Getting free Hot Chocolate from that new food truck seemed like a great idea at the time, and the blue sprinkles on top was just the cutest touch!
A few hours later though, you just can’t seem to get warm. Nothing helps. Not a bath, not wrapping in ten blankets and not sitting in front of an open fire. Your skin begins to turn a pale blue starting at your fingertips, and if you were warm enough to remove your socks, you’d see your toes were doing the same thing. As the minutes wear on you begin to sneeze small bunches of snowflakes as the icy blue continues to take over your skin. Perhaps it is a good idea to just go to bed and pile on the blankets.
The cold lasts for about six hours, and the blueish tint fades after you again get warm. Maybe you should think twice the next time someone offers you something for free…

It had been a fun day, Glen had gotten the call to babysit Abby last minute, as both her parents and Vivi had emergencies or work or...suspicious activity from Vivi, something to dwell on later. For now, he and Abby had a good day of playing in the snow, almost getting decked by a ball from her new bat, and walking around the stores. On the way back, Abby pointed out a vendor. "Glen look! He's got hot chocolate!" Glen turned, seeing that yes, the guy did have hot chocolate, and it looked like he was just passing it out. Normally, Glen didnt trust free things, but he was cold, and maybe the guy had been paid in advance by one of the stores. So he and Abby went over, getting a drink for her and himself, loving the blue sprinkles, as they added a cute winter look to it.
He took Abby to his own house, as he knew Vivi wouldn't be home for hours, well after Abby's bedtime, and her parents already agreed to it, since neither would be able to get home until the next day. So he had bought groceries on their trip, ready fro a full fun night with his favorite kid. Where she'd inevitably pass out at eight.
Or at least, the night was supposed to be fun, until two hours later, when he began feeling cold, and Abby came up to him, complaining of the same thing. He had been making dinner, Abby in the living room playing a game , when he felt a chill. He wondered if maybe the heat wasn't high enough, when Abby came into the kitchen, saying she felt cold. So he went to his thermostat, frowning when he saw it read eighty nine degrees. Maybe it was wrong? He turned it up to ninety five, and let Abby sit in the kitchen while he continued cooking, hoping maybe the heat from that and a hot meal would help.
Unfortunately, it didn't help at all, Glen and Abby on the couch two hours later, shivering under every blanket he owned, even the heater blanket.
"G-glen? Why're we cold? Why;re you blue?" She asked, frightened. He was confused. What was she talking about? She was blue too....she was blue too..... Glen ripped the covers off, seeing both he and Abby were turning blue, and whe she sneezed, he saw snow flakes. Jesus, what was happening!? He tried to stay calm, watching as Abby reached for something, stopping her before she got whatever it was out. "We---we can't call y-y-y-your parents." He sneezed, snowflakes also coming from him. He pulled her close, wrapping the blankets around them both. "G-gotta r-r-r-rride it ou-ou-uoout." He knew that was dumb, but he couldn't let her parents, lety alone his, seeing this at all. He could swear he heard Abby said "Wasn't gonna, was gonna be magic and fix it." but he ignored it, maybe she said something else.
So for hours they sat, shivering and sneezing, a movie playing for background noise, until he awoke to Abby complain g about the heat, at which point they both realized they were no longer blue, or cold, and rejoiced in a big, hot breakfast. Glen vowing to never get free hot chocolate again,
