The man in his arms struggled and Fafnir hissed through his clenched teeth, bracing his forearm harder into the stranger's throat and pulling as fast as he could. Energy flowed from the places they touched, pooling in the palm of his free hand at a frustratingly slow rate.

The senshi tried really hard not to think about the person he held pinned to the dingy brick wall outside the little liqueur store. Cheap wine was soaking into his boots, but the man didn't stink, for a wonder. He was fairly clean even, probably white collar, but not too well off. Wine for pleasure or celebration, most likely.

Stop it. It doesn't matter.

A scowl creased his forehead and Fafnir gritted his teeth. He's a non-entity. You'll never see him again. He's just for energy, just because its required. It doesn't matter who he is or what he was doing.

The man, his sandy hair disheveled from their scuffling, choked off a rough noise, but the press of Fafnir's arm kept him from crying out loudly enough to call attention to them. <********, I hate this. Just a few more seconds.

Cheomseongdae was not at all happy. She could sense, somewhere nearby, an agent of Chaos, but she could not quite pinpoint them. She was sure she had passed their signal several times, and she was getting irritated. She needed to see what was going, see if anyone needed help. She really hoped not, she would much rather they have no one nearby and she could get the hell out of here.

She paused, suddenly, and had to control the urge to do a face palm, because it occurred to her she was hunting on the roofs, and not checking below. They could easily be down there, feeding on some poor sap, like she had been, before she found the dumb wand she had tucked into her hair. She ran to the edge of the building, and made a leap over, landing on the cement below fairly lightly, thanks to a lower roof.

Once she was down, she reoriented, and ran to the left, and around a corner, then froze. ********, there the Chaos agent was, and they had a victim. Some poor sod was getting assaulted. She bit her lip then yelled "Hey. Blue and Purple hair, why don't you try to pick on someone your own size?"

Her brain rain that sentence back and she had to control the urge to wince, because ******** was that a dumb statement... But at the same time, she needed to try to save that poor civilian.

It was still hard to sense the power signatures as he'd been trained to do, or at least, hard to remember to pay attention to that sense. He didn't feel the approaching energy signature until someone was shouting at him and suddenly something in the back of his head was screaming ORDER.

Fafnir very nearly lost his grip on the energy he was holding as he whirled about, struggling to split his attention between keeping the man pinned and the ball in his palm from breaking out of his control. Damn them. Blue and purple hair? It was not a very... biting epithet, if that's how it was meant.

It seemed to be a woman who was confronting him. Young, middle height, long sunset hair, thin frame. Giant glasses. Lots of sparkles and clothes that matched her hair. He wasn't sure right off if she was a senshi or a knight, but since he hadn't really met much of either, probably not surprising. How much of a threat she posed, he couldn't guage well. He didn't trust his instincts in this, not when he had trusted Chase and things had ended up... well. With him here pinning a guy to a wall.

Fafnir released his hold on the guy and grabbed his hair instead, hauling him bodily and protesting in front of him, between the senshi and the servant of Order. He man gave a weak yell and he felt a pang of annoyance. Oh well. Probably too late now anyway.

"I'm sorry, but I'm really not prepared to play with you." He said breezily, trying to cover his own instinct to flee. "I'm just doing my job. He's not really hurt, see? Just some bumps and bruises because he struggled, I couldn't help that."

The colorful haired senshi did not let the man go when he turned to face her. Gods dammit, that was not what Cheom had wanted or hoped for. She kept her face blank, to prevent him from seeing the fact that he did not let the poor civ go was causing her anxiety. Instead she made the decision to sneer a little, looking him up and down with disdain, something she was faking entirely... If this had been civ life, or he had been Order, she'd have admired his look.

"Not hurt? Bullshit, Chaos Puppet. Anytime you do something to someone against their will, it harms them, even if the intention was good. What you're doing is ill intent, so you might as well be beating him. It's the same damn kinda thing."

Oh ********, her mouth was doing that thing again, the thing where it ran away with itself when confronted by a man doing bad things that scared her. First with that weird, religious Nega General, now this dude. She had to find a way to control that, because it could potentially get her KILLED someday and that really wasn't on her to do list any time soon.

"So why don't you let him go, and square up? I'm not gonna watch another poor civ deal with you all. And besides, you lot kill civs. I was once nearly one of them, and he bluntly told me that. I won't ever be again, and I refuse to let this poor sadsack be one too."

Ok maybe not the nicest way to refer to the civ, but he kinda did seem like one, at least at the moment.

A dark burn settled into Fafnir, but beyond a darkening of his eyes, he pulled on all his years of faking it to keep an expression he hoped was contrite and nonthreatening.

Could he take her? He had no idea. Did he want to risk it? Not particularly. Other avenues first. Fighting as a last resort.

"I'm as much a hostage as he is, you know." Fafnir said, his voice low. It wasn't entirely untruthful. "I don't have a choice, just like any puppet, as you say. If I don't take some of his energy, energy he will get back after a good night's sleep, I will be punished. How does that balance for you?"

Killed civilians? It made his stomach sour. He hadn't seen it personally, but somehow he wasn't surprised to hear it. Not really. His thoughts drifted to Rowan and he let some of the desperate sadness he still felt, festering away in the little box he kept it in, show in his expression. ******** him, he even felt the prickle of tears, which had not been intentional.

"I'm sorry. I don't want to do this. I hate it. I've never killed anyone and I never will... I'm not the monster you seem to think we are. Please..." He let his voice catch then, and swallowed. "Just let me go. I'll let him go if you back off."

Out of sight, his hand hidden behind the man, he pulled harder at his energy, draining it as quickly as he could do it while still keeping a grip on it and the man he held.

'"I've heard you lot can come back over, purify. If you're that unhappy about what you do, where you are, why stay on the side that punishes you for not doing evil?" She had her chin up, and her expression, normally either scared or shy or relaxed, was instead a little repugnant in her anger at what was, to her, a blatant lie and her frustration at the fact that he had not let the poor schmuck GO.

This poor idiot was going to die if she did not do something soon, and she really did not want to throw the first punch. But if she did not get a response that involved ACTUALLY letting go of the civ soon, punching time it would be.

At least her Aikido class would help her fight him more effectively, and possibly actually give her a chance at winning on the level of 'keeping him distracted long enough for the civ to get the ******** out'.

"You let go first. I'll stand here, watch you until he's out of range, and then you can go, how about that?" He was still holding on, she didn't trust that more then she would have trusted her father not to take his anger out on her back. She shifted on her feet, though, getting a better stance... just in case.

Come back? Purify? This was the first he'd heard of such a thing... but it was an interesting bit of information. Escape the Negaverse, his general, these awful duties...

There had to be a catch though. No way could it be something simple, or they'd never be able to keep people. Maybe some wanted to be part of this crazy secret military, but there had to be many like him who had had no choice about it. He'd have to be careful finding out more about it... He didn't think Labyrinthite would take it well if he started poking about.

"You make it sound easy." He said with a force laugh. "They'd kill me before I had a chance."

Probably. Most likely.

"Lots of things look evil from one point of view. Killing animals for one. Keeping them in tiny, dirty pens, never letting them roam free or even see the sky. But there is a big business in raising and butchering animals for food, and I doubt you harass them. This isn't that different. I can't get enough energy from animals, so humans are the only choice." He assumed anyway. He'd never actually tried. He'd rather not harm the animals, truthfully.

"I don't trust you any more than you trust me." Fafnir said finally, watching the page shift. It looked like he was running out of time, but at least he'd managed a sizeable chunk of energy from the man who sagged in his grip now, groggy and half passed out. "But if you want him so badly..."

The corrupt tucked the energy ball into the front of his uniform, against his skin, and grabbed the man under his arms. Even powered up, he couldn't do more than lift the man up, but he could giving him a rather violent shove forward, taking a few steps himself. Fafnir 'threw' the civilian at the girl. It wasn't elegant, but if she truly wanted to 'save' him, he hoped she'd go for the civilian rather than him.

Releasing at the last moment, he jerked back, turned and ran.

(idk if this totally counts for a battle, but it seems to fit what he'd do so I'll double check it later with a mod. She can chase him or not, up to you!)

Cheomseongdae was on the edge of her nerves, watching the man. He seemed, for a moment, like something caught his attention but she was not sure what it was, so she ignored it. More important was getting him to stop doing what he was doing to that poor man.

His words, though, about being killed made her face twist. "Doesn't surprise me, with the Chaos sorts. You've got a crazy general who pushes Christ, and people who murder civs, why wouldn't they murder someone who wanted to make a choice for themselves, and their own life? All the more reason to find a way out."

She did not know much about purification, she just knew people could, because she had been told about it. That was all. Even if he asked, she would honestly have to say she did not know the details. But he did not, he just kept going.

"You make it sound like I have access to the people in those Big Businesses. I don't. I do have access to you, right here and now, and what you're doing to this man. I'd do the same if I saw you doing it to an animal, whether you could get what you need or not. It's VILE. You're violating them." She had to control the urge to shudder, to react as if she was in pain, because for a moment, she had a shadow of memory hitting her, in a way that almost felt literal.

And then the civilian was flying at her and she was swearing as she caught the man. She had what she wanted, she saved the civ, and the Nega a** was fleeing... Goals achieved. She hauled the guy to the door of the liquor store and shoved him in, yelling "Call an ambulance, I found this dude passed out here!" Before ducking out and running to a place where she could get on the roof and make sure the guy got taken care... before she went home for the night.

If not, well... It was a fun RP. Good interaction, and we can only push our characters to do what we want so far! TY for the RP, please feel free to HMU again!
