Backdated to early January 2019
A new year most definitely required an update to her apartment. It was a perfect excuse to redo the decor, out with the old negativity, in with bright vibes and new cozy layouts. At least, she'd finally decided on cozy instead of sleek like she'd been originally thinking for the last month leading up to the holiday season. Perhaps it was just the fact it was winter, but Felicity most certainly felt like she needed a nest.
Stepping out of a store onto the bustling sprawl of one of the prime shopping streets in the city, she was grateful it didn't feel like a blizzard. Even as the sun slid away behind buildings and somewhere out there the horizon, the numbers on her cell's face didn't plummet.
Sure, there was a n** in the air, but when she pulled her thick coat further around herself and tucked her nose closer to her scarf, it wasn't horrible. Felicity winced slightly though as she checked a monitoring app on her phone. The heat was working fine and dandy at her place, particularly in her babies' room. She breathed a sigh of relief, some of the air puffing up around her face and bouncing blonde bangs amongst the mini cloud.
Her arms were largely empty, only a few small bags here and there with bobbles around a theme of forest and new growth. Most of her purchases she just had shipped home. One though weighed particularly in her arms. A dense back strewn with bright yellow and green leaf patterns, the logo for A Girl's Best Friend with silhouettes of a cat, dog, bird, and rat arranged beneath the shop's name. A brand spanking new heating lamp, ready to replace a slightly older one she wasn't convinced would properly keep Scarecrow's tank up to preferable temperatures. The old one she could bring out to the living room so she could enjoy it when she lounged with them, was her delighted idea. Something that put an extra bounce in her heeled step as she meandered down side roads, debating her next stop. Food or home?
Each time she passed an alley, she couldn't help but slice her gaze down it. Cats and curiosity and all that. Peering into shadows was a new norm for her, always trying to see if any detached from the masses. Preferably a humanoid figure.

Pyrophanite HATED.
HATED.
Absolutely hated winter. It was the worst. I was even worst now that he felt even more sensitive to the cold. Since Mamushii's disappearance from his mind, and his body feeling...lighter. Adjusted....He still felt sensitive to the cold. Even now the snake boy desperately wished he was home, cozying up to Ships and Hauyne.
Hauyne....He frowned, knowing they needed more of a talk then the last one. Hauyne deserved so much better then him but....now that he was himself, he was gonna be a better person for them. He was gonna try too.
What he wasn't going to do, was be a better person for the world. He starseeded a civilian in the alleyway, turning the little seed around in his fingers. He hadn't had a starseed since Mamushii disappeared, and debated on a small snack when he felt the chill of someone watching him.
Blue eyes turned, blinking from black and white vision to his heat to take in a blob of human heat staring into the shadows here. Dragging the body behind him, he moved forward more in the light.
"Ya got a ******** problem dude?"

Oh, the shadows did move. Her eyes widened, pupils dilating as she stared into the murk and gloom. It wasn't either of the tall, dark, and luscious silhouettes she was more--vaguely, relatively--familiar with. This was a different cut in the darkness, different stature and substance.
Logically, she was just another person in the streets. Just another potential target, a source of those pretty gems that glistened and glowed. She could hear the grind and scrape of something heavy being dragged. This was more akin to her meeting with Harmotome, witnessing a predator in its natural state. In her head, it reasoned to be respectful, but fear didn't bloom. Awareness, certainly. She could turn from present to prey at a flip of a switch.
The voice had reached her first, her eyes still adjusting to the dim lighting. "Not at all," she said simply, voice light and casual as if discussing the weather. She took a few steps forward into the maw of the alleyway. The heat lamp bumped against her leg as she moved. "Sorry if I interrupted, was just keeping an eye out for friends, that's all." Pale hair fanned on her shoulder as she tipped her head to the side, taking in the red and black ensemble. A classic sort of uniform, she decided. Certainly helped to make it harder to see them. Her nose wrinkled slightly though.
"How many layers is that uniform? That looks more formal attire rather than practical for the winter. Are you doing alright out here?"

The body was let go of his hand, a sickening thud and crack following after as a small pool of red begin to show around the head. It was enough force to look like the man had slipped and fell, but it was the jewel in the night that was the real surprise.
Pyro switch back to black and white vision as he got closer to the decidedly not so much dude voice and looked the woman over.
Nice rack.
"Keeping an eye out for friends in alleyways? Lady you got some sick habits." She wasn't running away screaming and that was concerning in itself. He stepped fully into the light, adjusting his hat so he could see her even more clearly.
"I think thats none of your ******** concern. It's cold, I don't like being cold." A hand reached out and hovered over her chest. "Honestly, can't really let you go wandering around after you seen me tits." He licked his lips, two starseeds in one night? Amazing. "Wanna run? It makes the chase fun."

The crack of skull against concrete caused her gaze to glance away from the agent to the body, a reflex more than anything else. Squinting towards the face in the darkness, she quickly determined it was not someone she was familiar with, and therefore, was not her concern. Was it a bit disconcerting to have a body there that might be someone still dying? Somewhat. The hair at the back of her neck rose and she had to force herself to not squirm a little where she stood. But sacrifices had to be made, was her understanding of the purpose behind it all.
"If your agents didn't make it a habit of skulking in alleyways, I wouldn't need to look there so frequently," she retorted warmly, refuting the notion that she might have any connection to the typical sort who occupied such spaces. Although. Hm. By her own words didn't that make Negaverse agents typical sorts? Ugh. They needed to change their tactics, that was a horrible association.
Certainly though, this agent was far less chatty than her prior encounters. A tricky thing, considering his hand was soon above her chest. Her? Run? Her lids narrowed and her expression cooled considerably. Rude. "Is this how you respond to any note of outside concern, or merely a concerned citizen's? Because if it's the former, I certainly feel bad for your co-workers. If it's the latter, then you are horrible for recruitment."
It brought him all a great deal closer though, and as she tipped her head back a bit to meet his eyes, she was snagged by... scales? The irked glare faded into intrigue and her lips pursed together slightly. "Oh! You have scales, too, like Nagyagite." Her annoyance kept a smile from forming, but she couldn't help but feel a bit more excited about the encounter as she added, "Is that just part of your uniform, or are you a half-youma like he is, too?" If it was the former, sad but still cool. If it was the latter, well then she had some further topics of discussion.

She was pretty sassy for being a babe with tits. Kind of reminded him of Harmotome and his face squished in disgust, thinking of the other large breasted captain.
"Alleyways are places people shouldn't be going or seeing, Tits." He refuted back, tipping his hat back and snorting at her. "Don't know no Nagagagaite or whatever. I'm just me, Pyrophanite." He jabbed a thumb.
"Juries out on recruitment. I don't recruit what I don't need, and I take what I wanna take. I'm not one of those fools that follow rules. I got my own missions and s**t. I live my life like I wanna-" He broke off at her sudden interest.
"Fact that Nagagaga whatever let you know what we are is concerning though, maybe he likes ya. Some half youma like to eat people." He reached over and flicked her forehead. He wasn't gonna poach on someone elses plaything, but she seemed keen on talking.
"I got bit by a snake." He grinned, "I got scales, I got the eyes and best of all...." He was careful, releasing just enough miasma out for her to see, without it greatly effecting her. "I got the poison."
