Background: In the town of Uzushiogakure. Yoshiro and Manami Iekami, young married couple of a few years, had much trouble in bearing a child. It seemed to curse the them , and they prayed every day that one fateful day they would get a child of their blood. With desperation on their side, they enacted the help of a witch doctor named Hanae-Baba help in the fertility of the couple. The ceremony of fertility required Yoshiro to slice his finger with a sacred dagger and draw blood into a iridescent bowl, and with Manami, laying in a bed of baby's breath flowers, to drink from the bowl while imagining the face of her newborn. The ritual concluded, and the witch explained that she could not guarantee success in the livelihood of their child.
A few months later, Manami became pregnant. Utter disbelief between the two ensued, and they prayed to the gods for such a miracle to occur. Flashing forward to the Iekamis walking to the market when Manami suddenly went into labor. The Yoshiro frantically called passerbyers to get a doctor quickly. The wife was moved into the forest lining the pathway to the market. The baby was finally delivered, but to be stillborn. Immense sorrow came between the couple, and all hope had ceased for a child to be born in their blood. They decided to bury the child where it was birthed. Days later, crying could be heard from the forests as people walked the same market path. As a group walked in to see where the cries came from, a baby wrapped in baby's breath and blood screamed, as if it had just been born. News circulated the town of this mysterious baby in the woods. Word got around to the Iekamis, who had spent the days after their failure in offspring locked in their house grieving. Hearing that the baby was found exactly where their baby was buried, the Yoshiro and Manami ran to see if the gods had granted them their child back. It had to be true, because when the wife found the baby, it was to every detail exactly how she imagine him to be. He was to be named Kasumi, the baby born of baby's breath.
Now as a young academy student, he is known by some as a product of a miracle, which gives him much unwanted attention. With the passing of his mother due to a sudden fatal sickness and the death of his father from depressive drinking habits, he learned to survive with help from mother nature. He strives to understand his power and find his purpose in life.
