100 mil would destroy the show. If she'd thought this all the way through, then she'd only want to get rid of the director who'd abused her, not the show entirely. She's a performer, why would she want to ruin it for everyone who truly loves the show?
Either way, I've met more actors than I haven't who have performed sick or with a sprain or before or after a surgery. Even more who have screwed up and faced the wrath of a disgruntled director. It's the way our lives work. Our job is to shake it off. We don't let it get to us.
Movin' Out is supposed to be one of the premiere dancing shows on Broadway. If there aren't tough directors, then I don't understand how it would have the reputation that it does.
In her defense, I don't know what caliber of abuse she's talking about, I've never been on Broadway before and I can't dance worth a s**t, I totally trust it's harder for dancers. I've been in professional dance studios before. I've heard instructors screaming at the little girls over the music behind closed doors. I've seen anorexia strike a 10-year-old dancer.
I know their lives aren't easy, but it seems misguided to strike out against the very show you're in rather than the director.
