His sister and Her’sie were bunkered away somewhere where they could stay safe and out of sight. A few nights previous they decided it was best if they separated. If they wanted to find somewhere safe to stay, their only choice was really to let Luris go ahead and scout for a place to call home, at least temporarily.
Luris struggled traveling in the hot, golden sand. It was one of the good reasons his sister didn’t travel with him. With her dark pelt, she would have been even hotter than him. It was strange not having his sister by his side, even odder to be all alone.
He kept looking for any sign of anything other than sand. ‘Maybe it would be best to just turn around and look elsewhere,’ He thought, straining to see much of anything. As he was about to turn, he spotted what looked like a stream or a river in the distance. It was enough to renew his energy. He started to sprint toward the water, doing his best to ignore the sandy wind brushing into him.
When he reached the water, he jumped right in, causing a splash. The scars on his body stung, but it was worth it to have the cool water on his fur. This was the perfect spot to take a break and recover, he thought as he rested in the water.

Fairy Snails (( I'm so sorry it's taken this long ; o; Still up for plotting them? ))
Alani had followed the river that stretched through their western border down for some distance. She didn't have any cubs to look after today, so she wanted some time to herself for once. Lending a large paw in cubs' upbringing was so rewarding, and she really enjoyed it, but it could also be highly draining. So, Alani found these brief breaks necessary and refreshing.
She had found a nice spot, relatively hidden by a shrub facing downriver. She could still see through spots in it, which made her feel safe being a bit beyond the edges of the Dumanne borders. It also provided a small space for her to tuck away once the sun got to be too much.
Dipping her toes in, she crouched, staring at the water passing through her fur before lapping some up. Everything seemed so peaceful. That is, until she heard splashing nearby suddenly. Her ears flew up, and she peeked her head beyond the shrub, eyeing whatever had made the sound. She felt tense, unsure of whether to run or approach; he looked to be cheetah, like her, but also looked injured. The caretaker in her immediately became concerned, and she found herself standing up and and stepping out into the water, though thought a moment to stop and watch for a moment more before approaching.
