Valentine’s Day fell on the same day as her glorious, one-of-a-kind, unmissable birthday.
This year she was turning twenty-four, precisely one year away from being halfway to the dreaded thirty.
Sure, her half brothers were all well over thirty at this point, all with their own pretty little lives and wives and children. It was an odd thought, her being an auntie, but she dismissed it as quickly as it came across her thoughts. Every once in a while she’d receive cards and presents from her nieces and nephews on top of letters (and gifts) from her brothers but Prissy could hardly remember their names, much less their birthdays, when it came to sending off cards and whatnot.
That was the job of kept women who had settled down. She was far from that point… right?
No, she wasn’t going to think about how getting older meant she was reaching the point where she’d have to question whether or not she’d accomplished anything with her life. Daddy was still around and Chase was there to keep her pampered - she’d worry about all of that next birthday.
On her way out of the mall, hands full of bags filled with various outfits she planned to wear for her birthday week, she spotted a little stand surrounded by a gaggle of girls. Immediately curious, she hurried over, bags rustling, to get a better look.
Flowers?
Hm. They seemed to be some sort of fundraiser for some school or another - Prissy didn’t really pay much attention to who it was for, just that there was a particularly vibrant pink flower that caught her attention above the rest.
Maybe… she’d buy a flower or two. Since it was for a good cause and all.
Setting her bags down, she went one by one in collecting all of the pretty pink flowers she could find from the various, colorful vases. One for Teddy dearest, one for Chase… she couldn’t forget Lace, or Kat, or Regan and if she was getting flowers for Chase and Regan then she probably needed to get one for handsome Trey, regardless of whether or not he liked flowers and who knew about the new guy...
Her nose wrinkled when she remembered the other members of the wolfpack, two members she’d rather not purchase flowers for, if she could help it. But she could already hear Chase dearest chiding her over getting everyone but Suri a flower… hmph.
The remaining pink flowers were promptly ignored as Priscilla took her sweet time browsing the collections for what she felt was the ugliest, most horrific looking flower. One looked about as bright as the mustard she’d been attacked with, so that one was set aside for nasty little Silk. The one she finally found that reminded her of the color of mud - perfect.
Paying the young women, she smirked as she waited for them to pull out a piece of paper and pen.
But they didn’t.
Eyebrows furrowed and the lady at the table asked if there was anything else she could help Prissy with.
“What… you aren’t going to deliver these?”
