Fresh snow has fallen over Destiny City for the third time this week; most people seem to have stayed inside today due to a particularly heavy flurry, but you find yourself outside tonight for some reason. The weather has faded, revealing a sparkling night sky. Much of the ground is covered in a crisp layer of snow--but more than that, beautiful flowers in the shape of snowflakes have sprouted in the ground. They grow in small patches and permeate a pleasant, sweet fragrance. If the flowers are not kept in freezing temperatures, they melt, but for the duration of their lifespan they are beautiful, fragile things. In such a busy metropolis, isn't it nice to take a moment to take a moment and appreciate nature? Even if there does seem to be something a little magical about this?

So far, December hadn’t been that bad compared to previous years. Of course, that was pretty much a sign of the climate changing and bad humans wanting to accelerate the Earth’s destruction, but Bernard tried to ignore that part and just enjoy the weather until it got icy and freezing in January.

Sure, he had the girth and the layering to shield himself against the horrible cold, but it didn’t mean he had to like going out so much! But he had promised himself to do more for the cause, and so he had been outside on a non-frozen and non-wet bench watching as people walked by. He had been out for quite a few hours, and yet he hadn’t sensed any senshi whatsoever. Not being able to help in that way was… discouraging to say the least. Perhaps it meant that there were less senshi out there than before? After all, the Negaverse stole so many starseeds, if a senshi were to be killed in that way, then there would be no possibility of reincarnation. And who knows how many were missing considering all of the problem the planet had had in the past in terms of plagues and wars. The Negaverse was bound to be working then too.

With a disappointed feeling in the pit of his stomach, Bernard moved off of the bench and was about to go back to his home, when he noticed something to the side of the bench in the snow. Upon closer inspection they looked like… flowers? But they were in the shapes of snowflakes. And Bernard had never heard of such a thing, unless someone had dumped their school project on the ground instead of in the trash can a foot away.

He went up to the “flowers” to sniff them a bit and see what was going on, and realized that they did have some sort of fragrance to them. And it didn’t smell like the fake flower stuff either. It was as though these were the real deal! Bernard couldn’t help but smile a bit as he looked at the pretty things, wondering if he could take one home with him. But, just as he was about to test it out, he got his nose too close to one and… “CHOO!” He said, unable to cover his nose in time to stop the sneeze from coming out at full velocity!

He looked in surprise at the flowers. He did not have allergies. Even in the Spring and Summer where pollen seemed to have an invisible coat over everything did nothing to set off his nose! And yet, these flowers, they had made him sneeze so easily! Just what kind of flowers were they?!

Bernard gave the flowers a look of partial disgust, before sneezing again, and then giving them a death glare. Clearly the flowers were evil and were only there to force one to sneeze. Well, he was just going to get away from them! And so he turned around, his behind to them and he walked to his house.

But not before sneezing a few more times.
