Lol way to hype something up that majority of the userbase is not going to appreciate. It's really disappointing to see a new feature only for the people who purchase Gaia Cash. You got everybody worked up when people are tired of your Gaia Cash push.

Other than purchasing Gaia Cash directly, you can always earn Gaia Cash for free via the bulletin board, marketplace, spending gift cards, surveys, offers/paygarden etc
Just spending the Gaia Cash you already have, will let you earn points

Yes these purchases qualify for buying stars! I can amend the FAQ later if it is not clear

If there's a glitch when purchasing GC or buying an item with GC and file a ticket about it, does it also apply to getting a star?
Yes! Just be sure to note in your ticket that stars are missing, and we can grant stars to you for any mistakes the system may have caused

Hi, I'm just wondering how long users are going to be waiting for star grants? Since the backlog is currently in the 1000s/people waiting for months to replies on tickets. Curious about how quickly a paying customer can expect to get their rewards in the event of a glitch..

You do not need to file a ticket to receive a star grant, you should earn your stars immediately upon approved purchases or spending. If you do have an issue where you are not granted the appropriate stars or gaia cash, please file the appropriate Billing Ticket (not a General Inquiry ticket!)

As long as the ticket is filed correctly, as a Billing Ticket, not a General Inquiry ticket your issue should be looked at and hopefully resolved quickly. Depending on the when it is filed usually within 1-2 business days.

Ah yes. Lanzer will also be working on getting GC spends working and adjusted properly. You should see adjustments to your points if you spent GC by end of day today!

Yeah! We plan on rotating the store with new and old items, we also hope to have some other rewards other than what was mentioned in the future. We're open to suggestions of things you would like to be rewarded with

I read through the FAQs and I was going to ask if items released through the Gaia Rewards will be re-released in some other method but ... are you seriously locking items gotten through the Gaia Rewards to the account that purchased them? neutral

Are you referring to soul-binding of items or if an item earned from the program, being exclusive to the program? If for whatever reason an item is soul-bound, we would be sure to make it clear (although I see no plans of doing this any time soon). All items that go into the store are eligible for re-releases.

Will partial purchases add up? I tend to spend smaller amounts of gcash, on the occasion I do, as I mostly get my small cash from the bulletin board or free offers (I have paid on occasion, maybe once a year).
If on Monday I spend 100 gcash, Tuesday 200, and then on Wednesday another 100, will I get my star on Wednesday?
If not, could you consider lowering the amount of cash spent?
Also getting rid of the expiration date would be a great idea.
Overall I still feel sad that this is the "big thing" trying to get more money, I along with many others was hoping for a free, universal, upgrade that the community as a whole would love and appreciate.

Yes, partial purchases will add up! The expiration date will need to stay because if you do not redeem your Stars within 6 months, they will no longer be redeemable. You can see your entire point lists on the points listing page

No. Marketplace GC purchase will not earn your Stars.
Aren't people technically spending GC in the Marketplace... I know it's not disappearing back into your system but it is spending the GC, so it should technically earn Stars.
Unfortunately, it creates a loophole to abuse the system. One user could technically create two separate accounts and shift their inventory from one account to another while earning points. sad
I am amending my statement... we will allow for marketplace gc purchase to count, excluding gift card purchases. This will be updated in the FAQ and updated on the system by next week. We will give more details about it then!

I'm not getting why MP GC purchases don't count? The GC disappears when you purchase an item with it, so unless a user has a way to generate unlimited amounts of gc for no cost, he/she is otherwise buying gc to do this.
The abuse part is actually with the gc cards, as a user can technically buy a gc card, open it, buy a gc card from the cs, open it, rinse and repeat ad nauseum.

We intend on featuring coupons as rewards. If you redeem a coupon, it will be locked to your account and you will not be able to transfer it to another account.

You don't need to spend any money to earn Gaia Cash if you choose to earn your Gaia Cash through other methods, you passively earn points while using your Gaia Cash. We can definitely amend this in the FAQ, thank you for your feedback.

Yes, you should also be rewarded for purchasing through the Gaia on the Go app. If you do not see the points, please file a billing support ticket.

I give you guys props for finding new ways to make spending money on the site fun. Something dynamic and enjoyable is a great idea and it breaks up some of the monotonous sales. I'm glad you guys are excited for it too.
But really, please don't hype this kind of stuff like you did. We were all rooting for something really cool that didn't involve GC. We're just really disappointed now that we were waiting in hot anticipation for something that wasn't going to happen.

We appreciate your feedback! We stated back in December that we would be introducing a new version of a loyalty/rewards program and apologize for any confusion that may have caused in January.

Why not put something like ticket fragments or something actually worth spending money for? Why did y’all just put old items that will end up being pennies in no time?
We decided to launch with just a few items for now and intend on adding/rotating various items/coupons etc. in the future.

Why remove the giftcards from cash shop though? Wouldn't it be the same buying a giftcard then spending that card/someone else spending that card as it would be to just buy the cash then spend it? I feel like their removal (if they are not intended to return again) would do more harm than good when it comes to making cash sales.

I had them on a weird expiration earlier today but they should be in the store.

yall have yet to try to explain how this is gonna do anything for your non-paying userbase beyond "we gain stars via spending gcash too" :/

I was under the impression users wanted us to revamp the mobile app and we've all talked about the changes to the bonus cash system for months (or years depending how you see it) and how we could improve the bonuses, rewards and program itself.

However this is pretty much a second tier thats nowhere close to as appealing as just a normal tier. Tiers are great im glad they didnt end up disappearing. But this is like a tier knockoff that nobody asked for. People wanted a bonus gcash replacement of sorts, i dont think this is what anybody had in mind or would want. Spend money for a month or more to maybe afford an exclusive item. Not really motivating. Cant wait to see the ticket star prices if it becomes a thing.
Although only items are in the store right now, we hope to have other types of rewards in the store whether it is bonuses itself or other things Gaians could enjoy. How you use your Gaia Cash or stars is ultimately up to you, and we're always open to your feedback.

That leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I don't want to be saving up all my rewards for something I want, only to find out they expire and I can't use them for the next rotation.

Our rewards program is built similarly to other rewards programs in the industry. Examples are Nintendo, Sephora, Starbucks, etc.

Or maybe it could be modified a wee bit - once the resources are there to program it - that way a star could randomly be earned similar to a Pink Link or something?
Just as other ideas that could make it friendly to all people!

The staff noticed could have simply stated that a new reward system is coming and we would have understood that this wasn't going to be a new feature for us to enjoy. Nobody is upset that you guys are trying to earn money and incentivize buying GCash, we're upset because your wording was incredibly vague which led us to believe something new and exciting was coming to Gaia.
We originally opened up about a new loyalty/reward system coming back in December and apologize for any confusion that may have caused.

Overall, I like this. 3nodding I just see it as a bonus since I already buy and spend GC. The only thing I'm not keen on is the expiration of stars. I know things will rotate, but for example, I don't see anything that I'm currently interested in. What if that kind of... keeps happening? I don't like the thought of 'having' to use up stars or just letting them expire. I see this reward system as more of a slow build up for me to gather stars for something that I (hopefully) really want, rather than buying/spending all the GC that I need right then and there.
Other than that, I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes!
