While it had been months since the young goddess of wisdom had arrived (however unwillingly) in the mortal realm, she had remained rather isolated in a rather uninhabited part of the rogue lands, and had yet to interact with anyone other than the rare other deity...and while she was not the type to rush forward hastily, she had finally decided that she wasn't going to learn anything more about the realm she was in if she didn't push herself out of her comfort zone. And so she found herself not far from the borders of the stormborn, caution making her tense, wings held uneasily at her sides. Even with her reluctance to interact directly with mortals, she'd heard rumors of this pride - they apparently took slaves, and frequently left their own lands to go on 'vikings', where they stole what they wanted from any who were unfortunate enough to cross their path....

If nothing else, it was the type of lifestyle that seemed unnecessarily risky, and so she had decided that a closer look might answer some of her questions as to why they would choose to live that way.

Amesema'uhuru padded softly at Siasa's side, eyes sliding deceptively casually across the landscape. While the goddess she travelled with was inherently cautious, she still lacked a certain amount of...discretion, as she'd never had to learn how to hide when cover was sparse, or try to outrun a larger predator, and the far more savvy jackal had taken it upon herself to help keep both of them out of trouble.

Midas had left the boarders of his own accord and could be seen wandering aimlessly through the lands, visibly in his own head. The lion had realized he needed a bit of time away from anyone in the pride, especially those that had been in the most recent reaving with him. Midas felt the ears and eyes of the pride constantly on him, especially with the damage that had been done and the severe harm that had fell upon Alby. Black eyes looked towards the sky as ghostly lights danced across the clouds causing the lion to shiver with fear. Just what was going on here?

It was during these musings that a lioness passed by, at least, his peripheral vision had noted a lioness-like figure. Turning his head to look, Midas felt his stomach drop. That wasn’t a lioness… no, the creature wandering the area was a goddess. Taking an initial step back, Midas felt the urge to run, however something made him think twice about his decision.

Something, or someone was influencing him and his thoughts, though he was unaware that the manipulation was even taking place. Wisdom was before him and he couldn’t deny the fact that his curiosity was outweighing all ignorant urges to run. Taking two steps forward, Midas did something he never thought he would do, he called spoke to her.

“Hello?”

Amesema'uhuru pressed up against the side of Siasa's foreleg, discreetly trying to draw the goddess' attention when she spotted the male nearby, moments before he spoke. Warily, but not aggressively, her eyes tracked his approach.

Siasa looked down at her companion, puzzled by the insistent, if light, pressure the jackal was putting on her foreleg. Seeing how intently Ame was looking in a particular direction, she followed her line of sight...and spotted Midas just before he spoke, and so barely restrained a start of surprise. He was...mortal. She'd spent more than a little bit of her time in this realm observing them, but this was the first time she'd run into one directly...

"Greetings," she returned, with only the tiniest of hesitations. Strangely, the lion's own rather uneasy posture put her more at ease - was he one of these 'stormborn', or from elsewhere? That might explain why he was tense, especially if he had heard the same rumors that she had...

It never occurred to her that her presence might be one to inspire awe, or fear, or even caution (although she tended to react carefully herself, when meeting a new god, just in case they happened to be...less than friendly.

"I hope I haven't disturbed you," she offered, manners coming to the forefront.

Ame didn't follow suit with a verbal greeting of her own, although the jackal did incline her head in Midas' direction...slightly.

Hesitating again, Midas examined the goddess and what looked like a jackal beside her. If the jackal held no fear towards her then perhaps she wasn’t a cruel goddess? Pondering the thought for a moment, Midas’ thoughts drifted to some of the stormborn who also help familiars captive. A deep frown appeared, the warlord himself owned ravens who seemed less than happy. Returning his attention to the goddess and the jackal, Midas stood his ground.

She seemed perhaps a touch fearful as well, something he honestly wasn’t expecting, contemplating what to do next the lion started to slowly fall into the rabbit hole of his mind. Why was she being some hesitant? Did he look that scary or was she perhaps scared of herself? What was the jackal doing with the goddess… what was her domain? Gritting his teeth together, Midas shook his head almost like he was expecting it to help him physically clear himself of the thoughts trampling his mind.

He was frowning when she spoke again, her voice oddly comforting paired with the manners she offered. It was becoming more likely that maybe this goddess wasn’t one to do harm to others. Not like famine… not like the strange beings in the sky creating havoc.

“Y-you didn’t… I am sorry, there has just been a lot going on recently.” He paused before he continued to speak, wondering if he should really divulge in his problems to this strange. Pursing his lips he thought the better. “Forgive me for being so forward, but what are you doing so close to the Stormborn lands?” He wanted to know if she was interested in harming them or if she was just aimlessly wandering.

Taking another step forward, he realized that he might have been a bit rude, especially without even offering a name. “I am Midas…” He had taken notice of the jackal’s standoffish behavior but did offer a small nod back to her, attempting to gauge if she was a slave to the goddess or just a friend.

Amesema'uhuru looked up at Siasa, an I-told-you-so expression on her face. It was readily apparent to her, at least, that he was a member of the pride whose borders they were walking so close to - and while he hadn't done anything threatening so far, their reputation was such that her eyes tracked his behavior carefully.

Siasa failed to notice the rather...lecturey expression that her companion shot her, observing the myriad of emotions that flitted across Midas' maw before he finally spoke again. At his awkward stammering, she blinked in return, waving the apology away with a graceful paw. "There's been a lot of unusual happenings everywhere." she replied, thinking of her own ejection from the haven, a few short months ago.

At his rather blunt question in regards to why she was here, she hesitated. The presumption of the question made her think he was probably one of them, although he lacked a certain...aggressiveness that she'd expected to encounter, given the pride's reputation.

"Curiosity." she finally said, raising her gaze to meet his. "I'd heard...rumors of the pride, and they made me...curious enough to come learn a little more." she chose to keep her explanation slightly vague, not wanting to potentially offend him by implying (accurately) that she had a difficult time understanding why a pride would want to live by stealing from others - whether it be goods, or the servitude of others.

Feeling slightly remiss, she gave him a small smile, introducing herself in return. "Siasa."

She then nudged, Amesema'uhuru, looking at the jackal expectantly.

With a small grunt, and a flick of her tail against Siasa's foreleg, the jackal nonetheless obeyed the silent request. "Amesema'uhuru." she said, keeping her tone clipped and to-the-point.
