You get the link in an email. Up and coming new star wants you to watch their new song they just posted on Youtube. It’s a holiday song and is terribly catchy, though after you listen to it, you find yourself getting quite sleepy. The tiredness persists, and you only want to sleep.

The first nap lasts an hour or so, but you wake up hungry with the song still playing in your head. After eating you again sleep, and you don’t wake again until the next day.

When you go back to try and listen to the song again though, there is no email. And Googling it shows no results.

Weird.

Emails were something Jason had a tendency to allow to pile up. Of course, he was always checking his email for work related things, but he tended to skip over a lot of other stuff. Eventually that little notification on his phone would drive him mad enough to dig through them all and delete all the bogus stuff. And today was that day and he happened across one that was a promotion for a new Christmas song. He liked to keep track of a lot of new musicians, honestly that's what a lot of his emails were about. Youtube notifications about new uploads.

It was actually a pretty decent song, catchy and with a unique enough beat that it didn't come off as a copy some some existing song. That was the problem he always had with new Holiday songs, they didn't tend to have a lot of individuality. He caught himself yawning by the end of the song though. The music must have put him in a nice, relaxing mood. Something he wasn't able to easily attain for himself these days. Maybe a nap would be what he needed to reset himself.

The nice thing about having Xi as a roommate, there were tons of pillows and blankets all over their living room. He wasn't sure why would person would need so many, but it made it rather easy to take impromptu naps on his couch. He pushed his laptop closed, pushed a pillow under his head, and pulled a blanket around himself all without having to leave the couch. As soon as his eyes closed he was out, even if Xi or Nischal came home, it didn't wake him up at all.

When his eyes finally blinked open he check his phone. A whole hour-long nap. That was rare, usually he couldn't nap for more than like half an hour without rolling off the couch. He felt refreshed, but also hungry. Very hungry. It was a good thing he could smell food prepared in the kitchen.

He must have just missed Xi. There was a note left in the kitchen, he had made dinner and stored it for them. Aw, what a sweet kid. It was easy enough to steam some rice and reheat what his roommate had prepared. It was delicious, like it always was. It would be a sad day when Xi moved out, Jason almost wouldn't mind if he stayed with them forever. Except it might get pretty awkward at a certain point.

The whole time he was munching on his dinner, he was humming along to that new Christmas tune. It was so good, he couldn't seem to get it or the yummy food off his mind. Even while washing up his dishes he kept on humming. Weirdly enough though, he just felt drained all over again after finishing up with dinner. Was there something wrong with him that he was so sleepy today? Perhaps that nap had messed up his rhythm a bit.

He wanted to try and stay up so that he could spend his evening with Nischal when he returned home. But, that was proving difficult. He shuffled his way into the living room and curled up on the couch to watch some shows. He didn't have the energy to do anything.

Next thing he knew though, he woke up in his own bed. He slept the whole day away! Ugh, he was so mad. This time of year, it had to be something that triggered it. Could it have been that song? It was fuzzy in his head now, probably because he kept sleeping thinking about it. His phone was next to him on the nightstand and he unlocked it to check his email. He couldn't find it though and a quick search revealed it probably never existed in the first place. Maybe he was going crazy. Was it all just some crazy, lucid dream?

If anything, he now had an idea for his own Christmas song.
