"Stage 1 is for those students confident in their abilities who choose to use them in a battle setting, under supervision of teachers with abilities of healing, sorcery, psychic, and negation"
This area of the Arena is a Battle Royal setting, where students confident in their skills fight in view of other students and teachers. There are a variety of teachers who remain in this area, but the ones in charge are Dennis Constantinople, who can negate all powers of those within 10 metres of him to prevent a fight from getting worse. Assisting teachers to this area are Alexandria Breckinridge, whose psychic abilities allow her to determine how a fight is going to go before it can be acted upon, and Oliver Torvald whose healing skills play a role alongside his muscle memory as he can predict moves before they occur.
This Stage is surrounded by a powerful force field, keeping bystanders safe from harm of what goes on in the area.

Kimberly stood amongst the large group of students in Stage 1, curious as to how things would play out. She was a little worried, but she was confident in her sound manipulation. She knew the tricks that few people would assume of someone who could control sound. People underestimating her ability was something that she was hoping for, but if she was put up against a psychic she'd have to get creative.
Matthias stood beside Kimberly in the Stage 1 line, ready for battle. As an aspiring Police Officer, he already had incredible strength and speed and was quick at thinking on his feet. His cloning was something that was an added bonus, and something that he could contribute to his job. His clones could take damage and not be hurt, the same with his Astral Projections.
Naomi was interested to get her powers under control, and she knew it was tied into her emotional state. Storms were something she needed to use in a battle setting, because she knew she had to surrender control to master it. While skating, she was a perfectionist, lost in her thoughts of every single move being perfect. Storms weren't perfect, and she knew she had to have a dual mentality; on and off ice. It wouldn't be easy, which is why she was excited to know who would mentor her.

Ezekial didn't have powers other than his body, but he was superhuman in that regard. He'd have to hold back punches and kicks, make sure he didn't hurt anyone, but some students could take it. Holding back was unhealthy, and he needed to release all of his power during Magic Studies, to allow him better control during sports. He never wanted to cheat, especially with sport as a chosen career, but this class it was almost expected for him to do so.

Autumn was ready to battle, but she was surprised by the sheer amount of students waiting in Stage 1. It was almost like it was 60% of the student body standing there, and she wondered how on Earth everyone would be able to fight and make use of the class. She hoped she would actually be able to showcase her abilities, as not everyone had sorcery as a power, and she doubted many had her level of potential.

Alistair was worried about the amount of students in the class and was second-guessing his choice to remain in this class. He knew he had to stick with his gut feeling, and that only through hard work and control would be be able to master his power. He had to stand his ground and allow himself to experience this, as he would end up fighting eventually. It was a fear of losing control that overwhelmed him, not necessarily the power itself.

Manni walked over to Stage 1, feeling that his invisibility could be better for fighting than mentoring. He noticed the sheer amount of students collecting there and wondered how the hell anyone would be able to fight. It would be madness! he assumed that something would be done with, and he was curious to see what happened in the first few lessons. Group people with similar powers together and practice? Group battles? He didn't know, but he was excited to find out.

Ebony bounced up and down, ready to start the class and get fighting. Or at least know what was going on. Group activities? Demonstrations? She was keen for anything and wanted to get up and moving~! She giggled happily, standing out like a sore thumb amongst nervous students wondering just what was going to happen.
Samantha had spent the whole day hidden in the back of classrooms, not speaking and making herself known. She knew this class would not allow her to hide in the background. Her magic ability, limited as it was, was strong enough to be a fighter, but she would likely switch to Mentoring at a later point as there wasn't much for her to master. She was content with her abilities and they didn't bother her. The occasional history lesson from touching objects was annoying, but tolerable.

Single fights would have to wait until the best-of-the-best had been discovered amongst the masses. Not everyone would want to fight solo in front of a huge crowd. Save that for a finale kind of ordeal. She knew students with similar powers would need to be put into groups. She had a list of powers in front of her, next to names and pictures. She didn't want completely similar powers, but those who worked well with one another. She began sorting groups out.

Aeron jumped a little when his name was called, as she wasn't expecting anything to happen for a while, distracted by looking at the students standing still in Stages 2 and 3. He moved over to Group 2 alongside Naomi, Ezekial, Emmanuel, and Alistair. He didn't know anyone in the group so he wondered who would have similar powers to him. He doubted they would want him around knowing what he could do.
"Hi, I'm Aeron," he introduced quickly in case they wanted to know who he was.
