Quote: A close friend or loved one makes a gift of a fuzzy, oversized sweater that they say they've purchased from one of the local merchants. It's not exactly attractive looking but they seem unfortunately very proud of the purchase so you dutifully at least try it on. This proves to be a poor decision on your part as you soon realize that you're unable to remove the fuzzy monstrosity. Even worse, every word that comes out of your mouth... comes out in song! What the heck? There's some mischievous magic afoot here but as hard as you try to tug it off or stop breaking into song, you're unable to remove the sweater for one full day and any word out of your mouth happens to have a cheerful tune to it. Hope you didn't have any major plans for the day! As was wont to happen now and then, Nix got a message about someone wanting to train some more--it kept him pretty busy, all told. But today, it was Susquehanna who wanted to train! That knight...Nix suspected Hanna didn't think someone as young as he should be out being magical and powered. Or, at least, was reluctant to put up with his enthusiasm. But here he was, out in the cold (holding a hot cocoa in a starbucks cup), waiting to have some good ol' fashioned training time! He was rather literally bouncing in place as he waited--excitement, his usual bounciness, and staying warm, of course. The spot today was something he'd noticed recently: A fire department training ground. He figured they probably wouldn't mind if he and his friends "borrowed" the space...so long as things didn't get too much more burnt and smashed. There were wrecked buildings, not wrecked buildings, a few cars, and generally some sweet places to have some mock battles or whatever else struck their fancy.

Now, Shiloh knew it was strange of him to go out of his way to try to train powered up with someone, but today, he had an ulterior motive. It was kinda late, he knew that, and the weather was more cold than he would like to admit, but there was something he really wanted to give Nix before the year was over.
More than a few hours were spent knitting a fluffy frog-themed sweater for the kid, and it would be useful for the boy to have it before winter was over, right? It was post-Christmas, and his cleaning job at the mall finally slowed down now that the Christmas rush was over he managed to get a night off. So... Tonight was perfect!
Once Nix had agreed, Shiloh made sure to have everything packed, the sweater and a bunch of homemade cookies, then left the house, excited to give a present to someone other than Alexei for once.
The number of friends he had was small, less than he could count on one hand, but he was more than happy to spoil them however he could!
It took a little bit of time to actually get there thanks to the snow on the ground, unfortunately. Once he was away from the streets and the views of most people, he powered up and pulled a thick coat out from his little pocket of subspace. Sadly, the cookies were no longer warm and fresh out the oven, but at least they weren't frozen solid. And from the looks of it, Nix wasn't frozen solid either as he waited at this... rather strange place. The area almost looked creepy with the wrecked building and burned cars all around... What in the world was a child doing in such a place? How did he even find this place? That was something to ask later.
"Good evening, Nix! How was your Holiday?" Susquehanna would give his gift later, just... Maybe soon, actually, the darned kid didn't even bother to put on a coat! "Do.... Uh, do you have a coat or something? It's rather cold outside!"

Aura meant that Nix knew Hanna was there before he'd said anything, so he had time to turn (still bouncing a bit) and give a grin-accompanied wave. "Hi, Hanna!" he replied cheerfully. "Christmas was great, but the holiday's not done quite yet~ still got new years, and a few days after that before it's time for school again!" He nodded, thinking about the various gifts he'd gotten, and the usual odd knick-knacks. And, you know, Destiny City Oddities, but he'd mostly managed to avoid most of those recently.. He could see the knight having a look around. Surely thinking about how great a training place this was...so many possibilities! "I...don't have a coat," he admitted with a bit of a sheepish grin. "The stuff I have feels weird put over my suit, and I feel like if I got into trouble with it on, I'd have a really hard time explaining why my nice jacket has a huge bite out of it or," he waved a hand around dismissively, his tone still light and cheery, "you know, scorch marks or whatever." He shrugged, and hopped again. "So, I just stay moving! And I've got some hot cocoa," he lifted the cup in his hand. "I've got a thermos here with some more if you want it!" He scratched an eyebrow idly. "Though, really, I'm cold, but not as cold as you might expect of somebody wearing something as..." he leaned forward to peer down at himself, "...thinly dressed as this."

Susquehanna nodded at the senshi's response. There was still quite some time before the New Year rang in! Sadly, as an adult he couldn't quite have that freedom that Nix had when it came to school and everything with working every day, but he DID understand that freedom in some way! His college Semester was over already and he didn't have to go back til mid January. Plenty of time to work off the debt collected from Christmas shopping and to work off the weight he was sure he had gained making and eating all those sweets. "I appreciate the offer of cocoa, and... You know, the thing about the coat... That is very true! But you really, really should prepare a coat to wear over top of your uniform. Even if it's not a coat, or a sweater, a hat or some fuzzy mittens could keep you from getting frostbite! I don't know if it will survive firey blazes, and I really, truly hope you don't go out and about looking for fire, but... I do have something for you that should help for tonight. Something you don't have to make an excuse as to why it gets messed up!" With a very wide smile, so very unusual for him, he reached into his pocket space and pulled out the fuzzy knitted, frog motif sweater he had made for Nix. It was a just on a smidgen too big for the boy, but that was to be expected as he used himself as a model. The sweater was a nice, gentle green color, with the outline of a frog in the middle in a darker green, with big googly eyes sewn in and a long, curling tongue that stuck out from it's mouth. To Hanna, it was something incredibly cute, and very much fitting for the Frog Senshi before him. There were also side pockets in the sweater, with a little froggy foot knitted onto each one, and even a hood that would come up right over Nix's eyes, that had it's own froggy eyes sticking up off of it! "I thought that you might be someone who would forgo something warm, so I made you this! Merry Christmas, Nix! Don't worry if it's too big, I'm sure you'll grow right into it! Oh, and I also baked some cookies for you, they're in the pockets. Go ahead and put it on! I promise you'll be quite warm!"

Nix's eyes widened at the sight of the sweater. It was... ...very unique. He wasn't entirely sure he liked it. That is to say, it was a super cute frog pattern, and he was thrilled to bits to be given something like that--a handmade sweater, wow!--but it was just...well. It was Christmas. And certainly, it would be warm. His smile, if ever so slightly confused, was entirely genuine as he accepted it carefully. "Oh wow, thanks!" he declared. "Nobody's ever made me a sweater before! My family doesn't do that... u..mmm...sweater thing that you hear about on TV." He'd decided mid-sentence to drop "ugly." It mostly worked. He'd already lifted it up to put it on when there was a mention of cookies. He blinked in surprise, and nodded some. "Wow, cookies, too?" The motion of putting the sweater on was taken a bit more gingerly with that knowledge, but he still did it and gave Hanna a grin and a thumbs up once it was in place. He reached into one of the pockets and pulled out...half a cookie. Close enough. He chomped it without much hesitation, and sang out, "Wonderful~" followed immediately by a slightly confused look, although he kept eating the cookie.

"Mhm! Cookies! I'm so very glad to hear you like them!" It was only a little disappointing that the cookie seemed to have not survived the trip here in his little pocketspace, but half a cookie was better than a handful of crumbs, right? And.... yes, he was right, it was certainly oversized, but Susquehanna was certain he'd grow into it. "Hehe... So good you have to sing? You certainly know how to give a compliment! If you like, I can give you more, or make something else another time. For now, we were going to train, right? Did you want to fight, or perhaps run obstacle courses around here? Sadly, I think setting anything on fire would be a bad idea, we might get caught."

"Iiiiii,'d" Nix replied, drawing out the note of the word a bit longer than one might expect, " love a few more coo-kees, oh yes~ So much~" He clamped his mouth shut at that point, and put a hand over it, looking very wide eyed and confused. "Help," he sang more cheerfully than intended. "I can't stop sing-ing, oh dear...and such!" After singing that out, he covered his mouth again, and arched a brow at Hanna, silently asking a question that he hoped there was a good answer to.

At this point, Susquehanna was trying to stifle a laugh at the boy before him. Was this perhaps a joke? Or maybe Susquehanna was looking more down than he had thought he had so Nix was trying to cheer him up? Either way, it was certainly adorable seeing the younger Senshi trying to keep a tune. And yet it didn't end, and maybe, Nix was a little concerned himself... Perhaps this wasn't just a simple joke. Nix, are you alright? You look a little.. Confused."

Nix was silent for a few moments, brow furrowed, and rubbing his nose. Finally, he said very carefully, "Siiinging is not my intennntion~" He stopped again, that was definitely singing. Not especially good singing. But he was an athlete, not a choir boy. "Those cookies...those cookies...they taste like muuusic!" Not quite right, but somehow he was saying everything a bit off from what he'd meant...and it was more than a little disconcerting.
