It took a long time for the sobbing to fade and the tears to dry, and longer still before Phoebe found the strength of will to do anything other than just sitting there with her back against the wall and her face hidden in her hands. She didn't know what to do. There was a body there, and she couldn't just leave it there, and she didn't know what to do with it, with him. Him. He'd been a person. He'd had a life, and thanks to her... No no, the corrupt had pulled his seed before she'd gotten there. He would have died regardless, but she'd just made it so much worst. She didn't know how long she'd waited, but at a certain point she'd taken her cellphone out and opened it. The first number on her speed dial was Dene, her leader, and her thumb hesitated over the other senshi's name before touching the screen to initiate the call. It rang a couple of times, and then she heard Dene's voice and the tears that'd slowed started falling again, her voice catching in her throat making it hard to answer. "I-I need help."

Fiona had learned to be a light sleeper.
Lives could be lost if she slept too heavy and on the rare occasion she went to sleep 'early' she kept her phone close to her person so that she was always reachable. It had become even more important as her little family continued to grow and people who needed guidance looked towards her for it.
She was determined to give them everything she felt she hadn't been when she'd been brought into the fold.
So, when her phone began to ring, it woke her and it only took a few seconds for her to find it, voice a little scratch from sleep. "This is Fiona," she had answered but it was the panicked voice that had her waking almost instantly.
"Where are you?" She asked, already tossing the blankets off and slipping her feet into the booties she kept bedside. A jacket was grabbed and Fiona was halfway out the door, keys in hand.

Oh that k God. Phoebe huddled around the phone, Fiona's calm voice acting like a balm. She'd know what to do about the poor man and the corrupt senshi. Fiona would fix this, she was good at that. But the question caught her off gaurd because she wasn't actually sure where she was. Sniffling, Phoebe lifted her head to look down the alley for a street sign. There wasn't one. "I don't..hold on." Squinting she read the name off the awning across from the alley. A small cafe, not one she recognized but surely Fiona could use that to find her. "There was a corrupt senshi, and this poor guy, and I don't know what to do." Whatever small measure shed manage to wrap around herself when her friend had answered the phone crumbled and she was sobbing over the phone, words rushed and stumbling over each other. "I think he's dead! She-she killed him, and I couldn't stop her," she hiccuped, clutching the phone to her ear.

There were questions bubbling in Fiona's throat and she wanted to ask them, barely holding back so that Phoebe could rattle off an address. She was somewhat familiar with the area, already placing it in her head as she slid into her car and plugged it into her phone's GPS just in case.
"Shh, shhh. It's okay," she reassured, even as she set off toward the location. "I'll be there in ten minutes, can you hold out until then?"
She didn't like that ten minutes could feel like an eternity when stressed and upset but it was the best she could do without the convenience of teleporting like the negaverse had.
"You're going to be okay, I promise." She could not say the same for the man.

Ten minutes, she just had to hang on for ten minutes and Fiona would be there. Phoebe didn't know what, if anything the other girl could do for the poor man, but she'd been at this senshi thing longer, maybe she knew something Phoebe didn't. Well, that was obvious, but maybe something specific to this. The poof girl clung to the phone as she waited, sobs slowing but the tears still came hot and fast and by the time she heard a car pulling up and slowing she'd backed herself up to sit against the wall, knees up and arms around her legs. She looked haunted and helpless and heartbroken, and the sight of the other girl brought on a fresh wave of sorrow, and it was all she could do to throw herself at the girl as she walked up.

She'd pulled over almost immediately after she spotted Phoebe's familiar fuku. After that it was simply seconds before she'd thrown open her car door and hurried over to the girl.
Concern had her brows etched together and she immediately opened her arms to welcome the younger girl into them if she wanted. "Hey," she said in that softer, comfort-intended way she kept around the wounded. "I'm so sorry," she mumbled even as she pressed her nose into Phoebe's hair.
Fiona stepped back, blue and green eyes looking around for any sort of injuries or damage.
"Are you hurt?"

The open arms were all the invitation Phoebe needed and she felling in against the other girl, face burying against Fiona's neck as her shoulders shook and her breathing shuddered. Now she felt like she could fall apart. Even if she'd already been crying, already broken down there had still been a sliver of composure left that kept her from running away from the awful sight of the poor man laying in the alley beside her. But Fiona was here now, and she could take control. At the question Jack shook her head. She wasn't hurt, not physically, not really. Her wrists hurt a little bit, but it was nothing compared to what it could have been, what it had been for the corrupted senshi's victim.

Fiona stayed upright, used to being the pillar of strength for the people that were in her life. One hand braced between the other woman's shoulder and the other pressed firmly into her side to pull her more tightly into their hug.
Over her shoulder, the redhead took in the scene behind them-- the man on the ground.
It had been so long ago that Fiona couldn't remember the first time someone had lost their starseed in front of her.
"It's going to be okay, I know--- Whatever happened, we're going to get you through this okay?"

Phoebe just nodded again as she clung to the redhead--trusting that what she was saying was true. It had to be. Had toIf not... Swallowing back another sob the senshi lifted her head from Denebola's shoulder to glance back down at the deceased man and just the sight of him made her chest her. "Wh...what do we do with him?" They couldn't just leave him here in the alley. He probably had a family. People that were waiting for him to come home. Maybe he was a student at the university.

Fiona was doing everything she could to make sure that Phoebe had the comfort and support she might need. Her hand ran up and down the younger woman's back and she kept her as close as she felt was needed.
"Well, we're going to have to call the police." She licked her lips, turning her attention to the man's body. "There's a lot of ways we can explain it. He's not visibly injured so it could always be chalked up to something like a heart attack or something." She sighed, not enjoying that they had to deal with this.
Phoebe shouldn't have had to deal with it alone. "There's...if she took his starseed. If she ate it, then there's nothing we can do for him." It was the sad, unfortunate truth. "But we can make sure that he doesn't have to be left alone and hope someone find him."

It wasn't what she'd wanted to hear, what she'd hoped she wouldn't hear, but deep down it was what she'd been expecting. There was nothing they could do for the poor man beside making sure he was doing quickly and his body taken care of. There would be family and friends that would need contacting, mourning would begin. Fresh tears ran down her cheeks and she sniffled, her heart breaking not just for him but for everyone that would miss him. She nodded as she drew in a shaky breath, still basically clinging to the other woman. "Okay. Whatever we can do for him..." Phoebe absolutely didn't want to talk to the cops, she felt so raw and empty, but at least she was alive and relatively unhurt. At least she was going to get to go home after this. She kept that in mind as she finally let go of Dene and straightened up to scrub at her eyes with her palms. "Okay," she said again, a little more resolutely.

"I'm going to need you to power down," Fiona said gently so that the aura wouldn't draw more attention and so that when the police did arrive it wouldn't seem as questionable.
Afterwards the redhead would make the phone call to report an unresponsive body and while they waited for the police to make it to them, Fiona took time to talk about what had happened and discuss what they would say when it came time to.
Once everything was said and done, Fiona coaxed Jack to follow her and led her back to her house. This wasn't something the older woman thought the girl should deal with alone.
Besides, a 'sleepover' and some quality time wouldn't hurt.
