User ImageNgcono's world, for the most part, existed of blacks and whites. Goods and bads. The feeling of laying on a rock that had been warmed all day in the sun? Good. Slipping in the mud right where everyone can see? Bad. His family? Good. The rogue-born members of the pride? definitely definitely bad.

His judgements were mostly based on gut feelings, but it seemed to have worked out for him so far so there was no real reason to question it. There just seemed to be.... Well. A few hiccups.

The other group of children that were born around the same time as he and his siblings, for example. The youth from the Aguu family. Bad? Good? It was.... eh... complicated. And Ngco didn't like complicated things.

So he had spent the afternoon ruminating on it. They had, of course, met various times since their cubhood. Litters were born infrequently enough around these parts that the birth of two litters from separate families? It seemed like strangers were always trying to push them together. It. Drove. Him. Crazy.

So they were a Bad, right?

But at the same time, he didn't really mind them. Well, some of them. ...Well okay, maybe just one.

The adolescent grit his teeth. It was midafternoon, and he sat nestled between two rocks by the riverbed. When he was younger the rocks had been big enough to hide him from anyone who wasn't looking too hard. Now, though, he found that he had to crouch low to the surface of the water to get seclusion, and even then the bold and dark parts of his body stuck out. He couldn't even fit in his favorite hiding spot? This was a definite Bad.

When not watching her younger sibling, Ncu had been watching the lighter male from the Nganga family. She would be lying if she hadn't fallen smitten with the boy from their first meeting, but since then she had only seen him a pawful of times. Still, that didn't do anything to stop the feelings that radiated from her smaller form.

Today she had seen Ngcono trail off, hiding between two rocks. Well, almost hiding. His dark tail could been seen swaying behind him, which caused the light eyed female to grin. Ah, what was he thinking? There were surely better hiding spots that would accommodate his growth, wouldn't there be?

"Ncu. What are you doing?" The lighter male had asked, approaching his sister with a pout on his face. "Shouldn't you be practicing hunting or something?"

"Er..." Ncu glanced away from the ghost-like male, turning towards her brother with a small eye roll. "We finished for the day." She lied, something she tried mastering as a cub to get herself and some of her siblings out of trouble. "So I was just lounging and...enjoying the view."

Ihe snorted, moving closer to his sister to see 'what view' she was talking about. "There's nothing to see here." He grunted, but the flick of a tail between two rocks caught his attention. "Him? Really?" No. Ncu would not continue watching him! Ihe would tell off the male, to leave his infatuated sister alone! He could stick to a different part of the pride, one where the Aguu's rarely traveled for all her cared.

Another snort, Ihe turned away from his sister, heading down to Ngcono. "Hey. Nganga. You." He called out with a huff.

When Ngcono first heard someone approaching, he didn't really pay any mind. Maybe someone was just passing by. Or maybe one of his sisters had found him and his favorite alone-time spot. When he heard the voice calling to him by his family name, though, he bristled. Ngcono sat up, looking to Ihe with an obvious (and maybe a bit overdramatic) roll of the eyes.

"You got a problem?" Ngcono grumbled back. He sat up tall, as if he were trying to loom even though he wasn't any larger than the green adolescent. Oh great. Just the company he had been hoping for. It seemed like he was going to have to find a new thinking spot. A bummer, though he'd rather have to try to find somewhere new than have a spot that overlapped where Ihe frequented.

The black and white male snorted, glaring at Ihe for a moment before noticing the other figure nearby. "Oh, hey Ncu. Didn't see ya there," he called to the shadowy lioness. His voice and his expression softened a touch as he did so, partially because he did have a fondness for her and partially on the off chance that it would push Ihe's buttons, though those two reasons might have had some overlap in Ngco's head…

"Ihe, leave him alone." Ncu murmured as she trailed her brother.

Golden eyes narrowed. "I do have a problem."

"Er..Hey Ngcono~" Ncu greeted, trailing Ihe. "Really, don't mind him, he just woke up on the wrong side of the den," she reached a front paw to scratch at the back of her ear, a sheepish look on her face. "Ho--how are you doing?" The light stutter, caused from the butterflies that were now jolting in her stomach.

"Don't ask how he is doing, Ncu. Are you crazy?" Ncu flashed Ihe a look of annoyance, before his own eyes settled on Ngcono. "You know, you are too big to be hiding. Shouldn't you be doing more things for your family instead of just lazing about? You are being a distraction towards my sister, and I will not have that!" Ihe grumbled.

It was a good thing Ncu's pelt was dark, for she felt a heat rising to it quickly as Ihe spoke. She pushed at her brother, trying to keep him quiet. He knew nothing! (Unless she talked in her sleep. Oh...did she talk in her sleep? Not good).

"Ha-ha...Ihe doesn't know what he is talking about! I thought I would just come by and say hi you know? It's uh...been awhile since we saw each other!"

The adolescent gave a pointedly exaggerated scoff and he gave Ihe a glare. "And who're you to be bossing me around? Don't you have better things to do than follow your sister around and tell her what to do? She doesn't need a babysitter," he spat, his nose wrinkled into a sneer.

Ngcono stood, his shoulders squared and his head straight as if in an attempt to make himself look bigger. His tail twitched behind him in frustration before he have an annoyed "Ugh" in Ihe's direction and shook the annoyance out of his head.

His grey eyes turned to the dark Ncu and he smiled. It was mostly a friendly smile, though admittedly some of it stemmed though some feeling that it would push Ihe's buttons. "I'm good, Ncu. I hope you're having a good day? Even if someone is trying to sour it for no reason?" He gave another pointed glare, despite himself. Honestly, he didn't really know what it was about Ihe that bothered him. He wasn't an outsider. Sure, he wasn't as good as his own family (because honestly, no one was), but that wasn't Ihe's fault.

He was just…

Ugh. He was just so... Ihe.
