Wrathful Demigod

It'd been a few months since Captain had been pulled into the chaotic fold. A couple of months to get his bearings both in his civilian life and as a soldier. A couple of months fulfilling is energy quota and patrolling the streets. In that time he'd managed to strengthen ties with is girls, establish a comfortable work routine at Ardent Industries, and even head into the rift with Amphitrite and a couple of other members of his team on a mission.

There were still more teammates to meet, and Nissonite wondered if that was perhaps why his captain had called him to the outskirts of the city tonight, but it honestly could have been any number of reasons. The man was still quite the enigma to Niss.

He'd never been to this part of town, or at least not that he could remember. Who knows where the page had wandered, that was practically a lifetime ago, and not one Nissonite could even remember. It made it easy to disassociate from it. Like it hadn't even been him.

Labyrinthite was waiting for him near an old warehouse and the captain smiled at his commanding officer as he approached. "Sir."

Now that his time had been reconsumed with work, Labyrinthite was perpetually busy. His schedule was a filled up thing, nearly excessively so, but he kept tabs on the people he had beneath his cloak, so to speak. Progress had been carefully monitored on his most recent addition, brought over several months ago.

He had given the man more than enough time, in his opinion, to re-adjust to life. Nissonite was given the tools to settle easily enough; a job that paid well, a place of residence until he had been able to move into the place that'd once been his, all of the paperwork to make Othello Moor a certifiable real person, and more.

Now was the time to check his progress as an agent. Handing someone new to the negaverse the title was not something he smiled upon exactly, but it was his first personal dealing with someone having corrupted from the other side. There would be adjustments in the future, he was certain, but for now, he would make do with what he had been given.

When Nissonite arrived he was offered a smirk that didn't reach the general's eyes.

"How are you adjusting?" He asked.

The smile grew into an all-out grin at the question, and Nissonite rolled his shoulders in a casual sheug as he walked up to face his commanding officer. "Fairly well, I think." In his own mind things were going very smoothly, but he doubted he was a fair judge on his own progress within the Negaverse itself. That was Labrythinthite's call to make.

"I settled into my job, returned to my previous apartment, thanks for that by the way." The general had pulled strings to make that happen. Many many strings, and Otto appreciated that he'd gone to th effort.

He ticked off on his fingers as he continued, a pleased look on softly teamed features. "Keeping up with quotas, going on missions." There were a number of people he didn't want to disappoint, with Labrythinthite at the top of that list. Failing him was failing as an agent, and that was his life now. As far as he was concerned there was no going back.

Nissonite was more cheery in this situation than the recruits he'd personally trained. It was interesting, watching the way he pulled his life together with what meager scraps he had to rebuild. Most who where brought into the fold from the other side did not fair as well as the captain did.

"I take care of mine," Labyrinthite responded, almost dismissively. Nissonite hadn't earned it the way the others had, but there would be time and he was still fresh faced enough to be molded as the general saw fit.

Amphitrite would be an asset for it, too, considering her own devotion and faithfulness to their sovereign.

"I have high expectations, captain," he stated, taking a step forward with something dark in his eye. "That being said, we're here for combat training. Do you have any questions?"

Cheerful in the face of a major upheaval. Nissonite had always been fairly easy going with fair few real connections to anyone or anything outside of his immediate family. The lack of real loss certainly went towards keeping the captain's spirits high, and with Hydra and Amphitrite still in his life he had plenty to be thankful for.

He was still smiling even as Labyrinthite shifted gears, expressing his expectations for the new captain. Nissonite nodded, because that want in the least bit unreasonable or surprising, but that step forward, the look in his eyes triggered an immediate apprehension. And not without cause.

The general, even as a civilian, was an intimidating presence, and powered up that force was multiplied. Nissonite summoned his weapon as he took a step back, the smile fading into something more serious, focused.

"No questions, sir." He had no allusions Labrythinthite was going to attack with intent, because he didn't seem the sort approach anything delicately. There would be bruises from this training session, at the very least. Good. No sugarcoated bolstering. No watered down expectations of what the captain might meet out on his patrols.

He held the chain of his weapon between both hands, ice ball dangling from the left. Ready, waiting.

Whiskey-gold flicked over towards the weapon as it'd been summoned and he looked as if he were weighing his choices. Something with that much range could prove to be troublesome, especially if he opted to go unarmed himself but it also provided the potential that the weapon wasn't as useful in close combat.

He wondered if he could break it.

Fingers flexed and he cocked his head. "Very well," Labyrinthite said, adjusting the glove that sat over one hand. "Then we'll begin."

His scythe remained unsummoned, ready to be called to his finger tips if he felt necessary but for now, he'd go without.

Almost immediately after he spoke, he was moving, intending to give Nissonite no room to even think about swinging.

It wasn't a shock when Labryrinthite rushed him, and because he was expecting as much Nissonite managed to get the chain up and between them at arms length, elbows locking to try to prevent the taller man from getting too up close and personal.

But he was stronger than Niss had been anticipating, and he felt himself sliding backwards, his arms straining with the effort to keep them straight as he was pushed back.

It was positively unnerving how strong the the general was.

There was the smallest hint of a dark smirk on Labyrinthite's lips when he felt Nissonite sliding backwards. The power differences between General and Captain had always been prominent, but Labyrinthite kept up on his physique as combat was his specialty. Strength and skill were important when you were practically a living weapon.

The chain and locked arms kept him from getting immediately close and in the captain's space temporarily, but the general's hand shifted, grabbing ahold of a wrist and pressing thumb against the inside before twisting.

As if that wasn't enough, when he put his strength behind the twist, his foot shifted, intending to knock him off his feet.

There was only so long the captain was going to be able to keep the general at Bay, he knew that, so it came as no surprise when he felt Labyrinthite shift his grip to wrap a vice like hand around his wrist, thumb pressing painfully in against the inside of his wrist before twisting.

It tore a yelp from nissonite's throat as he tried to fight against it before just moving with the motion to save his arm from being ripped out if the socket. But as he did, body turning, he tried to throw an elbow back over his shoulder at the general face.

Then a foot was knocking into his ankles and he toppled, dropping hard to his knees with a hiss.

Labyrinthite knew that all of the advantages were his. He had years of experience under his belt, he had the strength that came from being part of Metallia's army and as a general, and he spent countless hours making sure to maintain his deceptively strong physique.

He was a man carved for war and it showed in how he held himself.

Nissonite's elbow caught the side of his jaw, Labyrinthite's grip weakening for the moment when he hissed. It didn't hurt, not really compared to everything else he had been through but it was enough of a distraction.

Still the captain went down on his knees and the general's hand went to grab a fistful of hair to yank his head back. "Is that all you've got?" Labyrinthite snarled.
