Wincing slightly as she shifted position on the roof edge where she perched, Nis reflected that she really should have just gone home after her class. It would have been the more logical thing to do. Or she could have gone to her wonder to unwind with a glass of wine. Someday, she'd really have to figure out how to heat enough water for a bath up there...
Shaking herself from her thoughts, the tall page instead grumbled to herself about life choices. At least she wouldn't be entirely helpless now. Her self defense classes were exhausting, but they'd keep her alive if she ever again ran into anyone more interested in fighting than talking. Or if she had to defend someone who couldn't do it for themselves.
Either way, sore as she might be, Nis considered herself ready for just about anything.

Ellenore Blackwall had never signed up for self defense classes. Her mother had tried to sign her up for karate once -- honestly, she might have wanted to be signed up for karate, she couldn't remember -- but the attempt had gone by the wayside. She lacked the discipline and the attention span. There were so many other things she could do with her time. She was spending her current evening out in the park with a deck of tarot cards. Playing with her cards hadn't been her original intention when she'd set out to enjoy her evening, but the stoners she'd found chilling in the playground had gone quickly once spooked by her wraith and drained of their energy and now she was b-o-r-e-d. While picking a fight wasn't something that she always did, she kind of hoped that something would come along and remedy the dullness of her night.

Having left her rooftop perch as an aura brushed against her senses that she couldn't place, Nis stumbled across the first of the drained stoners. Eyes widening in shock before narrowing angrily, Nis stormed ahead. Okay, maybe she should have paused to check the vitals of the guys, but how helpful would that have been? If whomever or whatever had caused his collapse was still around, it was better to make sure that they couldn't hurt anyone else.
Okay, it was shaky logic, but right now it was all she had.
Well, shaky logic and the sense that whoever was producing the aura she'd felt was getting closer.
"Seriously," she muttered angrily to herself, "who goes after a stoner? They're mostly harmless and just dumb."

"People who are bored, without guidance, and looking for easy targets," she piped up from where she sat, gathering her cards back together and tucking them gently back into their velvet bag. While they weren't her favorite deck, being ones that she'd gotten specifically to take out on boring patrol nights with her, she didn't want to just leave them. "I just scared him a little and took his energy. He'll be fine once he wakes up. He'll probably think it was all a bad dream." She shrugged her shoulders as she stood up, stepping up onto the bench and then climbing up onto the picnic table to get a better view. "Gonna do something about it?"

Managing to hold in a startled yip as a... senshi? she'd never seen before suddenly spoke and moved, Nis could only stare for a moment. She didn't see any marring holes in chest or forehead. The hair wasn't ridiculous, so this wasn't a corrupted senshi.
But she sure as s**t wasn't a normal one either. Normal senshi didn't drain energy.
More than a little confused, Nis still knew a challenge when she heard one and felt her jaw set angrily. Did this weird chick think that she was just going to go about her business with a smile and a nod? Of course she was going to do something about this.
She just didn't know what, exactly.
"The ******** are you?" she settled on asking as she got closer. Once she was close enough, she was certain that she'd have come up with a brilliant plan.

The young woman clicked her tongue against her teeth, tsking softly as she shook her head. "Such language. I thought all of you light-bright types were supposed to be all goody-goody." She was making assumptions, which she knew could be problematic, but she didn't really care. This was already shaping up to be more fun than just draining people and hanging around. "You're more worried about what I am than who I am? That might be a bit of a problem too -- for you, not me. I can tell you both, but you're probably not going to like the answer~" Her tone took on a sing-song quality to it, smile bright as she hopped from the picnic table down to the bench on the opposite side from where she'd started. One more hop took her to the ground, putting her in a better position to tap into her magic. "I am Sailor Abstracta of the Dark Mirror, Senshi of the Spectre and you're about to witness Abstracta's Apparition! Now you see me..." The sound of her voice floated as she disappeared into a sketchy haze of static. The movement, jerky but fast, took her from standing in front of the page to suddenly standing just behind her. With one hand she tapped on the young woman's shoulder, bringing the other up to take a solid swing at her the second she turned around. DaisyMilk Sailor Scout Attack: 1A Abstracta's Apparition The How To: Now you see me? Now you don't. Upon uttering the name of her attack, Abstracta 'disappears'-- or it seems that way, at least. In the style of survival horror Abstracta is surrounded by 'static' (think old black and white television static) and suddenly moves from point A to point B. Abstracta's magic can be activated instantaneously, although it may be likely to fail until she's mastered it (likely to disorient her during early use). Range: Point A and Point B can be no more than five feet from one another. Magic is used to either gain distance on or put distance between. Uses: 3

Watching the senshi and rolling her eyes at the admonishment, Nis had come to at least one conclusion. Maybe two. As the senshi smiled and hopped from the table, Nis shook her head.
"Right. What you are is crazy and full of yourself. Good to know."
The knight had never heard of a Dark Mirror senshi and she made a mental note to look further into this when she had more time. And she was more than ready to dismiss the crazy girl when she was suddenly just.. gone. Blinking, Nis rubbed at her eyes, wondering if this was some sort of illusion and Crazerina was still just standing in place. That theory was quickly put to bed when she felt a tap on her shoulder and automatically turned to see who had managed to sneak up on her.
The fist that smashed into her jaw had her seeing stars for a moment. Fortunately, it didn't feel broken, but oh, chewing was going to hurt for a while. Falling back, she crouched and waited for the world to stop spinning.
"Oh, you sneaky, little b***h," she breathed as one hand groped blindly for anything she could use to help defend herself.

"I did tell you that you weren't going to like the answer. I tried to warn you." Abstracta crossed her arms over her chest, feeling more than a little confident in her abilities for the moment when normally she was a little shaky and unsteady after using her magic Was she finally starting to learn? "Are you at least going to introduce yourself while you're feeling around? Or are you just going to keep calling me names? That's not very nice."

"Nice is as nice does, honey," Nis hissed through clenched teeth as her lips pulled back from her teeth in what could have been smile or snarl. Satisified that she was steady enough, Nis curled her fingers into the dirt. Clods weren't all that terribly useful, but maybe as a distraction? She had to work with what she could since she had no magic and had no idea how much power Little Miss Abstracta had to work with.
Well then.
Moving quickly, she rose to her feet, slinging the dirt clod for the other girl's face. Meanwhile, her other reached for the girl's hair, hoping to seize a handful and drag her off balance. It was dirty, stereotyped to hell tactics, but hey. She worked with what she could.
"Oh, did I forget to introduce myself? Silly me. I'm Nis, page of Cosmos."

Abstracta let out a squeak as she brought her hands up to fend against the dirt, not at all wanting a face-full of earth and grass and whatever else might have come up with it. The hair pull that followed, yanking her back, was entirely unexpected and not at all something that she was prepared to counter. Who even did that? " Gross. Why are all of you Cosmos people so awful?" Flailing, she took another swing at the other woman in an attempt to get her to let go of her hair. If she could land another hit of any sort she could use her magic to get away and be done with this before either of them got really hurt.

"Well, I can't speak for any but myself, but maybe don't pull sneaky s**t that pisses people off!"
As horrified as she was that she had resorted to hair pulling, NIs couldn't deny how effective it was. She also could not deny that the flailing was a definite downside as Abstracta's hand managed to hit her already sore and rapidly bruising jaw in a hard slap.
"Oh you goddamned, ********, son of a b***h," Nis screamed before releasing her grip and staggering back, releasing a stream of inventive, colorful and biologically impossible swears as she held her jaw and leaked angry tears everywhere. Okay, she was so so very done with this nonsense.

" Ugh," Abstracta ended their squabble with a shove to get Nis away from her before calling on her attack once more. Instead of using it to get the upper hand in a fight she used it to put distance between them only to haul a** away from the page the second her feet were steady beneath her again. Abstracta, Senshi of the Spectre, made like a ghost and got right the ******** out of dodge. That was more than enough adventure for her for one night...
