She had been sleeping just fine, she normally did, but there were still nights where she woke up in a cold sweat panting and crying - tonight was one of those nights. Maybe it was because she was because of the attack on the clinic or it was going to happen anyway, she wasn't sure, it didn't matter though. She was up and clutching at the shirt she had been offered to wear to bed. Her long hair a tangled dark mess around her as a shaking hand reached up to wipe at the tears gently falling down her cheeks.

She could have gone to Arian, she was sure of it, but she didn't want to wake him. Sleeping made for better healing and they'd both been hurt earlier in the evening, while out patrolling, it was why they'd gone to the clinic in the first place. She did feel sore, and stiff, but right now that was fairly well ignored. She had woken up just as lights flashed and a crashing sound had filled her nightmare.

She was lucky, she knew, but sometimes she didn't think she was. She had lived, yes, but she still remembered it - especially in her dreams. Would she ever stop seeing, and hearing, it all when she slept?

Shaking her head slowly, trying to calm herself, Eunkyung wondered if she should get up and maybe wander the apartment a bit. It felt like trespassing on someones private property though. She'd been allowed to stay in the guestroom, for the night, and it felt wrong to wander about. But she just didn't want to go back to sleep...not yet, she wasn't ready. Maybe she could find something though, a book maybe, to focus her mind on in order to tire it out enough that she might not dream again? She really shouldn't though. Sitting there she continued to bounce ideas around, ways to occupy herself. Arian had to be asleep and likely his roommate had returned home and was sleeping, it had to be late.

It was late, but not the latest of nights Orah had seen before. Work at the hospital had kept her and then a round of patrol had her coming in well after midnight.

All the lights in the apartment had been out, but that wasn't so much of a surprise. After so long, she was used to Arian's habits, like he was used to hers. The system worked well and she was happy living here with him. It was comfortable. Familiar. It was home.

The light over the sink cast a wan sort of glow over the clean kitchen, catching in her dark hair as she leaned against the counter in her scrubs, glass of water in hand. The sky was clear out through the sliding glass door, even if she couldn't see the stars for the lights below. Just knowing they were out there was comforting. Being able to see the sky still made her feel better.

It was odd then, in such familiar surroundings, to hear a very unfamiliar sound of a girl crying from down the hall. Arian had messaged her about someone staying in the guest room, but she'd completely forgotten about it. It wasn't a happy noise that she heard and the glass clinked as she set it down and padded quietly down the hall. The bedroom was the door past the bathroom, on the right. Her old room, before Alkaid and the need to be able to see the sky before she could fall asleep. It was less accessible than the room connected to the balcony, but she hadn't had the heart yet to take it back.

Softly, Orah knocked the back of her knuckles against the wood, trying to not be too obtrusive. Maybe they didn't want company, which was perfectly okay, but... they were under her roof, so to speak, she felt a responsibility.

The soft noise against the door shouldn't have sounded so loud to her, and yet it did, it broke past the sounds she herself was making and filled the room with it's sound. Had she woken someone? Was it Athene or the room mate she knew about? She hoped she hadn't woken someone. Pausing a moment, to sniffle, Eunkyung did her best to bring herself to being quiet before calling out. "Come in?" It was something of a question, not knowing if they wanted to come in or just let her know they were there, or had heard her.

Which would it be? Athene or the room mate she'd heard about but had never seen and didn't know a thing about, aside from them being a senshi as well? Maybe it would be nice to meet someone new, it normally was, but like this? It was a bit...embarrassing really. But she couldn't exactly help when she had nightmares or how she woke up from them. They were one of those things she'd lived with for a while now, or at least it felt like a while. Every day after her parents passing, after the accident, seemed to drag on so slowly...that time was much longer than it really was.

Reaching for the pillow she'd been using to sleep the dark haired teen help it against her chest, both arms wrapped about it in a hug of sorts, as she waited to see was behind the door.

The noises stopped and Orah heard a young girl's voice ask her to enter. Curious now, as well as sympathetic, she pushed the door open so light from the kitchen, filtered down the hall, could find its way inside.

"Hey there..." She said softly, though she probably needn't have bothered. Arian's room was down the hall and all the way on the other side of the kitchen, so it was unlikely even a normal volume would have woken him up, if he were home. She felt a little dingy, still in her lavender scrubs with her hair in a french braid, bits falling out around her face. "I'm sorry to bother you. I just wanted to make sure everything was okay."

The girl looked young. Especially curled up in the bed like she was, pillow to her chest. The puffy eyes and redness supported the soft sounds she'd heard and Orah's heart went out to her. She was one of them, and she could guess what had caused the distress.

"I'm Orah, Arian's room mate. I just got home from work. If you'd like to talk or... have a little tea? I just wanted to let you know I'm here for it, if you want it." She kept her pose easy and relaxed, trying to project the sympathy she felt. I'm here. I can help, if you want me. "Otherwise, I can leave you be. I didn't mean to interrupt."

"H-he told me he had a room mate...another senshi." An eternal, something she was far from. Truth be told she wasn't sure she'd ever get there, it seemed far away and something she could never achieve. It wasn't that she wasn't a hard worker, and not a dedicated person, but battles and the danger of them were just intimidating and not her sort of thing. She figured that was some sort of magical need, it made sense anyway.

Nodding her head she held out her hand as she got up fro mthe bed. "Tea would be nice..and I'm Eunkyung...ummm..you can shorten it to Eun if it's easier. It's a bit hard for people to say." She knew that from experience. Her teachers, and classmates, had stumbled over her name plenty, and butchered it outright, but she expected it and accepted it. There were more than enough names she couldn't pronounce at the time either, some were still hard for her.

"I normally go for walks at night - when I wake up like this. So tea would be good...I don't want to go out tonight...not after earlier. I-I don't know if Arian told you what happened earlier." And maybe that was the reason for tonights nightmare, perhaps not, but it didn't matter did it? Tonight had been a less than pleasing night, scary was the best way to put it actually.

"I didn't want to leave this room and disturb anyone...but it's hard to stay still." Especially when you weren't used to it.

Orah took the offered hand and squeezed it, before she turned to the door. She was glad that she'd looked in on the young girl... it felt like she needed companionship, just then. The life of a senshi was hard, and it echoed in the faint sadness on Orah's own face as they walked.

"Eunk.. kyung..." She had to sound it out and it took a few tries to get it right. She did try though. It was good practice, considering the diversity she saw at work. Learning names seemed to help... people always seemed to relax more when you could address them right. "Arian told me some, but if you want to tell me about what happened, get it off your chest? I would like to hear it again first hand."

In the kitchen, she touched her shoulder and pushed her gently towards one of the tall stools in front of the counter. She slipped around behind it and cabinets made small noises as she got out her tea and some mugs for it. There was an electric pot to the side and Orah filled it with water before setting it back on its stand and hitting the button to get the boiling started. From the collecton of tea she chose a 'sleepy time' blend of lavender, camomile and passionflower.

Orah came to lean against the counter across from Eunkyung, leaning forward with her elbows on it.

"I don't mind, if you need to move around at night. I've had nights like that too. You're certainly not restricted to just the bedroom... I'd like you to feel comfortable and safe here, not confined. Its really not a bother to me, and I know its not to Arian."

She had offered a shorter, easier, way to say her name but the other female had tried. It was nice that she tried and did get it even, because she knew her name wasn't the easiest for people. It was nice to hear someone try and succeed, rather than give up or continue to mess up. It wasn't uncommon, sadly, for people to just give up and mess up her name every time, she was rather used to it happening in school.

"My cousin told me things aren't safe in this city....that even normal things, things you'd think were safe, aren't so safe. I didn't think a clinic though, a place for people to go when they need help. But the nurses, and the doctor, weren't normal. It was all normal at first but when the power went out it got strange after some minuets of just...nothing." Her cheek was still bruised from being hit in the face so hard, at least she wouldn't need to lie to her family. They were all knights so would understand, though they would fret over her.

Taking a seat, as she was gently pushed towards one, she curled herself onto the stool as best she could.

"Thank you. I tend to have nightmares...and wandering helps a bit. I used to wander a lot, even before the nightmares, but I find it helps. This city is just...so unsafe compared to back home. I'm never sure if I should wander the city or just where I live. I just...it's not home so I didn't want to wake anyone." It would have been rude, since she was a guest, but the other was giving her permission. Smiling she nodded her head. "Thank you...that means a lot. I'll try and keep as silent as I can if it happens again." Assuming she'd be over, at night, in the future.

"I can't lie and say its safe to wander the city, especially at night." Ida mused. "But I don't think its good, either, to give in to the fear and let it make you a prisoner."

"I need to get out sometimes too, so I understand how that feels. Some places you could try that are much safer than the streets are your planet and the Moon. You know how to get to them, right?" Without knowing how new Eukyung was, it was hard to guess at how much she did know. Or how much her cat had told her when she awakened. "I know its kind of limiting, only being able to go to your planet once a week and the moon a few days a month but... those are nights you don't have to worry about watching your surroundings. And I find a lot of comfort on Ida, when I'm there. It feels as much like home as this apartment does, really."

The kettle was starting to make noise and Orah turned to pick it up. Water gurgled into the cups she'd set out and soon the smell of herbs rose, warm in the kitchen air. The young woman set one of the cups in front of the other, steaming rising from the surface while the tag hung over the side. She set out honey too, and just in case, a small container of milk with some spoons.

"Do you want to tell me what the nightmare was about?" She said after a moment, gently coaxing.

"I've never been to either....I don't know how to get to the moon." And to be honest she didn't know why she hadn't visited her own planet yet, she knew it was there up in space waiting for her. It was up there like her cousins wonders were up there for them. She knew the idea of how to get there, from them, but she'd yet to go. She was, in part, she thought fearful of going there and seeing what may or may not be left over. She didn't know what to expect and that unknown had her unsure if she wanted to go, in part.

"The moon...only a few days a month...that and the planet are both rather limiting. But combined maybe not so much?" She did like the idea of being able to wander safely though, because she did like to wander. Before she could ask what the moon was like, wanting to know what was up there, the tea pot was making noise and a cup was being set in front of her. Watching the water poured into the cups. A bit of milk and honey was added, no sugar, and she managed a slight sad smile. Her hands going for the cup and a spoon to stir the milk and honey into the tea.

"I don't know if you know what school is like in other countries....I grew up in South Korea, Busan, and school was long and after school some of us, myself included, would go to another school. Hagwon...it would go late into the night and normally I'd take the train or the bus to get home from there. I didn't want to ask my parents to pick me up - they had work the next day and needed to sleep." Sipping, slowly, from her tea she was mindful of how hot it might be - and it was. It was good though...really good, it was nice.

"One night my parents decided to pick me up from hagwon and took me out for dinner. It was..unusual...but nice. To spend time with my parents and eat together. It was late though and it was raining." Taking a deep breath, a sip of tea, she took her time before speaking again. "We were coming back from Seoul, taking the highway, it was all normal until my father went to stop and my father lost control of the car somehow. They survived the accident...but they both left me." And she still had dreams of it, she was sure she always would, driving in the rain on highways especially at any sort of speed bothered her every time. She didn't think she would ever get over it, how did a person get over the loss of their parents when it was so sudden? When they still feared highways when it was raining out?

Shrugging, as best she could, her eyes watery she ducked her head to sip weakly at her drink. "I used to wander my home city, before the accident, because there was still things to do at night and I was still not tired enough to sleep after hagwon." Too wired and beyond over tired, to the point of being sort of awake and unable to shut down. "Now it's because I like to wander but also when I can't sleep." Or when she woke up like tonight.

Orah swirled her spoon through the tea in her cup. It blended the milk into it, dissolving the honey, and gave her something to do with her hands while she listened.

It wasn't a happy story, but she hadn't figured it would be. Nightmares were never happy... but the loss of her parents tugged at Orah's heart. She knew that feeling too well. And more than the loss, which was bad enough, was the guilt that came with it.

Could you have stopped it? Could you have done better? Would things be different, if only?

"Getting to the moon, or your planet, isn't terribly hard if you ever want to try it." She said after a moment. "If you have one of the basic phones, you just need one of the little moon pearls the cats have, and then when the moon is full, you can hit a button on your phone to be taken there. Its only available during the few days of the full moon. There is a button for your planet too, but that doesn't have set time. One of the upgraded phones has the pearl built into it, but it works the same."

Orah as thoughtful for a moment, her still hands soaking up the warmth from her cup. "Its a hard thing to go through, an accident like that. I'm not surprised you're having nightmares about it. It must be awful... I wish I could do more to help." Dreams were not really something she had a lot of experience with. Physical wounds, she knew how to deal with. Emotional ones? At best, she could offer warmth and understanding, and a place to be safe. She always hoped that would be enough.

"If you ever want company, when you're out wandering... you can always call me. I patrol a lot at night, after work. I'd be happy to help, if I can. I know how hard this all is, and how hard it is to lose a parent. You don't have to be alone with it..." Orah offered. No one needed to be alone.

"I have one of the phones...I had it upgraded." So it was whatever the newest model was, who would think they'd have different model phones as senshi. She had whatever, she assumed, was the latest though. "Oh! I was going to say something about not having a pearl. But it's built in...like an app I suppose. That's interesting. What was it before hand if not an app?" Wanting to know, and understand, she was a curious soul. It was one way people learned, by asking questions and being curious. She liked to learn - a lot.

"No....it'll never be easy. It'll get better in time, details will fade some. But it'll always remain - I know that. I just have to do the best I can." To make her parents spirits proud of her, to do as she was sure they'd want her to do. It was why she had to become stronger, so she could help people more. She had a lot on her plate but she'd had a loaded plate of tasks before; she could do this.

Nodding her head, slowly, she smiled towards the other. "I'd like that - a lot. I have my older cousins, and my cousin-in-law....but it's not the same. They're family...friends are different." And having a friend, or a few friends, would be nice. She had lived here a few years now and she lacked in the friends department still. "The moon...do you think we can go together...the first time. I know it's safe..but still." It was something new and she would like company, she was sure the other or even Athene, would understand that. "Oh! Ummm...if I can call you at night. I need your phone number...but I can't get my senshi phone...so is my normal phone number ok?" If they could exchange normal cell phone numbers, at least for now, it would be good. She'd still be able to call the other, and hopefully get an answer.

Orah's smile was sad as she looked down into the warm liquid in her cup. They had a lot in common, the two of them. Orah still felt the weight of memories, still felt the ache of them. It was easier to bear, but never really went away. She wished she could do something for Eunkyung, but accepted there was only so much anyone could do for either of them.

"Remembering the good things helps a little, I've found. I hope you can keep those close." There was a pause after as she sipped her tea, and then a smile bloomed across her face, warm and welcoming.

"I would love to take you to the moon! I'll have to look up the next night the moon is full." Orah rummaged around in the pockets of her scrubs for her phone, nodding along as she thumbed it awake. "I can give you my number. Actually, can you give me yours and I'll just put it in right now, and text you so you have mine?"

It seemed easiest that way.

"I don't mind if you use this number whenever and next time we power up, I can get us situated in our senshi phones. Oh boy... I haven't been to the moon in a couple years. It'll be good to see it again. I spend so much of my free time either patroling or on Ida."

"I try to do that, especially after nightmares." When she was on her walks she would let her mind wander and remember, all the good. It was for them that she continued in college and that she tried as a senshi, even if Seung wanted to protect her from being a senshi. She hadn't done much, not yet, but she would - she had to. She wanted to make a difference and help..and make her parents proud. "You've been through something similar? I-it sounds like it..." From the others words it sounded like the older woman knew her pain first hand. Did she? "I'm sorry if I'm being forward. But...like you're talking to me now. If you ever need...you can talk to me also." It was only fair and she wanted to get to know the other, to offer her something. She wanted to make friends and get close to other people.

Taking the others phone, for a moment, she was gentle about it as she went about saving her own number into Orah's phone. Once it was saved, with her name attached to it, she handed it back to the other. "I'd like that. Going to the moon on the next full moon...but why haven't you been there in so long? I mean people dream of the moon and romanticize it and all sorts of things. It's a place people would love to go and see up close...even if it is just craters..." Which it didn't seem like the moon was. It seemed like there was a lot more to it than people thought.

"I'll meet up with you the next time I power up then? And maybe...if it's not a full moon we can do something together?"

Whimsical Blue

Orah spread her hands with a shrug.

"I work, and when I'm not working I'm patrolling, or I'm on my own planet gardening or such. The Moon is pretty and full of old things, but it just doesn't have as much of a draw as my own world. It might be part of being a trascended senshi, or why that happened for me."

Taking back the phone, she tucked it into her pocket, lifting her cup to finish off her tea. After she set down the empty cup, she reached out for Eunkyung's hand and squeezed it gently.

"I appreciate the offer. Its old stuff though, stuff I've spent a lot of time healing from. It's just an ache now, really. Sort of sad and nostalgic." She smiled reassuringly. "I have to head to bed, but you are welcome to stay up if you need to, it won't bother me. The balcony has a nice view, and you could take the blanket off the couch if you want to curl up in one of the lounge chairs out there. I look forward for meeting up with you again, and I hope the rest of the night goes better for you."

That would make sense, it would explain why her older cousin and his husband went to their wonders so often. It was something she didn't understand, but maybe one day would? She was, for now, interested in the moon and perhaps visiting her home world as well. It was still a bit scary, of what might be up there waiting for her, but it was hers...right? She shouldn't be scared.

Smiling at the other her head nodded. "Thank you. I'll be up for a bit longer. But have a good sleep. We'll see each other soon." She was sure of it. The other had a nice calming sort of energy, it was pleasant, she just hoped they could one day become good friends. She could use friends of her own. Friends that were just hers...and that were separate from her family and those they worked with, as knights.

She did take Orah's offer, once the other had left and her own cup was rinsed out, and went out to the balcony with a blanket to curl up and enjoy the view. She didn't plan to fall asleep but she did. It was inevitable...she was tired.

Whimsical Blue
Finished me thinks. We should do some more between them. A nice friendship would be lovely, if you'd like.
