Auras, it turned out, were like little tickles in her head. Some tickled more than others while those filled with Chaos were more soothing -- well, the proper agents' auras, at least. The Chaos senshi weren't nearly as delightful to be around but it wasn't their faults they were born with the wrong starseeds, after all.

There was a particularly ticklish aura that teased at her, growing strong the further she made her way down the sidewalk. The evening air brought with it a winter chill, leaving the monstrous flower girl fighting off the urge to shiver. It was overdue time for her to return home but just as she'd decided to find her way back to the Rift, the funny little feeling had danced across her mind and distracted her from her plans.

Painted lips opened out and she cooed aloud, calling to the tickle,

"Come out, come out, wherever you arrrrrrrrre~"

Scamander had had three things in mind when he'd set out to patrol that day:

a) Don't do anything stupid.

b) Try not to get stuck in a dumpster like that one time he tried not to think about too much.

and

c) Try not to get any injuries because doctor's visits were expensive and besides, he had better things to do than lay around in bed all day.

This last one was probably the most important, though it was the former that had gotten Scamander in trouble before, mostly when he was Nathaniel and not a page of Jupiter. But it didn't help that he wasn't as affected by things as he should have been, which was likely the reason why he kept getting into things in the first place.

Like now. When he probably should have skedaddled at the first sign of that cooing invitation.

Remember rule number one, Scamander.

He did not remember rule number one. Instead, he stepped around the corner with a look of wary curiosity on his face, continuing on his walk without diving to hide in any of the shadows that stretched out from various alleyways along the way. Possibly he was just adding fuel to the fire, but, well. He didn't mind retreating when it was necessary, and so far it wasn't necessary.

Yet. Hopefully never.

The woman was a flower. Or the flower was a woman. He was struggling to figure it out.

"Hello," Scamander said politely, because he politeness was an ingrained trait in even the most terrible of company, and this woman's - whatever she was - power signature was far from good company, if he was remembering that strangely uncomfortable prickling sensation correctly.

"Nice evening," he added, just in case she was of the 'stand around and make nice' kind.

A tall pink and tan figure appeared from around the corner, as if answering her beckoning. From a distance his features were shrouded in the evening's shadows but as the young man drew nearer, the youma found herself delighted (or rather, as delighted as a youma could be with a silly little knight in her presence).

"Well, well, aren't you a handsome little tickle."

There as an appreciation for the burst of pink covering his chest, a happy, floral color among the otherwise dreary evening. It drew her attention and the monster took a step closer to the human. She outstretched her hand, offering it out to the page as if implying he should know what to do.

Eyes practically twinkled as her lips curled up into a smile.

"It's certainly gotten nicer now, at least. I'm Euphoria."

Eyes flickered down to his belt for a moment, noting the flower on his waist. Her smile faltered slightly as her head tilted, curls tumbling to the side. A picked flower was a tragic thing - could people not simply enjoy things where they found them?

"Is that real, my handsome little tickle?" She asked, gesturing to the decorations nestled at his waist.

I'd argue that rule number 2 is probably the most important one

He wasn't sure he'd ever been called a tickle in his life. Scamander wasn't even sure what it was referring to, but he was relatively certain that it was probably not very good, if only because the power signature told him this was one of those creatures or people or whatever the case was that were generally the type to want to tip you into the nearest dumpster.

Been there, done that. Scamander smiled pleasantly at her, gave her hand a look, and took her fingers in his own, giving it the briefest of squeezes before he let go again, just in case she decided that she was going to do something drastic.

Like throw him in a dumpster. Or something.

(He really needed to stop thinking about that dumpster incident.)

"Euphoria?" Scamander repeated, arms at his side, his head tilted slightly. His accent was a sliding, shifting southern thing with faded endings of words and lazy vowels. "That's a pretty name. Are you very euphoric, then? Should I be euphoric to, to meet you?"

Maybe if he kept her talking she wouldn't want to squish him. Scamander glanced down at where her eyes had gone, then looked up again, tapping a finger against his leg in thought.

"Don't think so," he said, after a moment's contemplation. "It doesn't really die or anythin'. It just sorta...appears when I power up. I think it's jus' part of the uniform n' all. I've never really considered 'em before, but they are real nice, I think."

Maybe she was unhappy with them, considering she looked like she belonged in a vase herself.

"I see."

She stared at him for a while, as if processing his comment. The joke he made about her name received no laugh - but it didn't earn him a sigh or a frown either, at least.

"You won't mind if I have a look then, my nameless friend?"

If his lack of introduction or hand kiss perturbed her, she hid it well as she stepped forward towards the Jupiter page. Hands fell upon the petals on her hips as she leaned down, falling into the motions of attempting to gain a better view of the flower on his side.

"They are very nice. And you say they just appear?"

One hand gingerly moved out to take hold of the flower, soft eyes glancing up to see how he'd react.

She was still staring at him. Maybe it had been rude not to take her hand, Scamander realized, a little belatedly; she had, after all, offered it to him, and he'd been too busy staring at her to actually recognize the gesture until it was too late.

His southern manners put to shame indeed.

Her power signature was a churning, dark thing; definitely not the lighter, more airy tones of the Order side. Scamander may have been newer to the world of knights and senshi and Negaverse and everything altogether, but he knew at least enough to be wary of this woman.

Creature. Euphoria. Scamander was the sort to simply roll with things and see how they went, and this was definitely one of those times.

She had stretched out a pale hand, and now was fluttering fingers against the flowers on his own uniform. Scamander glanced at her, eyebrows slightly raised, but he seemed unperturbed by the movement. If he'd had pockets, he might have put his hands in them.

"I don' mind. And my name's Scamander. Are you always this interested in flowers?"

Maybe a silly question, considering her appearance, but it never hurt to ask.

"Scamander." She tested the word on her tongue, seemingly amused by the term as if she were speaking a foreign language. Which, to the botany beauty, might as well have been.

"Aren't you? They're such pretty things."

He didn't seem to mind her encroaching presence, which was a good thing, to her. The last thing she wanted was for someone to attack her when she hadn't made the first move.... yet. "Most people take them for granted, it's so sad."

From the sound of things, he took the one he wore for granted if he didn't even know whether it simply appeared or not, fastened to his uniform. He was probably just like every other little horrid senshi - someone who wanted to control nature instead of simply letting it thrive.

The thought had her jaw tensing, eyes narrowing slightly as she reluctantly released the flower, standing up straighter -- still very close -- as she stared down the young knight.

"You are interested in flowers, aren't you Scamander?"

She was a curious thing, made of flowers and petals, standing out in the same way that things unnatural generally did. Scamander wasn't necessarily afraid of her, but he was uncertain of her; it was as though something was not quite right, like a piece of furniture moved two inches to the left or a light that wasn't entirely on all the way so that the light in the room didn't quite look the same as it always had.

That was how youma felt to Scamander in general; sometimes it was like his mind did not quite want to catch up to the rest of his thoughts, putting unnatural things like youma and senshi and knights into a side box for later perusal when he was able to fully comprehend them.

Sometimes he still couldn't quite believe this was an actual life.

But it was, and she was real, and she was standing a little too close for comfort, though that as well had never really bothered him before. Scamander tilted his head up to look at her pale face, his own head cocked slightly to the side, sandy brown brows drawn lifting.

"It's true," he said in agreement. "People take flowers n' plants for granted all the time. And I'd say I was interested in flowers, yeah, that's true. I like workin' with them and watchin' 'em grow. You can learn a lot about the world just by plantin' some flowers."

And it was his job, most days, to care about plants, but he still liked them anyway, regardless of his gardening duties.

He wasn't moving, which was a delightful sign. Whether he didn't fear her or he was simply too dense to know better, he wasn't running away or trying to attack her and the youma was very, very pleased with this.

"It takes a lot of energy to make sure a flower blossoms properly."

She said it in a matter-of-fact tone as the hand near his flower lifted, fingertips trailing along the hem of his tunic. She was being coy but her vines were at the ready, if need be. If all went according to her quickly made plans, however, there would be no need for brute force to be used.

She really hated fighting. It was such a nuisance.

Her voice was dripping with innocence, overly so. "Would you give me some of your energy, Scamander, to ensure I blossom properly?"

This was probably going to end up being one of those times where Scamander's lack of fear was going to get him in trouble. It wasn't that he wasn't cautious; if anything, he was known for being a wary sort that tended to at least try to understand every situation he was put into and learned to work with what he had. But sometimes it got mistaken for carelessness, mostly because Scamander's perpetual mild-mannered personality meant he often got into trouble because of it.

Like right now.

"It does," he said in agreement. "I find that flowers are best cared for when they've got someone spendin' a lot of time and energy on them, after all."

Probably not what she meant, but he was nothing if not (mostly) literal. Scamander felt the rustle of fabric as she drew nearer, and now they were possibly too close, and this was equally as problematic. Scamander blinked up at her, her pale face the very picture of innocence.

He contemplated the question, thought about the possible outcomes, and eventually said,

"That depends. Any caveats?"

He wasn't telling her a direct no, which was a good thing but he was definitely wary. Which, for his sake was probably a good thing to be, though he clearly wasn't using his noggin' properly if he was even entertaining the idea of giving energy over to a youma, of all things.

"Only one, really. Maybe two, if we're getting technical."

While her eyes remained fixated on his, plant life began to quietly stir around his feet. Vines sprouted their way from the ground, jutting out through the cracks of the cement as they slowly curled around his shoes, the intention clear to hold the helpful page in place.

"You'll feel a little tired; energy does come at a cost, after all."

Hand lifting up, she pressed it against her chest as she gave her best attempt at a coy look, eyes darting towards his mouth, then back up to his eyes.

"And... you'll have to let me kiss you, to transfer it." Eyelashes batted themselves as her voice purred, "Would you mind letting me give you just a little kiss?"

kuropeco

Vine Snare - Having basic control of plant growth in the Rift helps transition her abilities to play with vines when it comes to her visits in Destiny City. These vines can ensnare a target for up to 30 seconds at a time (or longer, per player's discretion). As they are consistent with “normal” plant vines, it's possible to burn or break through the vines by appropriate means, if available to the player, before the allotted time runs out. She can use this attack up to 3 times per battle.

To Scamander's credit, his experience with youma that could actually think for themselves and talk back to you was limited to...well, one. The one standing directly in front of him, her eyes gleaming with purposeful intent as she stared down at him.

"Two caveats," he repeated thoughtfully and felt something curl around his leg, a faint frown flickering across Scamander's face. She was playing her part well, at least; he could see that she was doing her very best to convince him, and while he probably should have walked away, he now couldn't.

Literally. Because his legs were stuck.

On the other hand, it did mean he might get a chance to study how she worked more and how the transferring of energy differed from human to youma and whether or not the plants she was created with were actually life. Scamander was nothing if not utilitarian, after all.

"All right," he said eventually, then held up a finger. "But just one."

Eyes lit up when she watched his finger rise, a very stern one being conveyed by his gesturing. A smile spread across her face as she nodded her head in understanding, soft curls tumbling over her shoulder with the motion.

After all, all she needed was one little kiss.

Stepping forward, her hand reached out to cup his cheek, aiding her in guiding his face gently towards her own. He never clarified where he could be kissed, so Euphoria took it to her advantage as lips confidently found his. Energy gently began to siphon through the contact and her shoulders straightened, the feeling both invigorating and exciting.

If she were a good youma, she'd save the energy for her mistress -- but Euphoria was enjoying herself, fingers gently caressing the young man's cheek and moving down to rest along his shoulder, so she stole what she could, selfishly absorbing it for herself instead.

Vines began to uncurl themselves from around the young man's legs. Eyes blinked, trying to remain as innocent as possible as the giddy sensation bubbled within her. If things went according to plan, she could probably get more energy out of this... if not a yummy looking knight starseed.

"So....you sure you want just one kiss, handsome?"

kuropeco
Euphoric Kiss - her lips contain a non-toxic poison that when touched, the subject experiences mild to severe bouts of euphoria. If her hand was to touch her mouth or another surface and then a target, they would experience a mild reaction. If the target were to be kissed anywhere but the lips, it would be a moderate reaction. Direct contact on the lips would produce a severe reaction. Once in this state, the target experiences intense bouts of happiness, pleasure and excitement. In most cases they are less likely to attack, though each individual is expected to react according to each player’s personal discretion. This state can last for 30 seconds (or longer per player's discretion) and can be used up to 3 times per battle.

He hadn't been very specific, which was probably a mistake.

Actually, a lot of things were probably a mistake. Scamander felt his head being tilted upwards, and then cool lips were pressed against his own; not grossly suctioning, but firm and sure and without hesitation. Her hands were on his cheek, and then shoulders, holding on.

He felt a sudden, brief flicker of tiredness - and then something warm blossomed in his chest, expanding outwards. Scamander felt it building, felt it climbing its way up his throat until it reached his head and then a feeling of tumbling, sweet joy overtook him, eliminating whatever it was that he'd been thinking about.

He wasn't afraid of her, he knew that already. But now he felt positively delighted to have run into her, his cheeks showing just a hint of a flush, barely there, because he wasn't the type to show that, either. Scamander blinked, slowly, feeling quite a bit lighter on his toes than he had thirty seconds ago.

The vines were even gone. He felt a little sad about that; he would have liked to examine them.

"Just one seems like it wouldn't be enough," said Scamander reasonably, because this seemed like the correct answer and because the idea of kissing her was a very delightful prospect, one that made his already jubilant mind work a bit more to reach for it. "I think it'd be very lovely of you to kiss me again, if you wanted to. I wouldn' mind a bit."
