he could rely upon to handle senshi-related things or, at the very least, knew to keep him in check in case his control slipped.
It hadn't, in a while, but there was always that very real possibility.
"If we stay in bed all day, how will you get to show off all the things I've gotten for you?"

Naked feet glided across the carpet as she sauntered her way back to the bed, eyes never leaving his form. There were battle marks etched across his skin, each one a visible record of a tale ending with his inevitable survival, as he was sitting contently (or rather, semi-contently) upon the bed. There was only one she knew better than to touch - a mistake she'd made only once.
Never again.
"You're right, as always," she conceded as she climbed up onto the comforter. Soft, expensive material sank beneath her weight as she playfully crawled forward until she'd made her home in his lap, legs positioned on either side of him.
Curious fingers drew idle patterns on his chest, following the paths of the various scars he bore. She made a point to toss her hair behind her shoulder to show off her new pretty baubles for him to see, though Prissy was fairly certain Chase's interest in the diamonds were about on par with her interest in his business affairs.
"But maybe we can stay in bed for just a little while longer?"
Her bottom lip stuck out.
"Please?"

Dark brows lifted as his girlfriend crawled across the bed, settling only when her knees were pressed against either side of his thighs. Warm hands settled on her thighs and he pressed his thumbs into her soft skin. "A little longer," he agreed, because it was her day and he was going to (mostly) allow her to enjoy it how she prefered.
His hands slid upward until he'd grabbed ahold of her hips so that he could tug her forward when he leaned forward.
"What princess wants, she gets today," Chase mumbled, pressing his mouth against hers before he shifted their positions on the bed and once again loomed above her.
And they'd stay a while longer in bed, just like she wanted, but there was no resting involved.
